Due to associated uncertainties,modelling the spatial distribution of depth to bedrock(DTB) is an important and challenging concern in many geo-engineering *** association between DTB,the safety and economy of design structures implies that generating more precise predictive models can be of vital *** the present study,the challenge of applying an optimally predictive threedimensional(3D) spatial DTB model for an area in Stockholm,Sweden was addressed using an automated intelligent computing design *** process was developed and programmed in both C++and Python to track their performance in specified tasks and also to cover a wide variety of diffe rent internal characteristics and *** comparison to the ordinary Kriging(OK) geostatistical tool,the superiority of the developed automated intelligence system was demonstrated through the analysis of confusion matrices and the ranked accuracies of different statistical *** re sults showed that in the absence of measured data,the intelligence models as a flexible and efficient alternative approach can account for associated uncertainties,thus creating more accurate spatial 3D models and providing an appropriate prediction at any point in the subsurface of the study area.

Interactions Between Temperature and Sugars in the Regulation of Leaf Senescence in the Perennial Herb Arabis alpina L.

Annual plants usually flower and set seed once before senescence results in the death of the whole plant （monocarpic senescence）. Leaf senescence also occurs in polycarpic perennials; even in ＂evergreen＂ species individual leaves senesce. In the annual model Arabidopsis thaliana sugars accumulate in the senescent leaves and senescence is accelerated by high sugar availability. Similar to A. thaliana, sugar contents increased with leaf age in the perennial Arabis alpina grown under warm conditions （22℃ day/18 night）. At 5℃, sugar contents in non-senescent leaves were higher than at a warm temperature, but dependent on the accession, either sugars did not accumulate or their contents decreased in old leaves. In A. alpina plants grown in their natural habitat in the Alps, sugar contents declined with leaf age. Growth at a cold temperature slightly delayed senescence in A. alpina. In both warm and cold conditions, an external glucose supply accelerated senescence, but natural variation was found in this response. In conclusion, sugar accumulation under warm conditions could accelerate leaf senescence in A. alpina plants, but genotype-specific responses and interactions with growth temperature are likely to influence senescence under natural conditions.

It is well known that large genomic variations can greatly impact the phenotype of an *** Variants(SVs)encompass any genomic variation larger than 30 base pairs,and include changes caused by deletions,inversions,duplications,transversions,and other genome *** to their size and complex nature,until recently,it has been difficult to truly capture these *** advances in sequencing technology and computational analyses now permit more extensive studies of SVs in plant *** tomato,advances in sequencing technology have allowed researchers to sequence hundreds of genomes from tomatoes,and tomato *** studies have identified SVs related to fruit size and flavor,as well as plant disease response,resistance/susceptibility,and the ability of plants to detect pathogens(immunity).In this review,we discuss the implications for genomic structural variation in plants with a focus on its role in tomato *** also discuss how advances in sequencing technology have led to new discoveries of SVs in more complex genomes,the current evidence for the role of SVs in biotic and abiotic stress responses,and the outlook for genetic modification of SVs to advance plant breeding objectives.

Philanthrocapitalism and the State:Mapping the Rise of Venture Philanthropy in Public Education in Australia

Purpose:This article maps the rise of venture philanthropy in public education in Australia,exploring how policy networks mobilize high-level systemic reform and governance *** is philanthrocapitalism,a fundamental shift for policy mobility and modes of ***/Approach/Methods:Drawing upon network ethnography,I focus on a node called Social Ventures Australia(SVA),an organization committed to revolutionizing venture philanthropy in Australian education ***,the brainchild of McKinsey&Company and multinational corporations,is a useful example to map how venture philanthropy leverages resources and,in the process,fundamentally changes the shape,functionality,and form of traditional ***:SVA has successfully advocated for several intermediaries,such as an evidence broker(Evidence for Learning),a national charity(Schools Plus),and a national education research institute(Australian Education Research Organisation).Overlapping philanthropy and state,the intermediaries stand as a critical assemblage and technology of ***/Value:Venture philanthropy and the way in which these networks achieve high-level systemic reform is under-researched in *** stands as a critical lever of policy reform in public *** article will scrutinize and map the way these networks mobilize reform and function as an identifiable form of economic exchange.

The wild population of the African lion Panthera leo continues to decline, requiring alternate conservation programs to be considered. One such program is ex situ reintroduction. Prior to release, longterm monitoring and assessment of behavior is required to determine whether prides and coalitions behave naturally and are sufficiently adapted to a wild environment. Social network analysis （SNA） can be used to provide insight into how the pride as a whole and individuals within it, function. Our study was conducted upon 2 captive-origin prides who are part of an ex situ reintroduction program, and 1 wild pride of African lion. Social interactions were collected at all occurrence for each pride and categorized into greet, social grooming, play, and aggression. Betweenness centrality showed that offspring in each pride were central to the play network, whereas degree indicated that adults received （indegree） the greatest number of overall social interactions, and the adult males of each pride were least likely to initiate （outdegree） any interactions. Through the assessment of individual centrality and degree values, a social keystone adult female was identified for each pride. Social network results indicated that the 2 captive-origin prides had formed cohesive social units and possessed relationships and behaviors comparable with the wild pride for the studied behaviors. This study provided the first SNA comparison between captive-bred origin and a wild pride of lions, providing valuable information on individual and pride sociality, critical for determining the success of prides within an ex situ reintroduction program.

BACKGROUNDYoung people with type 1 diabetes in low-and-middle income countries facemany challenges in accessing care, with various essential supplies needed forsurvival and long-term *** study insulin delivery devices and glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) *** survey was conducted in 2019 of leading diabetes centres in 41 countriessupported by the Life for a Child Program. The survey covered numerous aspectsconcerning availability and costs at all levels of the health system, local usagepatterns and attitudes, obstacles, and other ***-seven countries returned the survey (90.2% response rate). Key findingsincluded: Syringe use was most common (83.1%), followed by insulin pens(16.7%) and pumps (0.2%). 48.6% of public health systems did not providesyringes, even with a co-payment. Use of suboptimal syringe/needlecombinations was common. Needles were generally reused in almost all countries(94.3%, n = 35). Aside from donated supplies, there was variable access to HbA1ctesting within public health facilities, and, when available, patients often had tocover the cost. Provision was further compromised by numerous problemsincluding stock-outs, and challenges with understanding the test, equipmentmaintenance, and *** gaps exist for adequate access to appropriate insulin delivery devices andHbA1c testing. Public health systems in low-and-middle income countries shouldincrease affordable provision. There are also needs for specific health professional training and diabetes education;elimination of customs duties and taxes;development of inexpensive, robust HbA1c testing methods that do not requirerefrigeration of testing supplies;differential pricing schemes;and other solutions.

Effects of major ozonated autohemotherapy in the treatment of dry age related macular degeneration: a randomized controlled clinical study

AIM: To evaluate the effect of systemic ozonated major autohaemotherapy (O3-AHT) in patients affected by dry age related macular degeneration (AMD). METHODS: This study was a randomized, controlled clinical study. One hundred and forty patients with the diagnosis of AMD in both eyes, with the study eye presenting dry AMD and soft drusen, were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either receive 27 major ozonated autohemotherapy treatments during 12-month period, or a standardized multi-vitamin therapy. Primary outcome was the change in best corrected visual acuity (mean logMar change) between the baseline and 6 and 12 months, end point of the study. In addition, to investigate the safety of prolonged ozonated autohaemotherapy, we measured the routine haemato- chemical parameters and biochemical oxidative stress values at baseline and after 12 months treatment time. RESULTS: The mean baseline best corrected visual acuity in study eyes was 0.36 in the treatment group and 0.38 in the control group (difference not statistically significant). At the primary endpoint, 6 months post-baseline, the mean logMAR change in the treated group improved by 0.1 and the values of the control group at the same time impaired by 0.2 respect to the baseline. Four percent and twenty-five percent of eyes in the group treated with O3-AHT gained 1 or more lines after 6 and 12 months respectively compared to 0% in the eyes which received no treatment (P <0.05 at 12 months). None of the treated patients experienced a loss in visual acuity in their study eye at 6 and 12 months, compared to 16% and 40 % of patients in the control group who lost 2 lines or more at 6 months and 12 months respectively (P <0.05 treated vs control group)). Major ozonated autohemotherapy was shown to be safe and well- tolerated by the patients. Moreover, the haematochemical parameters showed a decrease in the Reactive Oxygen Metabolites (300±10.1 UCARR at 12 months compared to a baseline value of 380±10.4 UCARR, P <0.05
