Level of stress among nurses and their adopted coping strategies

Objectives:This study was aimed at identifying the nurse’s level of stress and the coping mechanism adopted by *** and Methods:A descriptive study was done to assess the level of stress and the coping strategies adopted by the nurses in a secondary hospital in North East India,Nagaland.A total enumerative sampling technique was used to select 94 samples for the *** Nursing stress scale(NSS)by Gray-Toft and Anderson 1981 was used to assess stress,and the Ways of Coping Questionnaire was ***:Of 94 samples,68(72.34%)had a mild level of stress,25(26.59%)had a moderate level of stress,and only 1(0.06%)had a severe level of ***-one(32.97%)used minimal coping strategies,and 63(67.02%)used moderate coping *** was no significant association between the stress level and selected demographic variables such as age,marital status,and years of experience(all P>0.05).A significant association was found between the stresses of nurses and qualification of nurses(χ2=4.10,P=0.04).Conclusion:The study reveals that most nurses had mild levels of *** nurses use moderate coping strategies to relieve their stressors at ***,there is a need to emphasize the importance of using effective coping strategies for nurses to alleviate their stresses and anxiety in their workplace and even in their personal lives.

太极拳不仅是一种体育运动项目,又是中华传统文化的一个重要组成部分,它在全世界非常受欢迎。现在太极拳的科学规范的传播方式与标准问题,已经影响到太极拳在国际上的普及与推广。在太极拳界,技术训练历来被重视,而理论方面经常被练习者所忽略。这样就会对拳术的发展有所限制,其原因是由于文化的差异性。通过几百年的训练经验后创造的,太极拳理论是一种使用中华传统文化语言来解释太极拳动作的理论。一些拳理的基本要领,如“掤”、“虚实分明”、“缠丝劲”等训练要求,对大部分的练习者来说,理解这些难度很大。原因在于这些概念只有在掌握中华传统文化基础上才能理解。为了有助于练习者能理解训练理论的内涵,我们使用科学方法来分析太极拳动作技术,使用一种国际通用的生物力学方法来说明太极拳运动的文化本质。太极拳的拳理概念很多,本文要研究的是关于太极拳理论中的“旋腰转脊、旋腰转胯”,用生物理学方法来解释太极拳搂膝拗步动作中,脊、腰、髋部的运动变化。而这三个身体部位的连接部位就是骨盆,由于运动中骨盆沿规定轴线在旋移,所以脊、腰、髋部,亦随其协调同步运动。本文采用运动生物力学中运动学和动力学的测量方法,对太极拳练习者骨盆运动的本质进行了研究,得出不同技术水平练习者完成杨式太极拳搂膝拗步过程中,骨盆运动的一些技术特征指导。太极拳动作中,骨盆运动是以“旋移”为主。骨盆绕Z-垂直轴和Y-冠状轴转动幅度变化要大,绕X-矢状轴转动幅度变化要小。前移的时候身体不是直进直退,而是旋移地往前移。如果骨盆的某一个角度方向变化小,其他角度方向变化就大了。这样动作会顺利地行进,而且能够保持动作的旋移性。以保持身体“中正”,骨盆绕X-矢状轴转动幅度变化要小。在步法过程中,重心向回旋移并左右脚跟着地的时候,因为绕Z-垂直轴的幅度要大,所以骨盆绕Y-冠状轴后仰。骨盆后仰的时候,躯干从头到尾闾变成一条直线,可以更好地当作身体的转轴,以便更好地转动在Z-垂直轴。在双支撑阶段,脚跟着地至弓步,骨盆绕Z-垂直、X-矢状以及Y-冠状等三轴转动角度达到曲线的最大变化。这个现象是“掤”的反应,是骨盆转动并准备蓄劲的意思。

BACKGROUND Unlike the already established effect of Helicobacter pylori(***)eradication on gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(MALT)lymphoma,its therapeutic effect on primary gastric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)is still *** To clarify the efficacy of *** eradication treatment for primary gastric *** We reported on 3 new cases,and added them to 3 previously reported *** analyzed the usefulness of *** eradication treatment for gastric DLBCL for a total of 6 cases at our *** Of the 6 patients(27-90 years old,3 males and 3 females),all 3 patients with single lesions(one transformed from MALT lymphoma)achieved complete remission(CR)after *** *** the 2 newly reported cases,CR was maintained for more than 6 years with eradication treatment *** contrast,none of the 3 patients with 2 lesions achieved *** 1 newly reported case,endoscopic CR was achieved in one lesion,while stable disease was obtained in the other *** patients with progressive disease responded to standard chemo therapy±radiation and remained in CR for more than 6 *** We believe it is worthwhile to attempt *** eradication for elderly patients with primary gastric DLBCL in a single lesion with a small tumor burden.

The outdoor thermal environment might become worse than at present. It causes health injuries through the deterioration of the outdoor thermal condition. It is necessary to study how humans stay outdoors and adjust to thermal conditions. The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of the outdoor tropical urban thermal environment on a subject who has been acclimatized to the environment studied using the outdoor thermal environment evaluation index ETFe. In addition, the tendency of human impacts was clarified through comparison to subjects from a temperate thermal environment region. As a result, it was found that an ETFe of up to 35°C could be recognized as a temperate thermal environment. However, when the ETFe was greater than 40°C, the subject could not tolerate the environment. There was not a significant difference of psychological reaction between Thai people, who were acclimatized to the tropical climate, and Japanese people, who were acclimatized to the temperate climate.

Complete surgical excision of venous malformations (VMs) is frequently complicated by massive bleeding and nerve damage, particularly in the cervicofacial area. This report describes a novel technique for the resection of cervicofacial VMs using the LigaSureTM (Valleylab, Tyco International Healthcare, Boulder, CO) vessel sealing system. We report three cases of VM excision using this vessel sealing system, and recorded intraoperative and postoperative blood loss, operative time, and postoperative complications. In all cases employing the LigasureTM, perioperative blood loss was less than 600 ml, no patients developed postoperative hematomas or other bleeding complications, and no patients developed a facial palsy even if the VM was located close to the facial nerve. LigaSureTM provides excellent hemostasis with few complications when used for cervicofacial VMs.

＜正＞ We have previously reported that centrally - acting antitussives inhibited G protein - coupled inwardly rectifying K（ + ）（GIRK） currents mediated by activation of 5 - HT（ 1A） receptors,and that the antitussives ameliorated overactive bladder and difficulty in urination in conscious rats with cerebral infarction. In this study,we investigated whether or not the antitussives rescue impairment of brain function caused by prenatal diethylstilbestrol （DES） exposure,since the antitussives appear to have a stabilizing effect on disturbance of brain functions. [ Methods ] DES was orally given at 0.1 μg/30 μ l/animal once a day for the 11th to 17th days of gestation in ddY strain mice. Cloperastine （CP） was subcutaneously given at 10 or 30 mg/kg twice a day from 32 to 41 days after birth of male mice. Passive avoidance response （PAR） test was performed at 6 week - old of the offspring. [Results] CP significantly prolonged latency of PAR. and increased the level of phosphorylated CaMKII in the hippocampus compared to that of control. In conclusion,the antitussives might rescue impairment of learning and memory caused by prenatal exposure to endocrine disrupters such as DES. possibly through inhibition of GIRK channel.

Architectural distortion is an important ultrasonographic indicator of breast cancer. However, it is difficult for clinicians to determine whether a given lesion is malignant because such distortions can be subtle in ultrasonographic images. In this paper, we report on a study to develop a computerized scheme for the histological classification of masses with architectural distortions as a differential diagnosis aid. Our database consisted of 72 ultrasonographic images obtained from 47 patients whose masses had architectural distortions. This included 51 malignant (35 invasive and 16 non-invasive carcinomas) and 21 benign masses. In the proposed method, the location of the masses and the area occupied by them were first determined by an experienced clinician. Fourteen objective features concerning masses with architectural distortions were then extracted automatically by taking into account subjective features commonly used by experienced clinicians to describe such masses. The k-nearest neighbors (k-NN) rule was finally used to distinguish three histological classifications. The proposed method yielded classification accuracy values of 91.4% (32/35) for invasive carcinoma, 75.0% (12/16) for noninvasive carcinoma, and 85.7% (18/21) for benign mass, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity values were 92.2% (47/51) and 85.7% (18/21), respectively. The positive predictive values (PPV) were 88.9% (32/36) for invasive carcinoma and 85.7% (12/14) for noninvasive carcinoma whereas the negative predictive values (NPV) were 81.8% (18/22) for benign mass. Thus, the proposed method can help the differential diagnosis of masses with architectural distortions in ultrasonographic images.

Minipreparation (MiniPrep) analysis is an essential step for obtaining a recombinant plasmid that carries a DNA insert containing a gene of interest. The most commonly used method for this involves cultivation of transformed Escherichia coli (E. coli) in liquid medium, brief centrifugation for precipitation of bacterial pellets, and subsequent lysis of the pellets. This process is time-consuming and laborious, especially when the sample number is high. Here, we describe a more convenient method for MiniPrep analysis that utilizes solid medium-based cultivation of bacteria.
