Feasibility of 0.02% Nb-Based Microalloyed Steel for the Application of One-Step Quenching and Partitioning Heat Treatment

To attain an enhanced combination of mechanical properties for low alloyed steel, the current study has been made to fulfill that growing need in the industry. Its results are introduced within this paper. One step Quenching and Partitioning (Q&P) heat treatment has been applied on Niobium-based microalloyed steel alloy with 0.2 %C, in the form of 2 mm thickness sheets. The target of this study is to investigate the viability of applying that significantly recommended, results-wise, heat treatment on the highly well-suited alloy steel samples, to achieve the main target of enhanced properties. A single temperature of 275°C was used as quenching and Partitioning temperature. Four Partitioning periods (30, 200, 500, and 1000 Seconds) were used for soaking at the same temperature. The results were analyzed in the light of microstructural investigation and mechanical testing. All applied cycles did not enhance the strength but moderately improved the ductility and toughness, mainly caused by the slightly high soaking temperature used. Niobium impact of grain refining was apparent through all cycles. The cycle of 500 Seconds Partitioning time obtained optimum values at that particular temperature. The 1000 Seconds Cycle obtained the worst combination of properties. A set of recommendations are set. More research is required at this point, where a lower Partitioning temperature is advised. In the light of the applied combination of parameters, the Partitioning period at such temperature is advised to be between 500 and 1000 Seconds. A high probability that periods closer to 500 than 1000 Seconds will produce better results. More research is needed between those two values of Partitioning time to precisely determine the optimum time at that temperature on that specific alloy.

AIM: To assess the diagnostic accuracy,of aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index(APRI) alone and with antischistosomal antibody(Ab) in patients with hepatitis C virus(HCV) and schistosomiasis coinfection. METHODS: This retrospective study included medical records of three hundred and eighty three Egyptianmen patients who had undergone percutaneous liver biopsy between January 2006 to April 2014 in tertiary care hospital in Qatar for diagnosis or monitoring purpose were selected. Data of patients > 18 years of age were included in the study. The values of HCV RNA titer and antischistosomal antibody titer were also taken into consideration. Patients were excluded from the study if they had any other concomitant chronic liver disease,including; history of previous antiviral or interferon therapy,immunosuppressive,therapy,chronic hepatitis B infection,human immunodeficiency virus co-infection,autoimmune hepatitis,decompensated liver disease,hepatocellular carcinoma,prior liver transplantation,and if no data about the liver biopsy present. RESULTS: Median age of patients was 46 years. About 7.1% had no fibrosis,whereas 30.4%,37.5%,20.4%,and 4.6% had fibrosis of stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and Ⅳ respectively. In bivariate analysis,APRI score,levels of AST,platelet count and age of patient showed statistically significant association with liver fibrosis(P < 0.0001); whereas antischistosomal antibody titer(P = 0.52) and HCV RNA titer(P = 0.79) failed to show a significant association. The respective AUC values for no fibrosis,significant fibrosis,severe fibrosis and cirrhosis of APRI score were 63%,73.2%,81.1% and 88.9% respectively. This showed good sensitivity and specificity of APRI alone for grading of liver fibrosis. But the inclusion of anti-Schistosoma antibody did not improve the prediction of fibrosis stage. Three hundred and eleven honeybee samples from 12 countries in the Middle East and North Africa （MENA）（Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Yemen, Palestine, and Sudan） were analyzed for the presence of deformed wing virus （DWV）. The prevalence of DWV throughout the MENA region was pervasive, but variable. The highest prevalence was found in Lebanon and Syria, with prevalence dropping in Palestine, Jordan, and Egypt before increasing slightly moving westwards to Algeria and Morocco Phylogenetic analysis of a 194 nucleotide section of the DWV Lp gene did not identify any significant phylogenetic resolution among the samples, although the sequences did show consistent regional clustering, including an interesting geographic gradient from Morocco through North Africa to Jordan and Syria. The sequences revealed several clear variability hotspots in the deduced amino acid sequence, which furthermore showed some patterns of regional identity. Furthermore, the sequence variants from the Middle East and North Africa appear more numerous and diverse than those from Europe.

Combined Action of Copper with IAA on Individual Amino Acids and Microelement in Pods of Two Broad Bean Cultivars

It is worthy to mention that the two broad bean cultivars displayed a surprising situation during the fruiting stage of growth. The absolute amount of pods yield was higher in cv. Assiut 125 than in cv. Assiut 84. This situation was in contrast with that in the vegetative stage, where cv. Assiut 84 produced greater vegetative growth than cv. Assiut 125. Although the cv. Assiut 84 was less affected by the highest dose of copper, the cv. Assiut 125 was greatly affected by this dose. However, another surprising situation was recorded when the absolute values of fresh and dry matter of cv. Assiut 125 were much higher than cv. Assiut 84 at any used copper concentration. The fresh matters of the pods of cv. Assiut 84 and cv. Assiut 125 were 7.24 and 10.16 gm at the level of control and 6.69 and 7.59 gm at the level of 350 ppm Cu, respectively. Their dry matters were 1.99 and 3.52 gm at the level of control and 1.77 and 2.13 gm at the level of 350 ppm Cu2+ in cv. Assiut 84 and cv. Assiut 125, respectively. This contradiction was also extended when these copper-affected cultivars were sprayed by IAA. The cv. Assiut 84 responded slightly to IAA treatment. On the other hand, a considerable increase in the dry matter yield was recorded in the pods of cv. Assiut 125 at any used level of copper when compared to the non-sprayed plants treated by the same copper concentration. At the level of 350 ppm Cu2+ , the pod yield was 2-fold that of plants treated only by 350 ppm Cu2+ , without IAA spraying. Thus, even IAA behaved differently in its effect on the crop yield of the two tested broad bean cultivars. There are big and surprising variations in the accumulation of microelements and heavy metals in pods among the two broad bean genotypes, whatever the treatments used. Prevalence and Correlates of Overweight and Obesity among School Children in Sohag, Egypt

Background: Continually rising prevalence of obesity and overweight in children and adolescents is a major public health concern. This is due to its various and serious health hazards on one side and its preventable nature on the other side. This study aims at identification of prevalence of overweight and obesity and its risk factors among children between 6 - 14 years of age in Sohag, Egypt. Method: A cross sectional study was conducted on 711 school children between 6 - 14 years in four months’ period from February to May 2016. Weight and height of the studied children were measured to calculate BMI, which was compared with standard Egyptian growth charts for determining overweight and obesity. Then a questionnaire containing data about socio demographic, parental obesity, early life and dietary risk factors was completed by the children’s parents. Result: Out of 711 studied children, 117 (16.5%) were overweight and 104 (14.6%) were obese. Residing in urban area, having an obese parent or both of them, low level of maternal education, being on formula feeding during early life and lack of fresh vegetables and fruits in diets were significant risk factors for overweight and obesity in the studied children (P value < 0.05). Conclusion: Improperly educated mothers together with sedentary life style manifested in obesity among the parents and lack of sport practice among children constituted the majors risk factors for childhood obesity. This emphasizes the need for increased health awareness of the community about the importance of proper nutrition and physical activity.

Objective:To identify the potentially harmful epiphytic Oscillatoriales species and follow up their distribution along Alexandria ***:Samples were collected bimonthly from April 2009 to February 2010 at three sites along Alexandria *** morphological and molecular analyses were used for identifying the dominant ***:Five species belonging to two families were identified;Oscillatoria acutissima,Oscillatoria nigroviridis,Oscillatoria sp.,Lyngbya majuscule and Phormidium *** cell density ranged from 10^(3)to 126×10^(3)filament g^(-1)fresh weight *** morphological study of the dominant species,Oscillatoria sp.(Oscillatoria sp.W1)showed much similarity with Planktothrix agardhii with no heterocysts and akinetes,while molecular ananlysis(16S rDNA)clustered the species in the same group with Anabaena ***:The 16S rDNA genes are not suitable for identifying Oscillatoriales during the present study and another molecular method should be used instead.

Convergence of Discrete Adomian Method for Solving a Class of Nonlinear Fredholm Integral Equations

In recent papers the solution of nonlinear Fredholm integral equations was discussed using Adomian decomposition method (ADM). For case in which the integrals are analytically impossible, ADM can not be applied. In this paper a discretized version of the ADM is introduced and the proposed version will be called discrete Adomian decomposition method (DADM). An accelerated formula of Adomian polynomials is used in calculations. Based on this formula, a new convergence approach of ADM is introduced. Convergence approach is reliable enough to obtain an explicit formula for the maximum absolute truncated error of the Adomian’s series solution. Also, we prove that the solution of nonlinear Fredholm integral equation by DADM converges to ADM solution. Finally, some numerical examples were introduced.

Background: Acute myeloid leukemia is a heterogeneous hematological malignancy with diversity in molecular, phenotypic and genetic alteration. Accurate assessment of prognosis is mandatory to reduce relapse, changing treatment related mortality, decision making for appropriate therapy protocols. Aim: A case control observational analytical study to assess the prognostic value of poliovirus (CD155) in acute myeloid leukemia and its significant in-patient stratification. Subject & Methods: 100 newly diagnosed de novo AML selected from oncology center, Mansoura University. Measurement of PVR (CD155) by multiparameter flow cytometry in addition to cytogenetic and molecular stratification. Results: Statistical stratification according to median cut off CD155 > 5.35. Higher expression was associated with an increased risk of death and relapse, LDH. While lower expression is associated with longer OS & DFS. Cox regression with univariate analysis revealed that LDH, molecular stratification, CD155 were significant risk factors for shorter OS, while positive expression of CD16, CD56 AML M3 were significantly associated with longer survival. Multivariate analysis revealed that CD155 was a significant risk factor for shorter OS. Conclusion: Variability in expression of CD155 in AML patients due to dual costimulatory and inhibitory function, high expression associated with tumor bulk and progression, short OS, increased relapse rate. Cox regression analysis shows its independent risk factor. It could be implemented in routine laboratory for risk stratification into low, high risk that needs more therapeutic modalities with new immunotherapy. In future could be targeted therapy such as PDL, CTLA-4 and open more therapeutic hope for those patients.

Protection Coordination Optimization for FREEDM （Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management） System

The FREEDM （future renewable electric energy delivery and management） system is a smart distribution system that facilitates seamless integration of high-penetration DRER （distributed renewable energy resources） and DESD （distributed energy storage devices） with the existing distribution system. Protection schemes have been proposed to detect the overcurrent faults throughout the FREEDM system, according to its requirements. In this paper the time inverse directional over current protection coordination scheme is developed as a backup protection when the primary protection communication failed. The proposed scheme is applied to FREEDM network using conventional mathematical model. To speed up the fault clearing time without coordination loss, the settings of the proposed relays in the two directions are minimized using genetic algorithm. The developed methods are validated using ETAP software. The results ensure that the faults throughout the FREEDM system sections are detected and the relays tripping time are minimized.
