The aim of this study was to determine the impact of thyme essential oil supplementation in rabbit rations on performance, carcass criteria, and meat quality under hot environmental conditions. A total of 75, 4-week-old Californian male rabbits were assigned to 5 dietary treatments until 12 weeks of *** rabbits were reared in an open house system(38C average ambient temperature and 26% to 35%relative humidity). Treatments were as follows: unsupplemented standard ration, negative control(CON); standard ration supplemented with 1.50 g/kg olive oil as carrier, positive control(POS);POS t 50 mg/kg thyme oil(TO1); POS t 100 mg/kg thyme oil(TO2); and POS t 150 mg/kg thyme oil(TO3). Dietary thyme oil up to 150 mg/kg improved(P mance in comparison to CON. The highest average daily gain and most efficient feed conversion ratio(linear,P me oil improved(P meat was greater(P mpared with CON. Differences were also recorded in oxymyoglobin and metmyoglobin contents in rabbit meat among treatments. In conclusion, thyme oil of a specified composition and to be added to a rabbit ration up to 100 mg/kg using 1.50 g/kg olive oil as a carrier can be used as an efficient feed additive for improving productive performance of rabbits under hot environmental conditions.

The current article covers the production of chitosan(CS)from shells of shrimp waste and its utilization in the preparation of eco-friendly imprinting and non-imprinting composites with Ulva lactuca algae(Alg).These bio-composites namely(Imp-Alg-25wt%CS)and(NImp-Alg-25wt%CS)were used for removal of Cd(II)*** transform infrared(FT-IR)spectra,scanning electron microscope(SEm)equipped with electron dispersive X-ray(EDX),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and elemental analysis measurements were performed to characterize these bio-composites *** highest adsorption of these sorbents towards Cd(II)ions was determined as a function of solutions pH,contact time,Cd(II)ion concentration,beads dose,and *** equilibrium experimental data were treated using various mathematical isotherm and kinetic models to approve the maximum bio-sorption capacities of NImp-Alg-25wt%CS and Imp-Alg-25wt%CS(in mg/g).The results exhibited that Imp-Alg-25wt%CS gave higher removal capacity than NImp-Alg-25wt%CS at the same optimum ***-2nd order dynamic and Langmuir isotherm models were well described in these biosorption ***,the removal behavior of Cd(II)using both bio-composites was spontaneous at room *** reusability of the sorbents,NImp-Alg-25wt%CS and Imp-Alg-25wt%CS,showed three *** addition,comparative study was also conducted for Cd(II)removal onto some reported sorbents.

The synthesis of biological silicon nano-particles(Bio-Si-NPs)is an eco-friendly and lowcost *** is no study focusing on the effect of Bio-Si-NPs on the plants grown on saline soil contaminated with heavy *** this study,an attempt was made to synthesis Bio-Si-NPs using potassium silica florid substrate,and the identified Aspergillus tubingensis Am11 isolate that separated from distribution systems of the potable water.A twoyear field trial was conducted to compare the protective effects of Bio-Si-NPs(2.5 and 5.0 mmol/L)and potassium silicate(10 mmol/L)as a foliar spray on the antioxidant defense system,physio-biochemical components,and the contaminants contents of Phaseolus vulgaris *** on saline soil contaminated with heavy *** findings showed that all treatments of Bio-Si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly improved plant growth and production,chlorophylls,carotenoids,transpiration rate,net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,membrane stability index,relative water content,free proline,total soluble sugars,N,P,K,Ca2+,K+/Na+,and the activities of peroxidase,catalase,ascorbic peroxidase and superoxide oxide *** of Bio-Si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly decreased electrolyte leakage,malondialdehyde,H2 O2,O2·-,Na+,Pb,Cd,and Ni in leaves and pods of Phaseolus vulgaris *** to ***-Si-NPs were more effective compared to potassium *** of Bio-Si-NPs at the rate of 5 mmol/L was the recommended treatment to enhance the performance and reduce heavy metals content on plants grown on contaminated saline soils.

Little information is available about the nutritive value of expanded soybean meal, which is produced by expansion of soybeans prior to solvent extraction of the oil. During processing, expanded soybean meal is subjected to additional heat, which might increase the concentration of ruminally undegraded protein. Processing of soybeans with heat during oil extraction could affect lysine availability by increasing ruminally undegraded protein or by impairing intestinal digestion. Our objective was to compare solvent and expanded soybeans with regard to chemical composition and nutritive value for dairy cattle. Samples of expanded soybean meal （n = 14） and solventextracted soybean meal （n = 5） were obtained from People＇s Republic of China to study effects of the expansion process on nutritive value for dairy cattle. Solvent-extracted soybean meal （n = 2） and mechanically extracted （heated） soybean meal （n = 2） from the United States served as references for comparison. Samples were analyzed for crude fat, long-chain fatty acids, crude protein, amino acids, chemically available lysine, in situ ruminal protein degradation, and in vitro intestinal digestibility. No differences were found between solvent-extracted soybean meals from China and expanded soybean meals from China for crude fat, crude protein, amino acids, or chemically available lysine. In situ disappearance of nitrogen, ruminally undegraded protein content, and in vitro intestinal digestion of the ruminally undegraded protein were generally similar between solvent-extracted soybean meals made in China and expanded soybean meals made in China; variation among soybean meals was small. Results indicate that the additional heat from the expansion process was not great enough to affect the nutritive value of soybean meal protein for ruminants. The milk thistle plant is one of the famous plants that have been gaining popularity for its therapeutic potential for centuries. milk thistle seed oil (mTSO) has been subjected to extensive research. The fixed oil was extracted from the seeds of Silybum marianum (L.) using petroleum ether as a solvent by a soxhlet device. GC-mS was used to identify the chemical composition of the oil. The antioxidant activity of mTSO was tested by the ABTS method, which showed the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation. In addition, antimicrobial and antifungal investigations were examined. It proved that mTSO has an inhibitory effect against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli), and antifungal effects (Candida albicans). mTSO has a slightly higher effectiveness against fungi than bacteria. moreover, the cytotoxic activities of the oil on hepatocellular and colorectal carcinoma were examined. mTSO has shown a moderate cytotoxic effect on the HCT-116 cell line and a weak effect on HePG-2. Whereas;in vivo study has been done on five diagnosed patients who have impaired liver function, and were recruited for the study. Their weight ranged from 100 ± 30 kg, their age range was between 39 - 50 years. Each patient was given ten drops of mTSO daily and added to a little water for a four-week study period. mTSO has effects to improve the function of the injured liver. The present work aims to study milk thistle seed oil, for estimating its pharmacological properties for the liver. This study focused on showing the importance of milk thistle seed oil in our lives as a source of antioxidants, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, and as an anti-cancer of the liver and colon. It also sheds light on its importance as a treatment for impaired liver, function and fatty liver, due to its improvement in all liver function markers, so it can be hired as an effective human therapy.

AIm:To study the effect of topical dorzolamide 2%on macular thickness reduction in diabetic cystoid macular edema(CmE).mETHODS:This was a prospective,non-randomized,open study including eyes with diabetic macular edema(DmE).All eyes received topical dorzolamide 2%three times daily for one *** in best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),and central macular thickness(CmT)by optical coherence tomography were evaluated at 1 wk,1,and 3 mo ***:Ninety-three eyes(84 patients)were ***±SD(log mAR)BCVA improved significantly from 1.08±0.26 pretreatment to 0.66±0.24 at 1 mo and 0.87±0.26 at 3 mo post-treatment(Pmean±SD CmT was significantly reduced from 535.27±97.4μm at baseline to 357.43±125.8μm at 1 mo and 376.23±114.5μm at 3 mo post-treatment(Pmic side effects were ***:Topical dorzolamide 2%results in significant improvement of mean BCVA and reduction of mean CmT at 3 mo *** can be used as an effective,affordable,and safe therapy for treatment of nonrefractory diabetic CmE.
