Colonoscopy represents a saf. procedure that is widely used in medical practice either to diagnose or treat various gastrointestinal *** the last f.w years,the incidence rate of.perf.rations in colonoscopic procedures has increased,especially in therapeutic *** recent advancements in endoscopic techniques and gastrointestinal tumoral resection procedures such as endoscopic mucosal resection,endoscopic f.ll-thickness resection,and endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)could be a risk f.ctor f.r this increased *** incidence rate of.mortality of.serious colonoscopic perf.rations is 7.1%.The management plan f.r these perf.rations starts with conservative treatment in mild cases,endoscopic closure,and surgical management in severe ***,endoluminal vacuum therapy was f.und to be ef.ective in the management of.colorectal perf.rations and this has been reported in multiple case *** editorial provides an overview of.the current guidelines f.r the management of.iatrogenic colorectal *** insights are f.om the perspectives of.endoscopists and *** also present a management algorithm based on the guidelines of.the European Society of.Gastrointestinal Endoscopy,the American Gastroenterological Association,and the World Society of.Emergency *** also discussed in brief.the use of.endoluminal vacuum therapy in colorectal perf.rations.

TAU is a microtubule-associated protein that promotes microtubule assembly and stability in the *** is missorted and aggregated in an array of.diseases known as *** are essential f.r neuronal f.nction and regulated via a complex set of.post-translational modif.cations,changes of.which af.ect microtubule stability and dynamics,microtubule interaction with other proteins and cellular structures,and mediate recruitment of.microtubule-severing *** impairment of.microtubule dynamics causes neuronal dysf.nction,we hypothesize cognitive impairment in human disease to be impacted by impairment of.microtubule *** theref.re aimed to study the ef.ects of.a disease-causing mutation of.TAU(P301L)on the levels and localization of.microtubule post-translational modif.cations indicative of.microtubule stability and dynamics,to assess whether P301L-TAU causes stability-changing modif.cations to *** investigate TAU localization,phosphorylation,and ef.ects on tubulin post-translational modif.cations,we expressed wild-type or P301L-TAU in human MAPT-KO induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neurons(i Neurons)and studied TAU in neurons in the hippocampus of.mice transgenic f.r human P301L-TAU(p R5 mice).Human neurons expressing the longest TAU isof.rm(2N4R)with the P301L mutation showed increased TAU phosphorylation at the AT8,but not the p-Ser-262 epitope,and increased polyglutamylation and acetylation of.microtubules compared with endogenous TAU-expressing neurons.P301L-TAU showed pronounced somatodendritic presence,but also successf.l axonal enrichment and a similar axodendritic distribution comparable to exogenously expressed 2N4R-wildtype-TAU.P301L-TAU-expressing hippocampal neurons in transgenic mice showed prominent missorting and tauopathy-typical AT8-phosphorylation of.TAU and increased polyglutamylation,but reduced acetylation,of.microtubules compared with non-transgenic *** sum,P301L-TAU results in changes in micr

AIM: To assess vitamin D (Vit D) abnormalities in hepatitis C inf.cted patients and their relationship with interleukin (IL)-17, IL-23 and N-terminal propeptide of.type Ⅲ pro-collagen (PⅢNP) as immune response mediators. METHODS: The study was conducted on 50 Egyptian patients (36 male, 14 f.male) with hepatitis C virus (HCV) inf.ction, who visited the Hepatology Outpatient Clinic in the Endemic Disease Hospital at Cairo University. Patients were compared with 25 ageand sexmatched healthy individuals. Inclusion criteria were based on a history of.liver disease with HCV genotype 4 (HCV-4) inf.ction (as new patients or under f.llowup). Based on ultrasonography, patients were classif.ed into f.ur subgroups; 14 with bright hepatomegaly; 11 with perihepatic f.brosis; 11 with hepatic cirrhosis; and 14 with cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Total Vit D (i.e., 25-OH-Vit D) and active Vit D [i.e., 1,25-(OH) 2 -Vit D] assays were carried out using commercial kits. IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP levels were assayed using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay kits, while HCV virus was measured by quantitative and qualitative polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS: Levels of.Vit D and its active f.rm were signif.cantly lower in advanced liver disease (hepatic cirrhosis and/or carcinoma) patients, compared to those with bright hepatomegaly and perihepatic f.brosis. IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP levels were markedly increased in HCV patients and correlated with the progression of.hepatic damage. The decrease in Vit D and active Vit D was concomitant with an increase in viral load, as well as levels of.IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP among all subgroups of.HCV-inf.cted patients, compared to normal healthy controls. A signif.cant negative correlation was evident between active Vit D and each of.IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP (r = -0.679, -0.801 and -0.920 at P ely). In the Wadi f.iran area, amphibolites occur as inclusions, bands, linear bodies of.variable thickness and irregular lenses in para-geneisses. Chemical evidence indicates that these amphibolites display an igneous origin and were derived f.om magma essentially of.tholelitic rather than alkaline composition; transitional in character between continental and island-arc. The chemistry of.amphiboles, related to pressure and temperature conditions of.metamorphism, showed that they were f.rmed under low pressure and high temperature conditions.

This study presents a new systematic algorithm to optimize the durability of.reinf.rced recycled aggregate *** proposed algorithm integrates machine learning with a new version of.the f.ref.y algorithm called chaotic based f.ref.y algorithm(Cf.)to evolve a rational and ef.icient predictive *** Cf. optimizer is augmented with chaotic maps and Levy f.ight to improve the f.ref.y perf.rmance in f.recasting the chloride penetrability of.strengthened recycled aggregate concrete(RAC).A comprehensive and credible database of.distinctive chloride migration coef.icient results is used to establish the developed algorithm.A dataset composite of.nine ef.ective parameters,including concrete components and f.ndamental characteristics of.recycled aggregate(RA),is used as input to predict the migration coef.icient of.strengthened RAC as output,k-f.ld cross validation algorithm is utilized to validate the hybrid *** numerical benchmark analyses are applied to prove the superiority and applicability of.the Cf. algorithm in predicting chloride *** show that the developed Cf. approach signif.cantly outperf.rms the f.ref.y algorithm on almost tested f.nctions and demonstrates powerf.l *** addition,the proposed strategy can be an active tool to recognize the contradictions in the experimental results and can be especially benef.cial f.r assessing the chloride resistance of.RAC.

Quartz-diorite, gneissose granodiorites, two-mica granite and perthite leucogranie are the main rock units cropping out in the Wadi Ghadir area, South Eastern Desert of.Egypt. Along the NNE-SSW mega-f.ults, a broad brittle shear zone is developed in the Ghadir two-mica granite. Brittle def.rmation is manif.sted by severe myloniti-zation and alteration of.these granites. These sheared altered granites are characterized by the presence of.radioactive mineralization, associated with alteration f.atures such as silicif.cation, hematization and kaolinitization. Radioelement measurements revealed that the unaltered and altered two-mica granites are considered as uranif.rous granites. The average uranium and thorium contents in the unaltered two-mica granites are 12.29×10-6 and 19.81×10-6, respectively, and the average Th/U ratio is 1.62. The altered granites exhibit higher concentrations of.U (averaging 97.949), but have lower Th and Th/U ratios (13.83 and 0.16, respectively), which indicates uranium enrichment in the granites. Binary relations of.eTh/eU against either eU or eTh and eU with eTh in the studied gran-ites suggest that the distribution of.radioactive elements not only magmatic (positive correlation between eU and eTh), but also due to hydrothermal redistribution of.radioelements (weak correlation between eU and eTh/eU). The magmatic U and Th are indicated by the presence of.uraninite, thorite, zircon and monazite whereas the evidence of.hydrothermal mineralization is the alteration of.rock-f.rming minerals such as f.0}dspar and the f.rma-tion of.secondary minerals such as uranophane and pyrite. Microscopic, XRD and scanning electron microscopic studies revealed the presence of.uraninite, uranophane, thorite, Ce-monazite and zircon, in addition to phlogopite-f.uor mica in the studied altered granites of.the Wadi Ghadir shear zone.
