Background:In Type 1 diabetes,the insulin-producingβ-cells within the pancreatic islets of Langerhans are *** showed previously that immunotherapy with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin(BCG)or complete Freund’s adjuvant(CFA)of non-obese diabetic(NOD)mice can prevent disease process and pancreaticβ-cell *** was associated with increased islet Regenerating(Reg)genes expression,and elevated IL-22-producing Th17 T-cells in the ***:We hypothesized that IL-22 was responsible for the increased Reg gene expression in the *** therefore quantified the Reg1,Reg2,and Reg3δ(INGAP)mRNA expression in isolated pre-diabetic NOD islets treated with *** measured IL-22,and IL-22 receptor(R)-αmRNA expression in the pancreas and spleen of pre-diabetic and diabetic NOD *** results showed:1)Reg1 and Reg2 mRNA abundance to be significantly increased in IL-22-treated islets in vitro;2)IL-22 mRNA expression in the pre-diabetic mouse pancreas increased with time following CFA treatment;3)a reduced expression of IL-22Rαfollowing CFA treatment;4)a down-regulation in Reg1 and Reg2 mRNA expression in the pancreas of pre-diabetic mice injected with an IL-22 neutralizing antibody;and 5)an increased isletβ-cell DNA synthesis in vitro in the presence of ***:We conclude that IL-22 may contribute to the regeneration ofβ-cells by up-regulating Regenerating Reg1 and Reg2 genes in the islets.

Basis for the diversity and extent in loss of digestible nutrients created by dietary phytin: Emphasis on fowl and swine

Phytin is the Ca 2+ -Mg 2+ -K + salt of phytic acid that is created and deposited in the aleurone layer and/or germ of grains and legumes. Its high presence in feedstuffs for fowl and swine diets results in it being a universal and significant impediment to optimum performance. Phytin impairs gastrointestinal recovery of a wide array of nutrients, the effect varying with the nutrient concerned. On exposure to low pH during gastric digestion, phytin dissociates into phytic acid and solubilized Ca 2+ . Even at low gastric pH, phytic acid is negatively charged which forms the basis of its anti-nutritive behavior. Pepsinogen has extensive basic amino acids on its activation peptide that are presented as cations at low pH which are targeted by pepsin for activation. Partially crystalized Ca 2+ near the enzyme's active site further stabilizes its newly formed structure. Thus, phytic acid appears to interfere with gastric digestion by several mechanisms; interfering with pepsinogen activation by binding to the polypeptide's basic amino acids; coordinating free Ca 2+ , destabilizing pepsin; binding some dietary proteins directly, further compromising gastric proteolysis. Upon digesta attaining neutrality in the duodenum, Ca 2+ and other cations re-bind with accessible anions, phytic acid being a significant contender. Phytate not only binds free cations but can also strip them from enzymes (e.g. Ca 2+ , Zn 2+ ) which reduces their structural resistance to autolysis and ability as co-factors (e.g. Zn 2+ ) to increase enzyme activity. Goblet cells initially employ Ca 2+ as an electronic shield between mucin layers enabling granule formation and cell storage. After mucin granule release, Ca 2+ is progressively displaced by Na + to free the viscous mucins enabling its translocation. Mucin entangles with the glycocalyx of adjacent enterocytes thereby constructing the unstirred water layer (USWL). Excessive removal of Ca 2+ from mucin by phytic acid increases its fluidity facilit

Basalt fiber reinforcement in polymer matrix composites is becoming more and more popular because of its environmental friendliness and mechanical qualities that are comparable to those of synthetic *** fiber strengthened vinyl ester matrix polymeric composite with filler addition of nano-and micro-sized silicon carbide(SiC)element spanning from 2 weight percent to 10 weight percent was studied for its mechanical and wear *** application of Artificial Neural Network(ANN)to correlate the filler addition composition for optimum mechanical properties is required due to the non-linear mechanical and tribological features of *** stuffing blend and composition of the composite are optimized using the hybrid model and Genetic Algorithm(GA)to maximize the mechanical and wear-resistant *** predicted and tested ANN–GA optimal values obtained for the composite combination had a tensile,flexural,impact resilience,hardness and wear properties of 202.93 MPa,501.67 MPa,3.460 J/s,43 HV and 0.196 g,respectively,for its optimum combination of filler and *** can be noted that the nano-sized SiC filler particle enhances most of the properties of the composite which diversifies its *** predicted mechanical and wear values of the developed ANN–GA model were in closer agreement with the experimental values which validate the model.

A model fermion has been produced in a theory of quantum gravity that establishes the existence of a mass gap and half-integral spin. The third requirement for the fermion is electric charge. We herein develop a dualism-based analysis that explains the origin of charge at the fermion scale in a primordial field theory of quantum gravity.

The Origin of Quarks in Quantum Gravity

A theory of quantum gravity has recently been developed by the author based on the concept that all forces converge to one at the moment of Creation. This primordial field can only interact with itself, as no other field exists, contrasting with the Standard Model of Particle Physics in which each elementary particle is an excitation in its own quantum field. The primordial field theory of quantum gravity has produced a model of a fermion with a mass gap, ½-integral spin, discrete charge, and magnetic moment. The mass gap is based on an existence theorem that is anchored in Yang-Mills, while Calabi-Yau anchors ½-integral spin, with charge and magnetic moment based on duality. Based on N-windings, this work is here extended to encompass fractional charge, with the result applied to quarks, yielding fermion mass and charge in agreement with experiment and novel size correlations and a unique quantum gravity-based ontological understanding of quarks.

Calabi-Yau Topology of Primordial Fermions

Quantum field theory creates fermions via abstract operators exciting abstract fields, with a specific field for each type of specific particle. This operator algebra lends itself well to quantum statistics, nevertheless, our physical understanding of this process is nonintuitive at best. In this paper we analyze the creation of fermions from primordial gauge field quantum gravity loops in the context of Calabi-Yau manifold theory. I extend a prior mass-gap treatment based on Yang-Mills gauge theory of higher order self-interaction to include the half-integral spin of fermions.

Artificial Intelligence as a Check on Logic

Math and physics proceed from assumptions to conclusions via a logical path. Artificial intelligence possesses the ability to follow logic, herein specifically applied to the problem of defining ontologically real 2D manifolds in a 3D continuum. Vortices and tori in fluids exhibit effective 2D surfaces, which, treated as manifolds, allow application of calculus on the boundaries of the structures. Recent papers in primordial field theory (PFT) have employed Calabi-Yau geometry and topology to develop a fermion structure. We desire a logical justification of this application and herein explore the use of artificial intelligence to assist in logic verification. A proof is outlined by the author and formalized by the AI.
