为了提高我们监测和预报天气、气候和某些突发性自然灾害的能力,我们需拥有高度协调的观测和自主决策手段。业已提出一种空间敏感器网的方案,作为解决这一迫切要求的潜在技术途径。本文介绍这一技术方案的两种候选应用,阐述这一方案的能力及其独特的结构特性,概述为成功开发空间敏感器网体系结构而必须突破的关键技术。最后提出,除了克服各种技术障碍外,实现空间敏感器网的基本技术挑战是我们要拥有并执行一个长期战略,部署一系列与之相兼容的航天飞行任务,充分展现设想中的空间敏感器网的巨大潜力。

Mining in tailings dams has emerged as a strategic alternative for mining companies for both economic and environmental reasons. Owing to technological limitations in recent decades, many of these dams have high metal contents, emphasizing the need to evaluate the quality of these residues, especially considering the technological advancements in current concentration plants. An economic viability analysis associated with reusing these materials is crucial. From an environmental point of view, improving mining techniques for dams by considering both safety and feasibility is an advantageous option in decommissioning processes and alignment in the circular economy. In this context, representing these tailings in terms of grade quality and granulometry, as well as the associated contaminants, is essential. Geostatistical estimation and simulation methods are valuable tools for modeling tailings bodies, but they require a reliable sampling campaign to ensure acceptably low errors. From an operational perspective, tailings recovery can be conducted via dry methods, such as mechanical excavation, or hydraulic methods, such as dredging or hydraulic blasting. Dredging is a commonly used method, and cutter suction dredgers, which require pumping to transport fragmented material, are the most commonly used tools. In this paper, some practical applications of geostatistical methods for resource quantification in tailings dams will be discussed. Additionally, the main mining methods for tailings recovery in dams will be presented. Emphasis will be given to the dredging method, along with the key analysis parameters for sizing dredgers, pumps, and pipelines.

AIM:To evaluate the impact of metadoxine(MTD) on the 3- and 6-mo survival of patients with severe alcoholic hepatitis(AH).METHODS:This study was an open-label clinical trial,performed at the"Hospital General de México,*** Liceaga".We randomized 135 patients who met the criteria for severe AH into the following groups:35 patients received prednisone(PDN)40 mg/d,35patients received PDN+MTD 500 mg three times daily,33 patients received pentoxifylline(PTX)400 mg three times daily,and 32 patients received PTX+MTD 500 mg three times *** duration of the treatment for all of the groups was 30 ***:In the groups treated with the MTD,thesurvival rate was higher at 3 mo(PTX+MTD 59.4%vs PTX 33.3%,P=0.04;PDN+MTD 68.6%vs PDN20%,P=0.0001)and at 6 mo(PTX+MTD 50%vs PTX18.2%,P=0.01;PDN+MTD 48.6%vs PDN 20%,P=0.003)than in the groups not treated with MTD.A relapse in alcohol intake was the primary independent factor predicting mortality at 6 *** patients receiving MTD maintained greater abstinence than those who did not receive it(74.5%vs 59.4%,P=0.02).CONCLUSION:MTD improves the 3-and 6-mo survival rates in patients with severe *** abstinence is a key factor for survival in these *** patients who received the combination therapy with MTD were more likely to maintain abstinence than those who received monotherapy with either PDN or PTX.

Background: Intussusception is defined as a telescoping of a proximal gastrointestinal segment with its mesentery to a distal one, only 5% occur in adults and in colon the probability that it is caused by a malignant disease is up to 65%. Only 1% occurs in a retrograde manner, the rest occur in an anterograde manner. Aim: Describe the clinical presentation of an intussusception in the adult patient as well as its most frequent causes and possible complications that influence decision making for a definitive treatment. Case Presentation: A 66-year-old woman diagnosed with colon adenocarcinoma who underwent elective transverse colectomy and colonic anastomosis with an incidental finding of a transverse colon tumor in a retrograde intussusception was studied. Conclusion: In any adult patient with an intussusception especially in colon a neoplasia should be suspected and the affected segment should be resected without being reduced due to the risk of perforation and tumor dissemination.

AIM: To identify a mean platelet volume(MPV) cutoff value which should be able to predict the presence of bacterial ***: An observational, analytic, retrospective study. We evaluated medical records of cirrhotic patients who were hospitalized from January 2012 to January 2014 at the Gastroenterology Department of "Hospital General de México Dr. eduardo Liceaga", we included 51 cirrhotic patients with ascites fluid infection(AFI), and 50 non-infected cirrhotic patients as control group. Receiver operator characteristic curves were used to identify the best cutoff value of several parameters from hematic cytometry, including MPV, to predict the presence of ascites fluid ***: Of the 51 cases with AFI, 48 patients(94.1%) had culture-negative neutrocytic ascites(CNNA), 2(3.9%) had bacterial ascites, and one(2%)had spontaneous bacterial peritonitis. Infected patients had greater count of leucocytes and polymorphonuclear cells, greater levels of MPV and cardiac frequency(P 0.80). A cutoff MPV value of 8.3 fl was the best to discriminate between cirrhotic patients with AFI and those without infection. CONCLUSION: Our results support that MPV can be an useful predictor of systemic inflammatory response syndrome in cirrhotic patients with AFI, particularly CNNA.
