The Ria de Aveiro lagoon has been considered one of the most important Southern European long-term monitoring sites(LTER-site)concerning climate change and anthropogenic ***,studies concerning pesticide contamination herein are few and mostly ***,56 pesticides dissolved in the aqueous phase(DAP)and suspended particulate matter(SPM)were examined to fill the knowledge gap,considering the hydrophobic nature of most evaluated *** samples were taken seasonally from eight sites,and both DAP and SPM fractions were analysed by gas-chromatography-mass *** annual average concentrations of fungicides,herbicides and insecticides were≈57 ng/L,≈409 ng/L and≈1058 ng/L in DAP and≈7μg/g,≈28μg/g and≈67μg/g in *** pesticides and the excessive phosphate concentrations suggest that the lagoon's water quality may be hazardous to biota and *** were identified as the most threatened trophic level using deterministic risk assessment,with chlorpyriphos and chlorfenvinphos being the primary *** experiments with Artemia and Daphnia supported the suppositions.

The Rhyacian El Cortijo suture zone: Aeromagnetic signature and insights for the geodynamic evolution of the southwestern Rio de la Plata craton, Argentina

The amalgamation of the southern Rio de la Plata craton involves two possibly coeval Rhyacian sutures associated with the Transamazonian orogeny, rather than a single one as previously envisaged, i.e. the El Cortijo suture zone and the Salado suture. We circumscribe the Tandilia terrane to the region between these two sutures. The E1 Cortijo suture zone runs along a roughly WNW oriented magnetic low aligned along the southern boundary of the Tandilia terrane, i.e. boundary between the Tandilia and Balcarce terranes. This extensive magnetic low, ca. 300 km long, and ca. 90 km wide, would be caused by demagnetization associated with shearing. At a more local scale, the trend of the El Cortijo suture zone often turns toward the E-W. At this scale, WNW trending tholeiitic dykes of Statherian age are seen to cut the Rhyacian E1 Cortijo suture zone. Spatially associated with the El Corti]o suture zone, there are small magnetic highs interpreted to be related to unexposed basic bodies of ophiolitic nature related to those forming part of the El Cortijo Formation. We envisage the pre-Neoproterozoic evolution of the Tandilia belt to have been initiated by the extension of Neoarchean （ - 2650 Ma） crust occurred during Siderian times （2500-2300 Ma）, causing the separation between the Balcarce, Tandilia and Buenos Aires terranes, and the development of narrow oceans at both north and south sides of the Tandilia terrane, accompanied by -2300-2200 Ma sedi- mentation over transitional -continental to oceanic- crust, and arc magmatism developed in the Tan- dilia terrane. The island arc represented by the El Cortijo Formation was also developed at this time. At late Rhyacian times, it occurred in both the closure of the narrow oceans developed previously, the entrapment of the El Cortijo island arc, as well as anatectic magmatism in the Balcarce terrane.

Vitamin E,a soluble antioxidant widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries,is rich in tocopherols and *** vitamin E molecules are highly sensitive to oxidation,encapsulation is a viable and effective technique for preservation of the properties of Vitamin E and improving its stability during storage,maintaining the nutritional *** this work,the aim was to encapsulate concentrated vitamin E using a combination of Ultra-Turrax and ultrasonication to achieve higher encapsulation efficiency in spray *** the first stage,the vitamin E oil was encapsulated employing only Ultra-Turrax homogenization,with subsequent optimization of spray *** coating materials used were maltodextrin and whey protein *** of the spray drying step evaluated the effects of the drying air temperature(T)and the feed flow rate(Q),to obtain better yields and a high-quality *** the second stage,the use of ultrasonication in an additional homogenization step was evaluated,aiming to further improve the encapsulation *** results showed that the best drying conditions(first stage)were T=180℃ and Q=0.6 L/h,which provided the highest yield(67.73%)and high encapsulation efficiency(73.73%).The microspheres produced had similar properties,with mean diameters ranging from 0.64 to 12.99μ*** the second stage of the investigation,the application of ultrasonication immediately after the Ultra-Turrax homogenization enabled the encapsulation efficiency to be increased to 94.05%,with a yield of 57.54%,using an ultrasonication time of only 7 *** showed that addition of the ultrasonic homogenization step to the process greatly improved the encapsulation efficiency and could be used to produce vitamin E-enriched powder microcapsules by spray drying,with application in the food industry.

Wax obtained from the pyrolysis of polyethylene waste can contain inorganic contaminants and must be purified before *** evaluated different filter aids(perlite,sand,and rice husk ash)for the filtration of a crude wax and a pyrolysis wax through a filter medium that was coated with nylon 6 nanofibers to improve filtration *** first examined the performance of the filter aids in improving crude wax filtration,with the filtration time,temperature,and pressure held constant at 1 h,170℃,and 2.5 bar,*** wax was then produced by pyrolysis of high-density polyethylene(HDPE)waste in the temperature range 425-475℃.The best filter aid was perlite,which had a filtrate production rate of 5.47×10^(-5)m^(3)/*** highest oily wax yield(87.8%)was achieved at a pyrolysis temperature of 425℃.The assembly comprising the filter medium coated with nylon 6 nanofibers plus perlite as a filter aid was most suitable for removing impurities from the oily wax generated by the HDPE pyrolysis as it achieved a purification efficiency of 99.9%.

TTie Ultisols in the Rana de Canamero area in Southwest Spain showed aluminum(Al)phytotoxicity,and the clearance of natural vegetation and decades of intensive conventional agriculture caused the deplation of soil organic matter(SoM).Therefore,we studied the long-term effects of no tillage and liming using sugar beet foam(SF)and red gypsum(RG),alone or in combination,on the restoration of Ultisols affected by acidification,Al phytotoxicity,and SoM *** measured the main soil chemical properties,soil microbial biomass,soil enzyme activities involved in carbon,nitrogen,phosphorus,and sulfur mineralization,and the emission of volatile organic compounds(VoCs).The results indicated that liming effectively neutralized the soil acidity in the long term and,in combination with no tillage,significantly increased soil microbial biomass and enzyme ***-three VoCs were detected using the proton transfer reaction-time of flight(PTR-ToF)technique,and both liming and tillage changed the VoC emission *** greatest difference in VoC emission pattern was observed between no-tilled un-amended soils and tilled lime-amended soils,suggesting the activation of different metabolic pathways within the microbial communities of soils under different *** in VoC emission patterns could be attributed to the decomposition of carbohydrates,which were also sustained by the higher enzyme activities in the lime-amended soils.

This research aimed to analyze the possibility to estimate and automatically map large areas of soybean cultivation through the use of MoDIS(Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer)*** major techniques were used:GEographic-object-Based Image Analysis(GEoBIA)and Data Mining(DM).In order to obtain the images,the segmentation algorithm implemented by Definiens Developer was used.A decision tree(DT)was created from a training set previously ***-series of images from the MoDIS sensor aboard the Terra satellite were acquired in order to represent the wide variation of the vegetation pattern along the soybean crop *** time-series data were used only for the CEI ***,to compare the results obtained from GEoBIA,the slicing technique was used at the CEI *** the training,the DT was applied to the vegetation indices generating the thematic map of the spatial distribution of *** accordance with the error matrix and kappa parameter analysis,tests for statistical significance were *** indicate that the classification achieved by Kappa coefficients is *** short,the obtained results proved that combining vegetation indices and time-series data using GEoBIA return promising results for mapping soybean plantation on a regional scale.
