Molecular phylogenies using 1–4 gene regions and information on ecology,morphology and pigment chemistry were used in a partial revision of the agaric family *** phylogenetically supported genera we recognize here in the Hygrophoraceae based on these and previous analyses are:Acantholichen,Ampulloclitocybe,Arrhenia,Cantharellula,Cantharocybe,Chromosera,Chrysomphalina,Cora,Corella,Cuphophyllus,Cyphellostereum,Dictyonema,Eonema,Gliophorus,Haasiella,Humidicutis,Hygroaster,Hygrocybe,Hygrophorus,Lichenomphalia,Neohygrocybe,Porpolomopsis and Pseudoarmillariella.A new genus that is sister to Chromosera is described as *** were made at the ranks of subfamily,tribe,genus,subgenus,section and *** present three new subfamilies,eight tribes(five new),eight subgenera(one new,one new combination and one ***.),26 sections(five new and three new combinations and two ***.)and 14 subsections(two new,two ***.).Species of Chromosera,Gliophorus,Humidicutis,and Neohygrocybe are often treated within the genus Hygrocybe;we therefore provide valid names in both classification *** used a minimalist approach in transferring genera and creating new names and ***,we retain in the Hygrophoraceae the basal cuphophylloid grade comprising the genera Cuphophyllus,Ampulloclitocybe andCantharocybe,despite weak phylogenetic *** include Aeruginospora and Semiomphalina in Hygrophoraceae based on morphology though molecular data are *** lower hygrophoroid clade is basal to Hygrophoraceae s.s.,comprising the genera Aphroditeola,Macrotyphula,Phyllotopsis,Pleurocybella,Sarcomyxa,Tricholomopsis and Typhula.

Tree mortality and biomass loss in drought-aff ected forests of East Texas,USA

Changes in tree mortality due to severe drought can alter forest structure,composition,dynamics,ecosystem services,carbon fl uxes,and energy interactions between the atmosphere and land *** utilized long-term(2000‒2017,3 full inventory cycles)Forest Inventory and Analysis(FIA)data to examine tree mortality and biomass loss in drought-aff ected forests for East Texas,*** that experienced six or more years of droughts during those censuses were selected based on 12-month moderate drought severity[Standardized Precipitation Evaporation Index(SPEI)-1.0].Plots that experienced other disturbances and inconsistent records were excluded from the *** total,222 plots were retained from nearly 4000 *** nonlinear mixed models(GNMMs)were used to examine the changes in tree mortality and recruitment rates for selected *** results showed that tree mortality rates and biomass loss to mortality increased overall,and across tree sizes,dominant genera,height classes,and *** average mortality rate of 5.89%year−1 during the study period could be incited by water stress created by the regional prolonged and episodic drought *** overall plot and species-group level recruitment rates decreased during the study *** mortality showed mixed results regarding basal area and forest density using all plots together and when analyzed the plots by stand origin and *** mortality rates of smaller trees were detected and were likely compounded by densitydependent *** analysis of drought-induced tree mortality using hydro-meteorological data along with drought severity and length gradient is suggested to better understand the eff ects of drought on tree mortality and biomass loss around and beyond East Texas in the southeastern United States.

The reversed intra- and extracellular pH in tumors as a unified strategy to chemotherapeutic delivery using targeted nanocarriers

Solid tumors are complex entities,comprising a wide variety of malignancies with very different molecular *** this,they share a set of characteristics known as"hallmarks of cancer"that can be used as common therapeutic ***,every tumor needs to change its metabolism in order to obtain the energy levels required for its high proliferative rates,and these adaptations lead to alterations in extra-and intracellular *** changes in p H are common to all solid tumors,and can be used either as therapeutic targets,blocking the cell proton transporters and reversing the pH changes,or as means to specifically deliver anticancer *** this review we will describe how proton transport inhibitors in association with nanocarriers have been designed to block the pH changes that are needed for cancer cells to survive after their metabolic *** will also describe studies aiming to decrease intracellular pH in cancer using nanoparticles as molecular cages for protons which will be released upon UV or IR light ***,we will comment on several studies that have used the extracellular pH in cancer for an enhanced cell internalization and tumor penetration of nanocarriers and a controlled drug delivery,describing how nanocarriers are being used to increase drug stability and specificity.

biodegradable magnesium implants offer a solution for bone repair without the need for implant ***,concerns persist regarding peri-implant gas accumulation,which has limited their widespread clinical ***,there is a need to minimise the mass of magnesium to reduce the total volume of gas generated around the *** porosity is a direct approach to reducing the mass of the implants,but it also decreases the strength and degradation *** study demonstrates that the infiltration of a calcium phosphate cement into an additively manufactured WE43 Mg alloy scaffold with 75% porosity,followed by hydrothermal treatment,yields biodegradable magnesium/hydroxyapatite interpenetrating phase composites that generate an order of magnitude less hydrogen gas during degradation than WE43 *** enhanced degradation resistance results from magnesium passivation,allowing osteoblast proliferation in indirect contact with ***,the composites exhibit a compressive strength 1.8 times greater than that of the scaffolds,falling within the upper range of the compressive strength of cancellous *** results emphasise the potential of the new biodegradable interpenetrating phase composites for the fabrication of temporary osteosynthesis *** cement hardening and magnesium passivation during hydrothermal processing is crucial for achieving both high compressive strength and low degradation rate.

Magnesium and calcium phosphates composites are promising biomaterials to create biodegradable load-bearing implants for bone regeneration. The present investigation is focused on the design of an interpenetrated magnesium- tricalcium phosphate （Mg-TCP） composite and its evaluation under immersion test. In the study, TCP porous preforms were fabricated by robocasting to have a prefect control of porosity and pore size and later infiltrated with pure commercial Mg through current-assisted metal infiltration （CAMI） technique. The microstructure, composition, distribution of phases and degradation of the composite under physiological simulated conditions were analysed by scanning electron microscopy, elemental chemical analysis and X-ray diffraction. The results revealed that robocast TCP preforms were full infiltrated by magnesium through CAMI, even small pores below 2 μm have been filled with Mg, giving to the composite a good interpenetration. The degradation rate of the Mg-TCP composite displays lower value compared to the one of pure Mg during the first 24 h of immersion test.
