User profiles representing users’preferences and interests play an important role in many applications of personalized *** the rapid growth of social platforms,there is a critical need for efficient solutions to learn user profiles from the information they shared on social platforms so as to improve the quality of recommendation *** problem of user profile learning is significantly challenging due to difficulty in handling data from multiple sources,in different formats and often associated with *** this paper,we introduce an integrated approach that combines advanced Machine Learning techniques with evidential reasoning based on Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence for user profiling and *** developed methods for user profile learning and multi-criteria collaborative filtering are demonstrated with experimental results and analysis that show the effectiveness and practicality of the integrated approach.A proposal for extending multi-criteria recommendation systems by incorporating user profiles learned from different sources of data into the recommendation process so as to provide better recommendation capabilities is also highlighted.

We report new heterogeneous organocatalyst based on silica hybrid supported N-heterocyclic carbene(NHC-)*** organocatalyst is formed from an imidazolium iodide based ionosilica material,followed by iodide/acetate anion *** imidazolium acetate generates the organocatalytic carbene via partial deprotonation of the imidazolium ring in *** monitored via EDX,solid state NMR and ion chromatography measurements,the iodide/acetate exchange involving the imidazolium ionosilica material took place only in small *** the fact that the exchanged material contains only a very small amount of acetate,we observed good catalytic activity and recyclability in cyanosilylation reactions of ketones with trimethylsilyl *** versatility of the catalyst was highlighted via reaction with several substrates,yielding the corresponding cyanohydrins in good *** recycling experiments,the material showed decreasing catalytic activity starting from the third reaction cycle,but high catalytic activity can be regenerated via another acetate *** work is important as it highlights the possibility to combine carbene chemistry and silica,which are antagonistic at a first *** show that imidazolium acetate based ionosilicas are therefore heterogeneous'proto-carbenes',and that there is no need to form strongly basic silica supported NHCs to obtain heterogeneous *** work therefore opens the route towards heterogeneous and re-usable NHC-organocatalysts from supported ionic liquid imidazolium acetates.

This study considered and predicted blast-induced ground vibration(PPV)in open-pit mines using bagging and sibling techniques under the rigorous combination of machine learning ***,four machine learning algorithms,including support vector regression(SVR),extra trees(ExTree),K-nearest neighbors(KNN),and decision tree regression(DTR),were used as the base models for the purposes of combination and PPV initial *** bagging regressor(BA)was then applied to combine these base models with the efforts of variance reduction,overfitting elimination,and generating more robust predictive models,abbreviated as BA-ExTree,BAKNN,BA-SVR,and *** is emphasized that the ExTree model has not been considered for predicting blastinduced ground vibration before,and the bagging of ExTree is an innovation aiming to improve the accuracy of the inherently ExTree model,as *** addition,two empirical models(i.e.,USBM and Ambraseys)were also treated and compared with the bagging models to gain a comprehensive *** this aim,we collected 300 blasting events with different parameters at the Sin Quyen copper mine(Vietnam),and the produced PPV values were also *** were then compiled as the dataset to develop the PPV predictive *** results revealed that the bagging models provided better performance than the empirical models,except for the BA-DTR *** those,the BA-ExTree is the best model with the highest accuracy(i.e.,88.8%).Whereas,the empirical models only provided the accuracy from 73.6%–76%.The details of comparisons and assessments were also presented in this study.

The hydrogel sponges have prepared successfully from gelatin/chitosan(GEL/CTS) matrix with different polyols basing on scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) analysis. The results indicate that the compressibility and thermal properties(thermal gravimetric analysis, TGA) were improved significantly with adding the different polyols [poly(vinyl alcohol)-PVA, and poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(propylene glycol)-poly(ethylene glycol) – PEPEG] into GEL/CTS matrix. Specially, the as-prepared hydrogel sponges with superabsorbent behavior were also investigated with the attained water absorption capacity to 605 g gand 585 g gfor GCV＿1/1/0.3 and GCE＿1/1/0.3 sponges, respectively, as well as the excellent water absorption capacity in a wide range of p H and salt concentration. Hence, these studies demonstrated that the hydrogel sponges are concerned as potential and promising candidates to apply especially in the fields of biomedicine and hygiene.

Brookite TiO2nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD), diffuse reflectance UV–Visible spectroscopy(DRUV), and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The obtained particles were spherical in shape with the diameter of about ～10 nm under the hydrothermal temperature of 175 °C. The photocatalytic performance of brookite was investigated in the photodegradation of dyes(rhodamine B and rose bengal) under UV-A radiation by low-power lamp. The activity of brookite and the photodegradation efficiency of dyes were estimated using a UV–Visible spectrophotometer and a total organic carbon(TOC) analyzer. Compared to anatase and rutile prepared by the similar synthesis procedure, brookite is highly active in terms of decolourization, aromatic ring opening, and mineralization.

A novel route to the fabrication of hierarchical mesoporous Nd_2O_3 nanostructures including nanospheres and nanoporous network was described. Their structure and morphology evolution of the as-synthesized materials were determined by various techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transforminfrared spectra, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherm, and a formation mechanism was proposed. The results revealed that the Nd_2O_3 nanospheres had the diameter of 300 nm, which were composed of small primary nanoparticles（NPs） with the size of 10 nm. The nanoporous structure also formed the NPs of ca. 10 nm which were connected with each other to form a three-dimensional（3D） texture. This simple and mild approach to fabricate hierarchical mesoporous Nd_2O_3 nanostructures could be easily scaled up and potentially extended to synthesize other oxide hierarchical structures.

Determination of fuel burnup distribution of a research reactor based on measurements at subcritical conditions

This paper presents the determination of the fuel burnup distribution of the Dalat nuclear research reactor(DNRR) using a method of measurements at subcritical conditions. The method is based on the assumption of linear dependence of the reactivity on the burnup of fuel bundles and the measurements at subcritical *** measurements were taken for seven selected fuel bundles in two different measuring sequences. The measured burnup values have also been compared with the calculations for verifying the method and the measurement procedure. The results obtained with the three detectors have a good agreement with each other with a discrepancy less than 1.0%. The errors of the measured burnup values are within 6%. Comparison between the calculated and measured burnup values shows that the discrepancy of the C/E ratio is within 9% compared to unity. The results indicate that the method of measurements at subcritical conditions could be well applied to determine the relative burnup distribution of the DNRR.

Fog computing is an emerging architecture intended for alleviating the network burdens at the cloud and the core network by moving resource-intensive functionalities such as computation, communication, storage, and analytics closer to the End Users (EUs). In order to address the issues of energy efficiency and latency requirements for the time-critical Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications, fog computing systems could apply intelligence features in their operations to take advantage of the readily available data and computing resources. In this paper, we propose an approach that involves device-driven and human-driven intelligence as key enablers to reduce energy consumption and latency in fog computing via two case studies. The first one makes use of the machine learning to detect user behaviors and perform adaptive low-latency Medium Access Control (MAC)-layer scheduling among sensor devices. In the second case study on task offloading, we design an algorithm for an intelligent EU device to select its offloading decision in the presence of multiple fog nodes nearby, at the same time, minimize its own energy and latency objectives. Our results show a huge but untapped potential of intelligence in tackling the challenges of fog computing。

Target tracking has a wide range of applications in intelligent transportation,real‐time monitoring,human‐computer interaction and other ***,in the tracking process,the target is prone to deformation,occlusion,loss,scale variation,background clutter,illumination variation,etc.,which bring great challenges to realize accurate and real‐time *** based on Siamese networks promotes the application of deep learning in the field of target tracking,ensuring both accuracy and real‐time ***,due to its offline training,it is difficult to deal with the fast motion,serious occlusion,loss and deformation of the target during ***,it is very helpful to improve the performance of the Siamese networks by learning new features of the target quickly and updating the target position in time *** broad learning system(BLS)has a simple network structure,high learning efficiency,and strong feature learning *** at the problems of Siamese networks and the characteristics of BLS,a target tracking method based on BLS is *** method combines offline training with fast online learning of new features,which not only adopts the powerful feature representation ability of deep learning,but also skillfully uses the BLS for re‐learning and re‐*** broad re‐learning information is used for re‐detection when the target tracking appears serious occlusion and so on,so as to change the selection of the Siamese networks search area,solve the problem that the search range cannot meet the fast motion of the target,and improve the *** results show that the proposed method achieves good results on three challenging datasets and improves the performance of the basic algorithm in difficult scenarios.
