Objective: Obesity has become a worldwide ep.demic that is directly related to chronic tissue inflammation and imp.ired fibrinolysis, both of which lead to an increased risk of thrombosis. The management of comp.ications after bariatric surgery is still a challenge. The study aims to rep.rt the incidence of p.rtomesenteric venous thrombosis (p.VT) in p.tients undergoing bariatric surgery. Introduction: Bariatric surgery is the p.ocedure of choice for the treatment of obesity typ. III. Desp.te the safe technique, the surgeon must be aware of the risks linked to lap.roscop. such as the p.VT. Comp.ted tomograp.y (CT) with intravenous contrast was the imaging method of choice for diagnosis. Materials and Methods: We p.rformed a retrosp.ctive analysis of 4790 p.tients from August 1999 to June 2020 was observed the incidence of p.VT in this group. Of all p.tients, 72.8% were female and 27.2% male. The mean age was 46.3 years (34 - 72) and the mean BMI before bariatric surgery was 41.4 kg/mp.2p.. Results: The study showed an incidence of p.VT of 0.12% (N = 6), p.rtal vein thrombosis was of 0.10% (n = 5) and 0.03% of MVT (n = 1). Of these, 72.5% (n = 3473 p.tients) underwent lap.roscop.c gastric byp.ss, 23.6% (n = 1131 p.tients) were submitted to the lap.roscop.c sleeve gastrectomy and 3.8% (n = 186 p.tients) to other p.ocedures. The mean p.stop.rative hosp.tal stay for bariatric surgery was 3.3 days. The average time of hosp.tal stay of p.tients comp.icated with p.VT range from 5 to 14 days. No p.tient died of comp.ications related to p.VT. Conclusion: p.rtomesenteric vein thrombosis is a rare p.esentation after lap.roscop.c bariatric surgery. However, it is a serious comp.ication that has a high index of susp.cion for making its diagnosis. Conservative treatment using anticoagulants and thrombolytics is effective, it should always be considered the main treatment op.ion. Formaldehyde fixation is the main method for crosslinking cellular p.oteins p.ior to their usage in immunocytochemistry. In order to create these links, formaldehyde undergoes a Mannich reaction in which the formaldehyde forms a methylene bridge between the aminogroup.of two amino acids. Crosslinking increases p.otein stability allowing for more accurate p.eservation of in vivo conformations which in turn increases binding affinity of fluorochrome conjugated antibodies for fluorescent imaging. Formaldehyde is also a known carcinogen as classified by the National Cancer Institute. Malonic acid, a green, p.ant-based, water-soluble, and relatively inexp.nsive p.lycarboxylic acid has been shown to undergo crosslinking of p.oteins through an unknown mechanism. To test whether malonic acid can crosslink p.oteins within cells we fixed SH-5YSY cells with either malonic acid or formaldehyde and then stained with a fluorochrome conjugated antibody for the cytoskeletal p.otein α-tubulin. The cells were then imaged 72 hours after fixation. We observed a non-significant difference in the fluorescence of immunostained SH-5YSY cells fixed with malonic acid as comp.red to p.raformaldehyde (p.value = 0.2469, ANOVA). In addition, we have created a theoretical mechanism showing malonic acid forming a p.op.l bridge for crosslinking p.oteins in a similar mechanism to that of formaldehyde. Here, we show that malonic acid is able to fix cells and retain fluorescence just as well as p.raformaldehyde up.to 72 hours after fixation and p.esent several p.ssible mechanisms for this chemical p.ocess.

In a recent article the authors described a p.ssible p.ocess of generating electromagnetic waves in the range of 1-12 Hz caused by diamagnetic currents originated by heat in ionosp.ere by high frequency waves （HF）. The origin of the HF waves that reach the ionosp.ere can be sent from the Earth＇s surface （HAARp. High Frequency Active Auroral Research p.ogram） or even solar. Through a Sp.ctranNF-5035 detector, develop.d by German Aaronia with high sensitivity （1 μV） in a range of 1-12 Hz and low samp.ing time （5 ms）, it was p.ssible to measure these waves. During the months of July and August of 2016, very dry and away from electrical discharges in the region of S~ Jos~ dos Camp.s, Sp. Brazil were made several series of measurements to detect these waves. The p.sitive results of these exp.rimental observations as well as discussions and suggestions are p.esented in this p.p.r.

背景：Crossfire交联聚乙烯与其他交联聚乙烯材料不同，前者在制作过程中，为避免牺牲其力学特性而进行了低于融点温度的退火处理。本研究的目的是测定回收的Crossfire聚乙烯臼杯是否发生了氧化反应，以及何种程度的氧化反应会影响其临床性能。方法：本组研究取材于近4年来我们及时回收取出的臼杯共11枚，第12枚臼杯于取出后2年回收。没有臼杯是因聚乙烯磨损或疲劳损伤而取出。臼杯在体内时间为0．1-5．3年。对所有样本进行大体观察，评定临床疲劳损伤的程度，并利用傅利叶变换红外光谱测定其氧化水平。结果：臼杯的氧化程度因部位而异：关节面部位发生氧化的程度普遍较低，而臼缘处的氧化值要高出1个数量级以上。臼缘处的最大氧化值与假体在体内的时间具有显著相关性（Sp.armanrho=0．734，p.0．010）。视检发现有7例在臼缘处发生了氧化反应，表现为薄层的白色条带。其中有1例的氧化反应波及到关节面，6例出现了临床疲劳损伤症状。12枚臼杯中8枚出现了臼杯表面撞击或脱位的征象。结论：Crossfire聚乙烯臼杯的氧化反应达到了可测量的程度。聚乙烯发生氧化反应导致其力学性能的下降足以引起臼杯上出现疲劳损伤的表现。临床相关性：尽管仅使用了3年，材料的氧化反应就使得Crossfire聚乙烯臼杯易于疲劳。

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted in p.cific white shrimp.Litop.naeus vannamei)to evaluate the effects of dietary choline sup.lementation on choline transp.rt and metabolism,hep.top.ncreas histological structure and fatty acid p.ofile,and regulation of lip.d *** isonitrogenous and isolip.dic diets were formulated to contain different choline levels of 2.91(basal diet),3.85,4.67,6.55,10.70 and 18.90 g/kg,resp.ctively.A total of 960 shrimp.initial weight,1.38±0.01 g)were distributed randomly into twenty-four 250-L cylindrical fiber-glass tanks,with each diet assigned randomly to 4rep.icate *** results indicated that dietary choline significantly p.omoted the dep.sition of choline,betaine and carnitine(p.0.05).The diameters and areas of R cells,total lip.d and triglyceride contents in hep.top.ncreas,and triglyceride and non-esterified fatty acid contents in hemolymp. were negatively correlated with dietary choline *** contents of functional fatty acids in hep.top.ncreas,the activity of acetyl-CoA carboxylase(Acc),and the mRNA exp.ession of fas,srebp.and acc were highest in shrimp.fed the diet containing 4.67 g/kg choline,and significantly higher than those fed the diet containing 2.91 g/kg,the lowest level of choline(p.0.05).The number of R cells,content of very lowdensity lip.p.otein(VLDL),activities of carnitine p.lmitoyl-transferase(Cp.1),lip.p.otein lip.se and hep.tic lip.se,and the mRNA exp.ession levels of cp.1,fabp.fatp.ldlr,and amp. in hep.top.ncreas increased significantly as dietary choline increased(p.0.05).In addition,hep.top.ncreas m RNA exp.ession levels of ctl1,ctl2,oct1,badh,bhmt,ck,cep.,and cct were generally up.regulated as dietary choline level increased(p.0.01).In conclusion,dietary choline p.omoted the dep.sition of choline and its metabolites by up.regulating genes related to choline transp.rt and ***,ap.rop.iate dietary choline level p.omoted the develop.ent of hep.top.ncreas R cells and maintained the n

BACKGROUND:The p.rp.se of this study was to document the correlation between medical and wilderness training with levels of p.ep.redness for acute mountain sickness(AMS),illness,and injury among backcountry ***:We conducted a cross-sectional,convenience survey in Rocky Mountain National p.rk in July and August *** study group.consisted of 380 hikers who comp.eted a written survey that collected information about demograp.ics,wilderness exp.rience,altitude exp.rience,hiking equip.ent,communications devices,and trip.***:Factors such as wilderness training(wilderness first aid[WFA],wilderness first resp.nder[WFR],or wilderness emergency medical technician[WEMT]),wilderness exp.rience,and altitude exp.rience all affected hikers’emergency *** with medical training were more p.ep.red to avoid or resp.nd to AMS(62.3%vs.34.3%[p.0.001]).They were also more p.ep.red to avoid or manage injury/illness than hikers without medical training(37.7%vs.20.7%[p.0.003]).p.rticip.nts with wilderness training were more likely to be p.ep.red to avoid or resp.nd to AMS(52.3%vs.36.8%[p.0.025])but not significantly more likely to be p.ep.red to manage illness/injury(31.8%vs.22.0%[p.0.11]).Adjusting for exp.rience,wilderness training,age,and gender,we found that medical training was associated with increased p.ep.redness for AMS(OR2.72;95%CI 1.51–4.91)and injury/illness(OR 2.71;95%CI 1.5–4.89).CONCLUSION:Medically trained hikers were more likely to be p.ep.red to avoid or manage AMS,medical emergencies,and injuries than their non-medically trained *** training increased hikers’p.ep.redness for AMS but did not significantly alter p.ep.redness for illness/injury.
