The discovery of single-atom catalysts(SACs)represents a groundbreaking advancement in the field of catalysis over the past *** the in-depth exploration of relevant structure-activity relationships,the metal−support interaction(MSI)is widely adopted to elucidate variations in electronic structure and coordination configuration of atomic active sites on various kinds of ***,we briefly summarize the metal oxide supports for SACs fabrication,including the distinctive characteristics of metal oxide supports,enlightening advancements in metal oxide support-based SACs(MO-SACs),feasible preparation methods for MO-SACs and effective regulation strategies of MSI effect in *** addition,we present our viewpoints and outlook in this field to stimulate rational design and construction of novel MO-SACs applied in diverse renewable energy devices,while some universal suggestions are sincerely given to provoke thoughtful considerations during the research process.

The increasing demand in spectroscopy and sensing calls for infrared(mid-IR)light ***,we theoretically investigate nonlinear wavelength conversion of Ge_(28)Sb_(12)Se_(60)chalcogenide glass waveguide in the mid-IR spectral *** waveguide dispersion engineering,we predict generation of over an octave wavelength(2.8μm-5.9μm)tuning range Raman soliton self-frequency shift,over 2.5 octaves wavelength cover range supercontinuum(1.2μm-8.0μm),as well as single soliton Kerr comb generated in suspended Ge_(28)Sb_(12)Se_(60)*** findings evidenced that Ge_(28)Sb_(12)Se_(60)chalcogenide glass waveguides can simultaneously satisfy the generation of Raman soliton self-frequency shift,supercontinuum spectrum,and Kerr frequency comb generation through dispersion engineering towards mid-IR on chip.

With the ongoing COVID-19， a significant increase in global depression rates has placed a considerable strain on healthcare systems. Conventional pharmaceutical methods have shown limitations in treating this rise in depression. Therefore， identifying new potential treatments for depression is crucial. Maintaining a balanced gut microbiota is vital for human health and immune system function due to its complex bidirectional relationship with the brain. Numerous studies have established a robust correlation between anxiety and depression disorders， as well as the composition of microbial communities in the gastrointestinal tract， providing a fresh perspective. Adjusting the balance of gut microbiota may help alleviate depression symptoms. Probiotics， live microorganisms in the human gut， can improve the microbial community， help maintain homeostasis and stress resilience to remission in patients with depression. It’s essential to explore how probiotics affect gut microbiota since their impact can differ between animal experiments and clinical trials. The variation in results may be attributed to factors like the probiotic type， administered dosage， and treatment duration. The purpose of this review is to summarize the potential mechanisms by which probiotics affect gut microbiota， drawing from recent animal and clinical studies and observations on gut microbial ecology shifts. Additionally， this review will spotlight effective probiotic species for depression relief and discuss treatments centered on restoring gut microbial balance. Furthermore， it will also discuss the potential of probiotics on host microbiota in other organs to improve depressive symptoms and demonstrate the transient nature of the need for a more nuanced understanding of the safety and potential adverse effects of probiotics.

SMAD7 expression in CAR-T cells improves persistence and safety for solid tumors

Objective Glaucoma,the second leading cause of blindness,is a neurodegenerative disease that is characterized by optic nerve degeneration resulting from apoptotic death of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs).Although previous work has shown that ephrinB2/EphB2 signaling was upregulated in the optic nerve head of glaucomatous DBA/2J mice,the role of ephrinB/EphB signaling in glaucomatous retina is largely *** the present work, we investigated the possible involvement of ephrinB/EphB signaling in the pathogenesis of RGCs death in a rat chronic ocular hypertension(COH) *** COH model was reproduced by blocking episcleral veins. Immunohistochemistry and Western blot techniques were used to detect the expression of EphBl,EphB2,ephrinBl, ephrinB2,phosphorylated EphB,phosphorylated ephrinB,and GluR2 in the *** staining was employed to detect RGCs *** direct interaction between GluR2 and phosphorylated EphB or phosphorylated ephrinB was detected by co-immunoprecipitation(co-IP) ***(1) In normal retina,EphBl was mainly expressed in GFAP-positive Miiller cells and EphB2 was expressed in the ganglion cell layer(GCL) and the inner nuclear layer (INL),while their ligands ephrinBl and ephrinB2 were expressed in both Miiller cells and neurons in the GCL.(2) In COH retina,the expression of EphBl was remarkably increased in Miiller cells,and the expression of ephrinB2 was increased in the endfeet of Muller cells and in neurons of the GCL,while ephrinBl and EphB2 almost kept unchanged. (3) Although total GluR2 proteins in the retinal extract hardly changed,the GluR2 proteins in the membrane component were significantly decreased in the COH *** intravitreal injection of EphB2-Fc,but not ephrinB2-Fc, induced a significant increase of TUNEL-positive signals in the normal retina,which was similar to the observation in the COH ***,injection of EphB2-Fc intravitreally could mimic the expression change of GluR2 in the COH rats.(4) Altho

Despite the tremendous progress of chimeric antigen receptor T(CAR-T)cell therapy in hematological malignancies,their application in solid tumors has been limited largely due to T-cell exhaustion in the tumor microenvironment(TME)and systemic toxicity caused by excessive cytokine *** a key regulator of the immunosuppressive TME,TGF-βpromotes cytokine synthesis via the NF-κB ***,we coexpressed SMAD7,a suppressor of TGF-βsignaling,with a HER2-targeted CAR in engineered T *** novel CAR-T cells displayed high cytolytic efficacy and were resistant to TGF-β-triggered exhaustion,which enabled sustained tumoricidal capacity after continuous antigen ***,SMAD7 substantially reduced the production of inflammatory cytokines by antigen-primed CAR-T ***,SMAD7 downregulated TGF-βreceptor I and abrogated the interplay between the TGF-βand NF-κB pathways in CAR-T *** a result,these CAR-T cells persistently inhibited tumor growth and promoted the survival of tumor-challenged mice regardless of the hostile tumor microenvironment caused by a high concentration of TGF-β.SMAD7 coexpression also enhanced CAR-T-cell infiltration and persistent activation in patient-derived tumor ***,our study demonstrated the feasibility of SMAD7 coexpression as a novel approach to improve the efficacy and safety of CAR-T-cell therapy for solid tumors.
