In the high-speed cold tandem rolling process of thin plate,chatter or slip instability gives rise to the deterioration of equipment and product *** instability behavior is closely related to interfacial friction-lubrication con-dition which is generally characterized by the friction ***,with higher and higher speed requirements,the commonly used model of friction coefficient is no longer applicable and accurate.A novel approach is suggested to calculate the speed-dependent friction coefficient,in which the viscosity-pressure-temperature effects of the lubricant,surface roughness states of work rolls and rolled piece are comprehensively involved and the mixed flm lubrication theory is ***,the influences of friction coefficient on the instability of slip and chatter are investigated for a five-stand cold tandem rolling *** one side,the critical friction coefficient for each stand is determined by calculating the corresponding slip factor;on the other hand,the friction coefficient varying with rolling speed is combined with the model of theoretical critical rolling speed presented under constant friction coefficient,so that the speed threshold is ***,the stable and unstable regions corresponding to the rear three stands are individually discussed,and the technical strategies are proposed to suppress both slip and chatter frequently occurring in the actual rolling process.

Commercially pure titanium （CP Ti） sheets show typical planar anisotropy due to the inherently crys- tallographic texture and manufacturing process. To char- acterize the planar anisotropic behaviors of CP Ti sheets in the forming process, uniaxial tensile tests of TA0 sheets were performed along rolling, transverse, and diagonal directions at room temperature; corresponding stress-strain curves and Lankford coefficients were obtained. Based on Hi11＇48 and Barlat＇89 yield functions, the planar anisotropy of TA0 sheets was investigated. In order to verify the accuracy of two models, we compared the experimental and predicted values of yield stress and Lankford coeffi- cients. It reveals that Barlat＇89 criterion with M = 10 is good agreement with experimental data, and the obtained function can be used in simulation of forming process.

This paper presents the design and implementation of an energy management system （EMS） with wavelet transform and fuzzy control for a residential micro-grid. The hybrid system in this paper consists of a wind turbine generator, photovoltaic （PV） panels, an electric vehicle （EV）, and a super capacitor （SC）, which is able to connect or disconnect to the main grid. The control strategy is responsible for compensating the difference between the generated power by the wind and solar generators and the demanded power by the loads. Wavelet transform decomposes the power difference into a smoothed component and a fast fluctuated component. The command approach used for fuzzy logic rules considers the state of charging （SOC） of EV, renewable production, and the load demand as parameters. Furthermore, the command rules are developed in order to ensure a reliable grid when taking into account the EV battery protection to decide the output power of the EV. The model of the hybrid system is developed in detail under Matlab/Simulink software environment.

Photocatalytic reductive amination of biomass-derived aldehydes is a desirable way to selectively upgrade biomass into value-added nitrogen-containing chemicals under mild ***,it is challenging to produce imines in high selectivity because of the undesirable side reactions caused by the activity of functional ***,we demonstrate the highly reactive and selective production of imines from biomass derived aldehydes via the photocatalytic reductive amination,using a defective TiO_(2)supported nickel *** employment of methanol as the hydrogen donor and ammonia solution as the nitrogen source avoids the use of high-pressure H_(2)and expensive amines,rendering the current catalytic process safe,economical,and environmentally *** depth investigations attribute the improved separation and transfer of photogenerated charge carriers to the presence of oxygen vacancies and decorated Ni nanoparticles,thereby accelerating the production of imines from benzaldehyde amination(conversion,95.8%;seleetivity,95.2%).Furthermore,the developed system could be easily translated to the photocatalytic conversions of various biomass derived aldehydes,which provided an example of a cost-effective and sustainable approach for the valorization of biomass derived feedstocks.

Exceptional points(EPs)have recently emerged as a new method for engineering the response of open physical systems,that is,systems that interact with the *** systems at the EPs exhibit a strong response to a small ***,we show a method by which the sensitivity of silicon resonant sensors can be enhanced when operated at *** our experiments,we use a pair of mechanically coupled silicon micromechanical resonators constituting a parity-time(PT)-symmetric *** perturbations introduced on the mechanically coupled spring cause the frequency to split from the EPs into the PT-symmetric regime without broadening the two spectrum linewidths,and this frequency splitting scales with the square root of the perturbation *** overall signal-tonoise ratio is still greatly enhanced,although the measured noise spectral density of the EP sensing scheme has a slight increase comparable to the traditional *** results pave the way for resonant sensors with ultrahigh sensitivity.

Objective To analyze the role of resistin in insulin resistance (IR) through investigating the variation of plasma resistin levels and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in resistin gene 5’ flanking region in stroke *** In 103 atherothrombotic cerebral infarction (ACI) patients, 85 lacunar infarction (LI) patients, 70 intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients, and 86 healthy controls, plasma resistin and insulin levels were measured by ELISA , SNPs in resistin gene 5’ flanking region were detected by PCR and direct DNA sequencing. The subjects’ body height and weight, the body mass index, quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (QUICKI), blood pressure, and the concentration of fasting plasma glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, creatinine, low-density lipoprotein, and high-density lipoprotein were also determined. Results QUICKI was significantly lower in the ACI and ICH patients (0.316±0.037 and 0.309±0.032, respectively) than that in the controls (0.342±0.043, PG and -537A>C SNPs were not significantly different among the different groups, and those SNPs were not correlated with other clinical and biochemical *** Plasma resistin is associated with stroke by participating in the development of IR. The SNPs in resistin gene 5’ flanking region has no impact on the plasma resistin level.

Effect of interesting games on relief of preoperative anxiety in preschool children

Purpose:To evaluate the effect of interesting games on reducing preoperative anxiety and improving compliance with anaesthesia in ***:Ninety preschool-aged children undergoing elective surgery were randomly assigned to two *** children in the control group were admitted to a general preoperative room with one parent for 15e20 min,and were then taken into the anaesthesia *** anaesthetic induction,the nurse attracted the children’s attention using an interesting game with encouragement and attention *** children’s anxiety was assessed using the Modified Yale Preoperative Anxiety Scale(mYPAS)when they entered the operating room,while they were waiting to undergo s0urgery,and during anaesthetic ***,the children’s compliance with anaesthetic induction was assessed using the Induction Compliance Checklist(ICC).Results:No statistically significant differences in the mYPAS scores were observed between the two groups upon entering the operating room(p>0.05).The mYPAS scores were significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group while waiting for surgery and during anaesthetic induction(p<0.05),while there were no significant differences in the mYPAS scores upon entering the operating *** children’s compliance with anaesthetic induction was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group(p<0.05).Conclusion:Engagement in an interesting game can reduce preschool-aged children’s preoperative anxiety and improve their compliance with anaesthetic induction.

Application of constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment in tropical and subtropical regions(2000–2013)

Constructed wetlands（CWs） have been successfully used for treating various wastewaters for decades and have been identified as a sustainable wastewater management option for developing countries. With the goal of promoting sustainable engineered systems that support human well-being but are also compatible with sustaining natural（environmental）systems, the application of CWs has become more relevant. Such application is especially significant for developing countries with tropical climates, which are very conducive to higher biological activity and productivity, resulting in higher treatment efficiencies compared to those in temperate climates. This paper therefore highlights the practice,applications, and research of treatment wetlands under tropical and subtropical conditions since 2000. In the present review, removal of biochemical oxygen demand（BOD） and total suspended solid（TSS） was shown to be very efficient and consistent across all types of treatment wetlands. Hybrid systems appeared more efficient in the removal of total suspended solid（TSS）（91.3%）, chemical oxygen demand（COD）（84.3%）, and nitrogen（i.e.,80.7% for ammonium（NH）4-N, 80.8% for nitrate（NO）3-N, and 75.4% for total nitrogen（TN））as compared to other wetland systems. Vertical subsurface flow（VSSF） CWs removed TSS（84.9%）, BOD（87.6%）, and nitrogen（i.e., 66.2% for NH4-N, 73.3% for NO3-N, and 53.3% for TN）more efficiently than horizontal subsurface flow（HSSF） CWs, while HSSF CWs（69.8%）showed better total phosphorus（TP） removal compared to VSSF CWs（60.1%）. Floating treatment wetlands（FTWs） showed comparable removal efficiencies for BOD（70.7%）,NH4-N（63.6%）, and TP（44.8%） to free water surface（FWS） CW systems.
