Gallbladder metastases are very rare and usually arise from malignant melanoma, renal cell carcinoma and cervical carcinoma. Breast carcinoma tnetastatic to the gallbladder is extremely rare and only 4 cases have been reported in the English literature. We hereby report a 54-year-old lady who was diagnosed as having breast carcinoma and underwent modified radical mastectomy. One month after the operation, she developed acute abdomenal pain and underwent cholecystectomy after clinical investigation. Histopathological examination revealed metastasis to the gallbladder. Being considered a patient with tnetastatic breast carcinoma she was subjected to taxane and anthracycline-based palliative chemotherapy. Later she had cNS involvement and died of the progressive disease soon after few months.

In this manuscript, we are reporting structural, bonding, optical, dielectric, and electrical properties of Gd-doped ZnO composite samples (Zn1−xGdxO, x = 0, 0.05, 0.10) prepared by solid-state reaction method. XRD spectra confirm the wurtzite hexagonal phase with a grain size distribution of 42 - 47 nm. The FT-IR spectra confirm bonding behavior like Zn-O, O=c=O, and O-H stretching modes. FESEM micrographs show that the grains of crystallites possess nearly spherical morphology. Optical absorption spectra confirm that the optical band gap decreases systematically from 3.19 eV to 3.15 eV for x = 0.0 to x = 0.10 samples. For all samples, PL spectra exhibited near-band emission, blue emission, and green emission peaks. The dielectric constant decreases as the applied frequency increases. Hall effect results show that with increasing doping concentration of Gd, mobility and resistivity increase while bulk concentration decreases. current-Voltage study shows that current increases when temperature is increased. Rare earth-doped ZnO is potential material used for optoelectronics and spintronics device applications. Properties of Gd-doped ZnO are studied by various research groups, but dielectric studies are limitedly reported. Therefore, the present research work aims to study the change of electrical, optical, and dielectric properties of Gd-doped ZnO for device applications.

BAcKGROUND:Gastrointestinal cancers,especially pancreatobiliary cancers,are frequently associated with or are complicated by thromboembolic phenomena due to hypercoagulability and/or altered venous drainage,especially of the abdomen and lower *** report describes an unusual and interesting case of gallbladder carcinoma developing a viable tumor thrombus in the superior vena cava(SVc)with resultant SVc obstruction,while on gefitinibbased anti-epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)***:A 60-year-old woman was incidentally diagnosed to have gallbladder cancer on *** had disease recurrence and received systemic chemotherapy followed by gefitinib-based anti-EGFR ***,while on gefitinib-based therapy,she presented with clinical signs and symptoms suggestive of SVc ***:A whole body PET scan revealed a metabolically active tumor thrombus in the SVc,besides other sites of metabolically active disease inclusive of the lung parenchyma, lymph nodes and *** was treated with antithrombotics and external beam radiotherapy directed to the SVc thrombus leading to symptomatic *** continues to survive on the day of writing this ***:This rare complication,though theoretically possible,is unreported because of the short overall survival of advanced gallbladder cancer *** highlights that with the availability of better chemotherapeutic/biotherapeutic agents for increasing in the lifespan of cancer patients,we may come across such cases more frequently in the future.

The eigenface method that uses principal component analysis(PcA) has been the standard and popular method used in face *** paper presents a PcA-memetic algorithm(PcA-MA) approach for feature *** has been extended by MAs where the former was used for feature extraction/dimensionality reduction and the latter exploited for feature *** were performed over ORL and YaleB face databases using Euclidean norm as the *** was found that as far as the recognition rate is concerned,PcA-MA completely outperforms the eigenface *** compared the performance of PcA extended with genetic algorithm(PcA-GA) with our proposed PcA-MA *** results also clearly established the supremacy of the PcA-MA method over the PcA-GA *** further extended linear discriminant analysis(LDA) and kernel principal component analysis(KPcA) approaches with the MA and observed significant improvement in recognition rate with fewer *** paper also compares the performance of PcA-MA,LDA-MA and KPcA-MA approaches.

A 65-year-old man presented with bone pains and anemia. Skull X-ray revealed multiple osteolytic lesions. The pa- tient was evaluated for multiple myeloma but detailed workup revealed the diagnosis of primary hepatocellular carcinoma (Hcc) with osteolytic bone metastases. Thus, bone metastases due to Hcc, although rare, should be considered in patients presenting with bone pains due to os- teolytic lesions.

We develop a theoretical model for quantitative analysis of temperature-dependent thermoelectric power of monovalent(Na)doped La_(0.97)Na_(0.03)MnO_(3)*** the ferromagnetic regime,we have evaluated the phonon thermoelectric power by incorporating the scattering of phonons with impurities,grain boundaries,charge carriers and *** doing so,we use the Mott expression to compute the carrier(hole)diffusion thermoelectric power(S_(c)^(diff))using Fermi energy as carrier(hole)-free parameter,and S_(c)^(diff)shows linear temperature dependence and phonon drag S_(ph)^(drag)increases exponentially with temperature which is an artifact of various operating scattering *** is also shown that for phonons the scattering and transport cross-sections are proportional toω^(4)in the Rayleigh regime wherewis the frequency of the *** analysis of thermoelectric power from the present model shows similar results as those revealed from experiments.
