Gold Nanoparticles Incorporated with Cyclodextrins and Its Applications

Cyclodextrins are naturally oligosaccharides which had cyclic glucopyranoside units even if six units to form α-cyclodextrin (α-CD), seven units β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) or eight units γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) and some other derivatives. It has a truncated cone shape with a hydrophobic cavity and a hydrophilic from the external surface of cyclodextrins. Gold nanoparticles incorporated with cyclodextrins enhanced optical and electrical properties of the resulting conjugates, due to the gold nanoparticles’ unique physical and chemical properties because of their surface plasmon resonance. Here is a review of gold nanoparticles/cyclodextrin’s different applications including sensing, antimicrobial effect, and their variable medical/pharmaceutical applications. Generally, gold nanoparticles and cyclodextrin conjugates showed developed and pronounced advantages due to their biocompatibility and enhanced physical and electric properties.

In this research,bone cement was prepared by mixing 2 g of magnesium hydroxyapatite(laboratory synthesized),12 g of polymethyl methacrylate,4 g of methyl methacrylate,and collagen(1,3,and 6 g).The samples were molded in a circular *** were inspected by visual microscopy,FTIR,XRD,and *** were engrossed in synthesized simulated body fluid for 1 month and then inspected by visual microscopy,FTIR,XRD,and *** samples prepared from 6 g of collagen showed the highest hydroxyapatite formation(high osseointegration)than the other samples.

AIM： To analyze the modulation of gene expression profile associated with inhibition of liver regeneration in hepatitis B X （HBx）-expressing transgenic mice. METHODS： Microarray technology was performed on liver tissue obtained from 4 control （LacZ） and 4 transgenic mice （HBx-LacZ）, 48 h after partial hepatectomy. The significance of the normalized logratios was assessed for each gene, using robust t-tests under an empirical Bayes approach. Microarray hybridization data was verified on selected genes by quantitative PCR. RESULTS： The comparison of gene expression patterns showed a consistent modulation of the expression of 26 genes, most of which are implicated in liver regeneration. Up-regulated genes included DNA repair proteins （Rad-52, MSH6） and transmembrane proteins （syndecan 4, tetraspanin）, while down-regulated genes were connected to the regulation of transcription （histone deacetylase, Zfp90, MyoDl） and were involved in the cholesterol metabolic pathway and isoprenoidbiosynthesis （farnesyl diphosphate synthase, Cyp7b1, geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase, SAA3）. Musculoskeletal pain is a distressing, unpleasant feeling and an emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. Prolotherapy is an injection therapy designed to stimulate tissue healing. Lyftogt PIT （perineural injection therapy） treats the neurogenic inflammation. Therefore it stops the pain and promotes the release of NGFs （nerve growth factors） which are important for tissue regeneration. Vitamin D3 receptors are ubiquitous in tissue distribution, which opens the possibility for unforeseen biological functions of vitamin D endocrine system. Dextrose is the most commonly used tissue proliferant in prolotherapy. It has different ways of action aiming to stimulate the tissue regeneration. Platelet Rich Plasma is also used in the IROM （interventional regenerative orthopedic medicine）, and it is very powerful because it delivers ＂growth-factors＂ which stimulate the local tissue progenitor cells （adult mesenchymal stem cells） enhancing the regeneration of the tissues. Adult Mesenchymal stem cell is the hot topic nowadays in the non-surgical field of pain management. In this paper, 250 patients suffering from chronic pain and dysfunction of different body joints （knee, hip and elbow）, were treated with one or two injection therapy techniques, to evaluate the patient improvement regarding the pain and function. The effect of adding an intra-articular injection of vitamin D to the above techniques was also evaluated regarding the joint pain and function improvement. Some of the patients were treated with Platelet Rich Plasma and others were treated with Bone Marrow Stem cells. The results of the 250 patients were compared with those obtained from 30 matching control patients, having same conditions and were treated with physiotherapy, Conclusions show that the therapeutic benefit from combining the two techniques, Lyflogt Perineural Injection Therapy and Prolotherapy, is better than using only one of them regarding the pain and function for the di

The active researchers, till now, did not find a curative treatment for many diseases threatening lives of the patients. Proper management and treatment for those patients can give them longer and healthier lives. Over the years, auto-haemotherapy has been used to treat illnesses and diseases such as： arterial circulatory disorders, autoimmune diseases as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, bronchitis, allergies, ache vulgaris, skin eczema, leg ulcers, chronic sinusitis, skin lesions, HIV infection, HCV, Lyme disease, connective tissue diseases, fibromyalgia, asthma, history of heart attack and fungal infections. It helps in cessation of smoking, treatment of drug and alcohol addiction, decreasing the appetite, losing weight in obese patients and speeding up the recovery after a long period of illness. It has also been used in combination with conventional cancer treatment. Auto-haemotherapy is a simple technique where the blood is drawn from a vein and re-injected into a muscle. The blood in the muscle works as a foreign body that will be rejected by the reticulo-endothelial system. It stimulates the immune system and the bone marrow to increase the production of macrophages which are the body＇s cleaners. The macrophages cleanse everything, they eliminate bacteria, viruses, cancerous cells called neoplastic cells, this is a spring cleaning, and they even eliminate fibrin which is a clotted blood. Auto-haemotherapy is a very powerful technique with a low cost. It requires a syringe and a physician who knows how to withdraw blood from a vein and straight away does an intra-muscular injection with this blood under aseptic condition which increases and stimulates the immune system. Allometric equations for estimating leaf area index(LAI) of two important tropical species(Tectona grandis and Dendrocalamus strictus)

Leaf area index（LAI） of Teak（Tectona grandis） and Bamboo（Dendrocalamus strictus） grown in Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary of Narmada District,Gujarat,India was obtained by destructive sampling,photo-grid method and by litter trap *** allometric equation（between leaf area by litter trap method and canopy spread area） was developed for the determination of *** show that LAI value calculated by the developed allometric equation was similar to that estimated by destructive sampling and photo-grid method,with Root Mean Square Error（RMSE） of 0.90 and 1.15 for Teak,and 0.38 and 0.46 for Bamboo,*** was a perfect match in both the LAI values（estimated and calculated）,indicating the accuracy of the developed equations for both the *** conclusion,canopy spread is a better and sensitive parameter to estimate leaf area of *** developed equations can be used for estimating LAI of Teak and Bamboo in tropics.

Liver histology in ICU patients dying from sepsis:A clinico-pathological study

AIM:To determine end-stage pathologic changes in the liver of septic patients dying in the intensive care unit. METHODS: Needle liver biopsies obtained immediately after death from 15 consecutive patients with sepsis and no underlying liver disease were subjected to routine histological examination. Liver function tests and clinical monitoring measurements were also recorded. RESULTS: Liver biochemistries were increased in the majority of patients before death. Histology of liver bi- opsy specimens showed portal inflammation in 73.3%, centrilobular necrosis in 80%, lobular inflammation in 66.7%, hepatocellular apoptosis in 66.6% and cholan- gitis/cholangiolitis in 20% of patients. Mixed hepatitic/ cholestatic type of liver injury was observed in 6/15 (40%) patients and hepatitc in 9/15 (60%). Steatosis was ob- served in 11/15 (73.3%) patients affecting 5%-80% of liver parenchyma. Among the histological features, the presence of portal inflammation in liver biopsy was as- sociated with increased hospitalization in the ICU prior death (P = 0.026). CONCLUSION: Features of hepatitis and steatosis arethe main histological findings in the liver in the majority of patients dying from sepsis.
