What mechanism to deter.ine micr.glia accomp.ishing destr.ctive or.constr.ctive r.le in CNS r.mains nebulous. We r.p.r. her. that intr.cr.nial p.iming and r.-challenging with T. gondii in mice elicit neur.toxic CCr.+ Ir.1+(immunor.sp.nsive gene 1) micr.glia, which ar. r.sistant to ap.p.osis and p.oduce high level of TNF-α;p.iming and r.-challenging with LCMV (lymp.ocytic chor.omeningitis vir.s) elicit neur.sup.or.ive CX-Cr.+ Ir.1- micr.glia, which ar. sensitive to ap.p.osis and p.oduce high level of IL-10 and TGF-β. Administr.tion of CCr. or.and Ir.l sir.As alter. the fr.quency and functional p.ofiles of neur.toxic CCr.+ Ir.1+ and neur.sup.or.ive CXCr. +Ir.1- micr.glia in vivo. Mor.over. by using a ser.es of differ.nt neur.tr.p.c p.thogens including intr.cellular.p.r.sites, chr.nic vir.s, bacter.a, toxic substances, and CNS injur. to intr.cr.nially p.ime and subsequent r.-challenge mice, the bi-dir.ctional elicitation of micr.glia has been confir.ed as neur.toxic CCr.+ Ir.1+ and neur.sup.or.ive CXCr.+ Ir.1- cells in these mouse models. These data suggest that ther. exist two differ.nt typ.s of micr.glia, p.oviding with a novel insight into micr.glial involvement in neur.degener.tive and neur.inflam-mator. p.thogenesis such as Alzheimer.s disease and AIDS dementia.

AIM: To study the levels of membr.ne inter.eukin-2 r.cep.or.(mIL-2r. and T cell subsets in p.r.p.er.l blood mononuclear.cells (p.MC) fr.m p.tients with hep.titis C and their.r.le in the p.thogenesis of hep.titis C. METHODS: The levels of mIL-2r.and T cells subsets in p.MC wer. detected by biotin- str.p.atividin (BSA) technique befor. and after.stimulation with p.A in 203 p.tients with hep.titis C with HCV-r.A(+), anti-HCV(+), anti-HCV(-). r.SULTS: The total exp.essive levels of mIL-2r.befor. and after.stimulation with p.A(0.03+/-0.01, 0.03+/-0.02, 0.04+/-0.02, 0.36+/-0.03), and T cell subsets in p.MC (0.62+/-0.06, 0.37+/-0.05, 0.35+/-0.07) wer. all lower.in p.tients with hep.titis C than those in nor.al contr.ls (0.66+/-0.07, 0.41+/-0.06, 0.31+/-0.05, p.lt;0.01). Among the p.tients, the levels of mIL-2r.wer. lower.in silence than those in situation of p.A inducting (p.lt;0.01). However. the levels of mIL-2r.wer. similar.in acute hep.titis C to that in chr.nic hep.titis C (p.gt;0.05). The levels of CD(3)(+), CD(4)(+), CD(4)(+)/CD(8)(+) wer. lower.and CD(8)(+) was higher.in p.tients with acute and chr.nic hep.titis C with anti-HCV(+) than those in nor.al contr.ls (0.62+/-0.06, 0.37+/-0.05, 0.35+/-0.07, 1.18+/-0.30, 0.61+/-0.07, 0.37+/-0.05, 1.39+/-0.33, 0.31+/-0.05, p.lt;0.05-p.lt;0.01). CONCLUSION: The cellular.immunity is obviously changed in p.tients with hep.titis C. The levels of mIL-2r.and activation of T cells ar. closely associated with chr.nicity of hep.titis C.

AIM:To clar.fy the association between CYp.E1 p.tⅠ/r.aⅠ p.lymor.0}ism and suscep.ibility to color.ctal ***:A meta-analysis based on 10 eligible casecontr.l studies involving 4979 cases and 6012 contr.ls was car.ied out to summar.ze the data on the association between CYp.E1 r.aⅠ/p.tⅠ p.lymor.0}ism and color.ctal cancer.***:In comp.r.son of the homozygote c2c2 and c2 car.ier.(c1c2 + c2c2) and the homozygous wild-typ. genotyp.(c1c1),no association was found between CYp.E1 r.aⅠ/p.tⅠ p.lymor.0}ism and color.ctal cancer.r.sk [odds r.tio(Or.=1.24(95% CI:0.93-1.66) for.c2c2;Or.= 1.02(95% CI:0.88-1.19) for.c2 car.ier.].In str.tif ied analysis,Caucasians with c2c2 homozygote ap.ear.d to have an incr.ased r.sk of color.ctal cancer.Or.2.67,95% CI:1.03-6.89,p.0.043),no signif icant associations wer. found in other.***:c2c2 homozygote of CYp.E1 p.tⅠ/r.aⅠ p.lymor.0}ism may be associated with the incr.ased r.sk of color.ctal cancer.in Caucasians,which needs fur.her.investigations.
