Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates feature ultra-modern cities with millions of residents that developed in opposition to the physical patterns of traditional historical *** the past years,however,there has been a renewed attention to urban heritage and two metropolises,Jeddah and Dubai,have decided to aim for World Heritage status and to leverage historic city centres as engines of economic development and tools for the reinforcement of national *** Dubai,the conservation and reconstruction of historic neighbourhoods gives residents an urban historic depth previously unrecognised,favouring the integration of different ethnic communities while contributing to the tourist development of the *** Jeddah,the preservation and revitalisation of the historic centre is part of a larger strategy focusing on the reinforcement of the private sector to trigger new urban dynamics building upon its rich *** strategies and plans are briefly discussed,underlining the specificities of the Arabian Peninsula context and its complex and evolving relationship with history and *** is argued that the nominations for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List have been a catalyser for the definition of new planning and conservation policies integrating urban heritage into urban development strategies.

The barcelona clinic liver cancer(BCLC)staging system has been approved as guidance for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)treatment guidelines by the main Western clinical liver *** to the BCLC classification,only patients with a small single HCC nodule without signs of portal hypertension or hyperbilirubinemia should undergo liver *** contrast,patients with intermediate-advanced HCC should be scheduled for palliative therapies,even if the lesion is *** studies report good short-term and long-term outcomes in patients with intermediate-advanced HCC treated by liver ***,this classification has been criticised because it excludes many patients who could benefit from curative *** aim of this review was to evaluate the role of surgery beyond the BCLC *** liver resection can be performed in patients with portal hypertension and well-compensated liver function with a 5-year survival rate of 50%.Surgery also offers good long-term result in selected patients with multiple or large HCCs with a reported 5-year survival rate of over 50%and 40%,*** macrovascular invasion is associated with a poor prognosis,liver resection provides better long-term results than palliative therapies or best supportive ***,researchers have identified several genes whose altered expression influences the prognosis of patients with *** genes may be useful for classifying the biological behaviour of different tumours.A revision of the BCLC classification should be introduced to provide the best treatment strategy and to ensure the best prognosis in patients with HCC.

The supplementation of vitamin E on broiler chicken diets is essential to the prevention of lipid oxidation reactions in the meat and improvement of meat *** objective of this study was to assess the effect of different doses of dietary vitamin E on breast meat quality of broiler chickens in the finishing *** doses of vitamin E were used(30,90,150,210,and 270 mg/kg feed)in broilers'diets from 42 to 54 d of age.A completely randomized design was conducted,followed by a split-plot,where the vitamin E dose was considered as the whole plot,and broilers'age at slaughter was the *** meat quality was assessed at 4 different ages(45,48,51,and 54 d old),using 50 birds per age,totaling 200 *** quality characteristics evaluated were:pH at 24 h post mortem,color(brightness,redness,and yellowness),water holding capacity,cooking loss,shear force,and lipid *** was no interaction between age and dose of vitamin E for meat quality characteristics(P>0.05).The age at slaughter had a quadratic effect(Pghtness,redness,and water holding *** pH values were higher in the breast meat of older birds(51 and 52 d old),breast meat of younger birds(48 d)had a more reddish *** force value was higher in breast meat of birds slaughtered at later ages(Pge-effect was *** increased linearly(Pgher vitamin doses,whereas treatments did not alter yellowness,cooking loss,and lipid *** this study,increasing vitamin E doses in the finishing period increased the brightness of broiler breast meat,whereas slaughtering at later ages resulted in greater meat pH and shear force value.

Motivated by the recent claim of hot superconductivity with critical temperatures up to 550 K in La + x hydrides,we investigate the high-pressure phase diagram of compounds that may have formed in the experiment,using first-principles calculations for evolutionary crystal structure prediction and *** from the hypothesis that the observed T_(c) may be realized by successive heating upon a pre-formed LaH_(10) phase,we examine plausible ternaries of lanthanum,hydrogen and other elements present in the diamond anvil cell: boron,nitrogen,carbon,platinum,gallium,*** find that only boron and,to a lesser extent,gallium form metastable superhydride-like structures that can host high-T_(c) superconductivity,but the predicted T_(c)’s are incompatible with the experimental *** results indicate that,while the claims of hot superconductivity should be reconsidered,it is very likely that unknown H-rich ternary or multinary phases containing lanthanum,hydrogen,and possibly boron or gallium may have formed under the reported experimental conditions,and that these may exhibit superconducting properties comparable,or even superior,to those of currently known hydrides.
