Impact of rainfed and irrigated agriculture systems on.s.il carbon.s.ock under different climate scenarios in the semi-arid region of Brazil

Understanding the dynamics of soil organic carbon.s.C) is of fundamental importance in land use and management, whether in the current researches or in future scenarios of agriculture systems considering climate change. In order to evaluate sOC stock of the three districts(delmiro Gouveia, Pariconha, and Inhapi districts) in the semi-arid region of Brazil in rainfed and irrigated agriculture systems under different climate scenarios using the Century model, we obtained RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 climate scenarios derived from the Eta Regional Climate Model(Eta-Had GEM2-Es and Eta-MIROC5) from the national Institute for space Research, and then input the data of bulk density, p H, soil texture, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and rainfall into the soil and climate files of the Century model. The results of this study showed that the Eta-Had GEM2-Es model was effective in estimating air temperature in the future period. In rainfed agriculture system, sOC stock under the baseline scenario was lower than that under RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 climate scenarios, while in irrigated agriculture system, sOC stock in the almost all climate scenarios(RCP4.5 and RCP8.5) and models(Eta-Had GEM2-Es and Eta-MIROC5) will increase by 2100. The results of this study will help producers in the semi-arid region of Brazil adopt specific agriculture systems aimed at mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.

The fires and biomass burning are responsible for affect ecosystem processes in a wide range of biomes at regional and global *** Brazil,the state of Mato Grosso is one of the most affected by the occurrence of forest ***,this study aims to quantify the longterm changes in the temporal and spatial patterns of fire occurrence and their effect on gross primary productivity(GPP)in the state of Mato Grosso,Brazil,considering the biomes that compose *** images used in the study were acquired by satellite Terra and Aqua combined in the product MCD64A1.006,a monthly resolution of 500m by the Moderate Resolution Imaging spectroradiometer(MODIs)sensor,during the period from 01/10/2000 to 12/31/*** MOD17A2 product derived from the MODIs sensor provides the accumulated value of *** poin.s.without the presence of burning presented higher values of GPP for all studied *** some poin.s.with the presence of burning the GPP even decreased by 44.20%,30.04%and 55.78%for Amazonia,Cerrado,and Pantanal,*** to the results presented here,it is concluded that the burnin.s.negatively impact gross primary production in the biomes of the state of Mato Grosso,Brazil and the dynamics of the burns do not keep up with the intensity of drought *** use of cluster analysis techniques,such as principal component analysis(PCA),is an alternative to bigdata analysis when the objective is to evaluate the presence of forest burning in more than one biome.

Experimental study on microstructural and corrosion behaviors of friction.s.ir processed steel with CoCrFeCuTi HEA reinforcement and effect of annealing

The ability to perform against extreme corrosion environmen.s.in.s.ainless steel depreciates under challenging conditions in industrial applications. This can be resolved by employing surface modification techniques to modify the surface with the required characteristics. The present study investigates the outcomes of friction.s.ir processing of ss304 with CoCrFeCuTi high entropy alloy(HEA) as reinforcement and the property enhancemen.s.post-annealing. The synthesized CoCrFeCuTi HEA exhibited irregular fragmen.s.with 17 μm mean particle size and body centred cubic(BCC) phase. The microstructure of the processed surface revealed ultra-refined grains with a uniform distribution of HEA filler. The microstructures of the samples annealed at 400℃, 550℃, 700℃ and 850℃ for 2 h also showed significant grain growth and grain refinemen.s. The processed sample with HEA reinforcement annealed at 700℃ exhibited enhanced microhardn.s. and tensile strength by 63% and 0.88 times than that of the processed sample with HEA pre-annealing. The subsequent electrochemical corrosion test displayed better corrosion resistance for the HEA-processed and annealed sample. Hot corrosion tests at 900℃ showcased excellent resistance for the HEA processed and annealed samples by 14.92%, 12.75%, and 14.83% against the samples pre-annealed under three different salt mixtures, and the corroded surface was analyzed.

In.s.tu production of ozone and ultraviolet light using a barrier discharge reactor for wastewater treatment

A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor consisting of water-filled dielectric tube electrodes was used for the treatment of wastewater. The inner dielectric tube, which acted as the discharging electrode, was filled with an aqueous electrolyte solution. The outer dielectric tube, which served as the other electrode, was in contact with the wastewater, which was grounded. The present reactor system was energy-efficient for the production of ozone, not only because the perfect contact between the aqueous electrode and the dielectric surface minimized the loss of the electrical energy, but also because the DBD reactor was cooled by the wastewater. In addition, the ultraviolet (UV) light produced in the DBD reactor was able to assist in the wastewater treatment since the quartz tube used as the dielectric material was UV-transparent. The performance of the present DBD system was evaluated using a synthetic wastewater formed from distilled water and an azo dye, amaranth. The experimental parameters were the concentration of the electrolyte in the aqueous electrode, the discharge power, the initial pH of the wastewater and the concentration of hydrogen peroxide added to the wastewater. The wastewater treatment system was found to be effective for achieving decomposition of the dye.

Background: An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of feed restriction(FR) and sex on the quantitative and qualitative carcass traits of Morada nova lambs. Thirty-five animals with an initial body weight of 14.5 ± 0.89 kg and age of 120 d were used in a completely randomized study with a 3 × 3 factorial scheme consisting of three sexes(11 entire males, 12 castrated males and 12 females) and three levels of feeding(ad libitum – AL and 30% and 60% FR).Results: Entire males presented greater hot and cold carcass weights(P strated males and females. However, the hot carcass yield was higher for females and castrated males than for entire males. Lumin.s.ty values were influenced(P sex, with entire males presenting higher values than castrated males and *** showed higher(P ncentrations of linoleic acid and arachidonic acid in the meat of the longissimus thoracis muscle. The meat of animals submitted to AL intake and 30% FR showed similar(P > 0.05) concentrations, and the concentrations of palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid and conjugated linoleic acid were higher(P n those of animals with 60% FR. The meat of females had a higher ω6/ω3 ratio and lower h/H ratio, and females had greater levels of feeding. The meat of animals on the 60% FR diet had a greater ω6/ω3 ratio, lower h/H ratio and lower concentration of desirable fatty acids in addition to a greater atherogenicity index(AI) and thrombogenicity index(TI).Conclusion: Lambs of different sexes had carcasses with different quantitative traits without total influence on the chemical and physical meat characteristics. The lipid profile of the meat was less favorable to consumer health when the animals were female or submitted to 60% feed restriction.

Immune response to inactivated bacterial vector carrying the recombinant K39 antigen of Leishmania infantum in mice

Investment in.s.lvicultural techniques is noticeably lacking,especially in breeding programs for non-conventional wood *** genotype×environment interaction(G×E)is essential to the development of breeding ***,this study aimed to estimate genetic diversity of and the effects of G×E interaction on two progeny tests of Cordia trichotoma,including the estimation of genetic gain and genetic diversity after *** the experiment,30 progenies of *** were tested at two sites with differing soil *** at breast height(1.30 m above soil surface,dbh-cm),total height,diameter at 30 cm from the soil,first branch height,and survival were all monitored for four *** deviance,best linear unbiased estimator,and harmonic mean of relative performance of genetic values(MHPRVG)were all calculated to predict breeding values,estimate genetic parameters,and analyze *** quantified traits varied significantly among progenies by soil type,with greatest variation recorded for genetic *** of the progenies led to predictions of genetic gain,ranging from 7.73 to 15.45%,for dbh at four years of *** calculated decrease in genetic diversity after selection.s.owed that this parameter should be monitored in.s.bsequent breeding cycles.G×E was low for all *** best-performing progenies proved most stable and best adapted to the different environmental conditions tested.

Foliar application of rare earth elemen.s.on.s.ybean(Glycine max(L)):Effects on biometrics and characterization of phytotoxicity

This study aims at investigating the effects of foliar application of aqueous solutions of La3+and Ce3+nitrates on.s.ybean plan.s.Glycine max).First,we observe that Triton HW 1000 surfactant at 0.01 vol%reduces droplets contact angle and increases their drying *** greenhouse conditions,the foliar treatmen.s.do not affect chlorophyll content,plant height,number of leaves,number of pods,number of seeds per pod,and average seed ***,the treatmen.s.induce phytotoxicity since foliar injuries appear after the *** X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy combined to scanning electron microscopy shows that the leaf lesions are positively correlated to accumulation of Ce and La on the leaf surface and also promote structural alteration to the epidermal cells.X-ray absorption near edge structure shows that the La and Ce nitrates are partially bio transformed into oxides by the leaves which might explain the harmful effects.
