Carcinoma of the head and neck represents 3.5% of all cancers, and the vast maj.rity of these tumors are squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). With a stable overall survival rate of 50% among all stages, there is continued interested in developing measures for early detection and disease aggressiveness. Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have been identified as a potential marker for early metastatic disease, response to treatment, and surveillance in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. In this article, techniques of CTC detection, applications of CTC technology, and outcomes of HNSCC patients will be discussed.

Background The liver manifestations of Alagille syndrome(ALGS)are highly variable,and factors affecting its prognosis are poorly *** asked whether the composition of bile acids in ALGS patients with good clinical outcomes differs from that in patients with poor outcomes and whether bile acids could be used as prognostic *** Blood for bile acid profiling was collected from genetically confirmed j.G1-associated ALGS patients before one year of age.A good prognosis was defined as survival with native liver and total bilirubin(TB)607.69 nmol/L was associated with native liver survival[hazard ratio:13.03,95%confidence interval(CI):(2.662-63.753),P=0.002].Conclusions We identified two poly-hydroxylated bile acids as liver prognostic biomarkers of ALGS *** hydroxylation of bile acids may result in better clinical outcomes.

Hydrate formation rate and separation effect on the capture of CO2 from binary mixture via forming hydrate with 5 wt% tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide （TBAB） solution were studied. The results showed that the induction time was 5 min, and the hydrate formation process finished in 1 h at 4.5 ℃ and 4.01 MPa. The hydrate formation rate constant reached the maximum of 1.84× 10^-7 molZ/（s.j. with the feed pressure of 7.30 MPa. The CO2 recovery was about 45 % in the feed pressure range from 4.30 to 7.30 MPa. Under the feed pressure of 4.30 MPa, the maximum separation factor and CO2 concentration in hydrate phase were 7.3 and 38.2 mol%, respectively. The results demonstrated that TBAB accelerated hydrate formation and enriched CO2 in hydrate phase under the gentle condition.

目的探究不同剂量硒对小鼠主动脉根部脂质沉积的影响。方法 6~8周龄雄性C57BL/6j.ApoE^(-/-)小鼠各27只,随机分为低硒组(0.02μg·g^(-1))、正常硒组(0.15μg·g^(-1))和补充硒组(0.25μg·g^(-1)),每组9只,其中C57BL/6j.鼠喂含硒普通饲料,ApoE^(-/-)小鼠喂含硒高脂饲料(额外增加0.15%的胆固醇,其他成分与含硒普通饲料相同)。饲养13周后,分别采用还原型辅酶Ⅱ法、噻唑盐法和硫代巴比妥酸法检测小鼠血浆中总谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(glutathione peroxidase,GPx)、超氧化物歧化酶(superoxide dismutase,SOD)的活力及丙二醛(malondialdehyde,MDA)的水平;采用RT-qPCR和Western blot法检测主动脉中硒蛋白谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶1(glutathione peroxidase 1,GPX1)、谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶4(glutathione peroxidase 4,GPX4)的mRNA和蛋白表达水平;油红O和HE染色法观察主动脉瓣和头臂干动脉内脂质沉积情况。结果与正常硒组相比,低硒组小鼠血浆中GPx和SOD活力降低、MDA水平升高(P均j.鼠相比,ApoE^(-/-)小鼠主动脉瓣膜和头臂干动脉脂质沉积减少(P<0.05);在ApoE^(-/-)小鼠中,头臂干动脉内有明显斑块形成;与正常硒组相比,低硒组小鼠头臂干动脉内斑块面积增加(P<0.05),补充硒组小鼠头臂干动脉内斑块面积减小(P<0.05)。结论适当增加饲料中的硒含量可以增强小鼠血浆抗氧化能力,降低ApoE^(-/-)小鼠主动脉根部脂质沉积的程度,其机制可能是通过调节GPX1和GPX4的表达实现的。

AIM: To study the association of three common ABCB11 and ABCC2 polymorphisms (ABCB11: 1331T>C V444A; ABCC2: 3563T>A V1188E and 4544G>A C1515Y) with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) and contraceptive-induced cholestasis (CIC). METHODS: ABCB11 and ABCC2 genotyping data were available from four CIC patients and from 42 and 33 ICP patients, respectively. Allele-frequencies of the studied polymorphisms were compared with those in healthy pregnant controls and Caucasian individuals. Furthermore, serum bile acid levels were correlated with the presence or absence of the 1331 C ***: The ABCB11 1331T>C polymorphism was significantly more frequent in cholestatic patients than in pregnant controls: C allele 76.2% (CI, 58.0-94.4) vs 51.3% (CI 35.8-66.7), respectively (P = 0.0007); and CC allele 57.1% (CI 36.0-78.3) vs 20% (CI 7.6-32.4), respectively (P = 0.0065). All four CIC patients were homozygous carriers of the C allele. In contrast, none of the studied ABCC2 polymorphism was overrepresented in ICP or CIC patients. Higher serum bile acid levels were found in carriers of the 1331CC genotype compared to carriers of the TT ***: Our data support a role for the ABCB11 1331T>C polymorphism as a susceptibility factor for the ←←← development of estrogen-induced cholestasis, whereas no such association was found for ABCC2. Serum bile acid and γ-glutamyl transferase levels might help to distinguish ABCB4- and ABCB11-related forms of ICP and CIC.

Chloroplasts and bacterial cells divide by binary fission. The key protein in this constriction division is FtsZ, a self-assembling GTPase similar to eukaryotic tubulin. In prokaryotes, FtsZ is almost always encoded by a single gene, whereas plants harbor several nuclear-encoded FtsZ homologs. In seed plants, these proteins group in two families and all are exclusively imported into plastids. In contrast, the basal land plant Physcomitrella patens, a moss, encodes a third FtsZ family with one member. This protein is dually targeted to the plastids and to the cytosol. Here, we report on the targeted gene disruption of all ftsZ genes in R patens. Subsequent analysis of single and double knockout mutants revealed a complex interaction of the different FtsZ isoforms not only in plastid division, but also in chloroplast shaping, cell patterning, plant development, and gravity sensing. These results support the concept of a plastoskeleton and its functional integration into the cytoskeleton, at least in the moss R patens.

随着化石燃料燃烧导致的二氧化碳排放不断加剧气候变化,且化石燃料储量日益减少,寻求可再生能源已成为一项紧迫的任务.其中,藻类衍生可持续燃料因具有成本优势和可运输性,在解决全球能源危机方面展现出广阔前景,备受关注.利用化学转化技术从微藻中提取脂质,并通过酯交换反应可以将其转化为脂肪酸甲酯,是生产绿色生物燃料的有效途径.这一过程涉及游离脂肪酸、磷脂和甘油三酯的提取,并且生产过程能耗低,成为满足日益增长的能源需求的一种理想解决方案.本文综述了微藻脂质提取和酯交换制备生物燃料的相关研究进展.首先,介绍了微藻脂质的提取方法,包括溶剂提取法、索氏提取法、布利格和戴耶法、超临界二氧化碳提取以及离子液体溶剂法等,并分析了各方法的优缺点.随后,重点阐述了酯交换技术在微藻脂质转化中的应用,包括酸碱催化、酶催化以及原位酯交换反应等,并探讨了这些技术的反应机理、催化剂选择、反应器设计以及生物油生产工艺等方面的研究进展.通过综述上述研究进展,为微藻脂质的生产和应用提供了理论指导.研究表明,通过优化催化剂种类、反应条件以及提取方法,可以有效提高微藻脂质的转化效率和生物油品质.同时,本文也指出了当前微藻脂质生产中面临的挑战,如微藻栽培和生长条件优化、高效转化技术的开发等.随着可持续能源日益受到重视,微藻脂质作为一种可再生能源具有巨大的发展潜力.未来研究应进一步关注微藻的规模化栽培、生长条件优化以及高效转化技术的研发,以提高微藻脂质的产量和品质.同时,应进一步推动和实现微藻生物燃料的实际应用,从而为应对气候变化和能源危机提供有效的解决方案.

Micro-encapsulated phase-change materials(micro PCMs) with Na_2 HPO_4·12 H_2 O encapsulated in poly(lactic acid)(PLA) shell were prepared by a solvent evaporation–precipitation method that involves the use of a coaxial needle. The effects of PLA concentration, stirring speed, inj.ction rate of core and shell solutions, and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) concentration on phase change properties were investigated. The thermal properties of microP CMs were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The capsules prepared under the optimal conditions are about 2 mm in diameter and show a latent heat of up to 122.2 j.g^(-1).
