The visualization and assessment of retinal microvasculature are important in the study,diagnosis,monitoring,and guidance of treatment of ocular and systemic *** the introduction of optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA),it has become possible to visualize the retinal microvasculature volumetrically and without a contrast *** lab-based and commercial clinical instruments,imaging protocols and data analysis methods and metrics,have been applied,often inconsistently,resulting in a confusing picture that represents a major barrier to progress in applying OCTA to reduce the burden of *** data and software sharing,and cross-comparison and pooling of data from different studies are *** inabilities have impeded building the large databases of annotated OCTA images of healthy and diseased retinas that are necessary to study and define characteristics of specific *** paper addresses the steps needed to standardize OCTA imaging of the human retina to address these *** review of the OCTA literature,we identify issues and inconsistencies and propose minimum standards for imaging protocols,data analysis methods,metrics,reporting of findings,and clinical practice and,where this is not possible,we identify areas that require further *** hope that this paper will encourage the unification of imaging protocols in OCTA,promote transparency in the process of data collection,analysis,and reporting,and facilitate increasing the impact of OCTA on retinal healthcare delivery and life science investigations.

Correcting magnification error in foveal avascular zone area measurements of optical coherence tomography angiography images with estimated axial length

Background:To generate and validate a method to estimate axial length estimated(AL_(est))from spherical equivalent(SE)and corneal curvature[keratometry(K)],and to determine if this AL_(est)can replace actual axial length(AL_(act))for correcting transverse magnification error in optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)images using the Littmann-Bennett ***:Data from 1301 participants of the Raine Study Gen2-20 year follow-up were divided into two datasets to generate(n=650)and validate(n=651)a relationship between AL,SE,and *** developed formula was then applied to a separate dataset of 46 participants with AL,SE,and K measurements and OCTA images to estimate and compare the performance of AL_(est)against AL_(act)in correcting transverse magnification error in OCTA images when measuring the foveal avascular zone area(FAZA).Results:The formula for AL_(est)yielded the equation:AL_(est)=2.102K−0.4125SE+7.268,R^(2)=*** was good agreement between AL_(est)and AL_(act)for both study *** mean difference[standard deviation(SD)]between FAZA corrected with AL_(est)and AL_(act)was 0.002(0.015)mm^(2)with the 95%limits of agreement(LoA)of−0.027 to 0.031 mm^(2).In comparison,mean difference(SD)between FAZA uncorrected and corrected with AL_(act)was−0.005(0.030)mm^(2),with 95%LoA of−0.064 to 0.054 mm^(2).Conclusions:AL_(act)is more accurate than AL_(est)and hence should be used preferentially in magnification error correction in the clinical *** corrected with AL_(est)is comparable to FAZA corrected with AL_(act),while FAZA measurements using images corrected with AL_(est)have a greater accuracy than measurements on uncorrected ***,in the absence of AL_(act),clinicians should use AL_(est)to correct for magnification error as this provides for more accurate measurements of fundus parameters than uncorrected images.

The middle miocene Badenian evaporite basin of the Carpathian Foredeep Basin was a saline lake, separated by a barrier from the sea and supplied with seawater seeping through the barrier or overflowing it occasionally in the form of short-lived marine transgressions. Such transgressions could leave behind marine microfossils in marly clay intercalations. One of them(2.3 m thick) occurs in the uppermost part of the sulphate sequence, in the unit ‘o’, in the Babczyn 2 borehole section. It contains marine palynomorphs(dinoflagellate cysts) and foraminiferal assemblages indicating a marine environment. The low-diversity benthic foraminiferal assemblages are dominated by opportunistic, shallow infaunally living species, preferring muddy or clayey substrate for thriving, brackish to normal marine salinity, and inner shelf environment. Dinoflagellate cyst assemblages, although taxonomically impoverished, consist of marine species;euryhaline forms that tolerate increased salinity are missing. Relatively common microfossils found in clay intercalations within gypsum have important palaeogeographical implications:they strongly suggest that there existed an additional inflow channel supplying the Polish Carpathian Basin from the south during the evaporite deposition and afterwards.

Eco-Justice and the Niger Delta Environmental Challenges： Reflections on matt. 7.12

Environmental challenges of the Niger Delta region caused by the activities of the oil and gas industry as well as the disregard of the region by both the oil firms and the state of Nigeria have been contentious in the discourse of environmental issues in Nigeria. In this dilemma, it appears that the oil communities are powerless in the face of the obnoxious display of might and the right to make and apply policies that affect the general well-being of the Niger Delta people and their environment. The question that might arise in this situation is the ethical perception of some of those who make and execute policies about the ecological problems of the region. Therefore, this paper focuses on discussing eco-justice in the light of Jesus teaching on equity and equality in matt. 7.12, where he counsels that human actions on the others should be moderated by the actors＇ desire for his well-being.

Influence of Ageing with UV Radiation on Physicochemical Properties of Acrylic-Polyurethane Coatings

Investigated systems of acrylic-polyurethane coatings consisted of three kinds of coatings: base coat (acrylic), intermediate (polyurethane) and top coat (acrylic);each made up of two layers. mean thickness of the coating system was equal (145 ± 1) μm. In time of accelerated UV ageing, electromagnetic radiation was emitted of wave length in the range (300 - 400) nm which was progressively inducing a destruction of coatings chemical structure, especially photooxidation and photolysis of coating material. Carried out X-ray investigations revealed increased contents of oxygen in aged coatings due to their photooxidation which resulted in increased tendency of coating microfragments to chip off from surface layer with the ageing time flow. The hardness increase of UV aged coatings was also observed which intensified their surface layer brittleness. This contributed to their thickness decrease by more than 10% after 2016 h of ageing. Photodestruction of UV aged coatings was documented as well by characteristics obtained during investigations carried out with DmA method use. A noticeable physical destruction of the coatings was observed in the form of silver cracks, etchings and grooves in surface layer as well as craters extending also into interlayer. Processes of physical and chemical destruction undergoing in aged coatings influenced roughness profile change and coatings surface topography shaping. After 2016 h of UV ageing, the roughness parameters (Ra, Rz, Rt) increased several times. Long-lasting UV radiation influence on the surface of investigated acrylic-polyurethane coating systems contributed to their decorativeness loss. microscopic examinations revealed colour change (yellowing) of blue pigment contained in polyurethane interlayer. Decline in coating gloss was also observed as the result of surface roughness increase.

Which psychosocial factors are associated with return to sport following concussion? A systematic review

Background:Psycho social factors predict recurrent inj ury and return to preinjury level of performance following orthopedic injury but are poorly understood following *** management protocols prioritize physical measures of ***,the objective of this study was to describe the psychosocial factors associated with return to sport(RTS) and how they are measured in athletes who sustained a ***:mEDLINE,Embase,APA PsycINFO,CINAHL,and SPORTDiscus were searched through February 2,*** studies included original peer-reviewed publications describing psychosocial factors associated with RTS following a diagnosed *** primary outcome was scales or measures employed and/or key thematic ***:Of the 3615 studies identified,10 quantitative cohort studies(Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based medicine Level-3) representing 2032 athletes(85% male;high-school and collegiate collision/contact athletes) and 4 qualitative studies representing 66 athletes(74% male;70% American football;aged 9-28 years) were *** identified 3 overarching themes and 10 outcome measures related to psychosocial factors associated with RTS following concussion:(a) fear(e.g,of recurrent concussion,of RTS,of losing playing status);(b) emotional factors(e.g,depression,anxiety,perceived stress,mental health,disturbance mood);and(c) contextual factors(e.g,social support,pressure,sense of identity).Conclusion:Although current medical clearance decisions prioritize physical measures of recovery,evidence suggests diverse psychosocial factors influence RTS following *** remains unclear which psychosocial factors contribute to a successful RTS,including the influence of sex/gender and *** studies should evaluate the association of psychological readiness with physical measures of recovery at medical clearance,preinjury level of performance,and risk of recurrent concussion to support RTS clinical decision-making.

High concentration of antimitochondrial antibodies predicts progressive primary biliary cirrhosis

AIm： To evaluate the serum concentration of antimitochondrial antibodies （AmAs） as a prognostic indicator of progressive primary biliary cirrhosis （pPBC）. mETHODS： Serum concentrations of AmA subtypes （anti-m2, anti-m4, and anti-m9）, biochemical indices of liver function and mayo risk factor （mRF） were determined in 30 women with diagnosed primary biliary cirrhosis （PBC） selected among 348 females with elevated alkaline phosphatase but without signs of hepatic decompensation. They were followed up for 5 years for possible development of hepatic decompensation. RESULTS： Anti-m2 concentration was significantly correlated with bilirubin and albumin levels as well as mRF, whereas anti-m4 was significantly correlated with albumin level, prothrombin time and mRF. During the 5-year follow-up, progressive PBC （pPBC） was diagnosed in 3 among 23 patients available for evaluation. These 3 patients were positive for both anti-m2 and anti-m4. Anti-m2 serum concentration exceeded 1 300 RU/mL in patients with pPBC and only in 1 among 20 non-progressive PBC persons （5%）. Anti-m4 serum concentration exceeded 400 RU/mL in 2 of the progressive patients and none in the non-progressive group. In contrast, anti-m9 serum concentration was below 100 RU/mL in all patients with pPBC, and higher than 100 RU/mL in 11 women （55%） among the non-progressive group. CONCLUSION： Females with elevated alkaline phosphatase and high anti-m2 and anti-m4 concentrations are at a high risk for developing pPBC. Quantitative AmA detection should be considered as a method for early diagnosis of pPBC. 2005 The WJG Press and Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

In this study, the technico-economic viability is studied, on the basis of different scenarios of electric micro-grids with renewable energy production sources, autonomous and supplied by the interconnected grid. HOMER Pro 3.13.3 Pro simulation and optimization software, Xlstat and Energy sentinel software are used for the evaluation of different technical and economic scenarios of system components, in order to obtain the most cost-effective configuration. To do this, the case study of the village of ELOKATO identifies the optimal options for the use of renewable energies for rural electrification in order to increase the electricity coverage rate. In our case study, after the various simulations, HOMER identified 13 scenarios and configurations deemed to be the most profitable, from the parameters and configurations without photovoltaic components have high COEs and very high initial investment costs in the order of several million US $. Renewable energy power generators require high initial investments and relatively low operating costs. The most important costs are generated by the battery park and then come the photovoltaic panels. The hybrid PV/wind/diesel/hydropower system is profitable if the distance from the village to the transformer station is greater than 1.90 km. The results show great potential for using these hybridized production sources with or without a generator to meet the electricity needs of a village.

Analysis of Freely Swimming C. elegans Using Laser Diffraction

Soil and aquatic multicellular microorganisms play a critical role in the nutrient-cycling and organismal ecology of soil and aquatic ecosystems. These organisms live and behave in a complex three-dimensional environment. most studies of microorganismal behavior, in contrast, have been conducted using microscope-based approaches, which limit the movement and behavior to a narrow, nearly two-dimensional focal field. We report on a novel analytical approach that provides real-time analysis of freely swimming C elegans without dependence on microscope-based equipment. This approach consists of tracking the temporal periodicity of diffraction patterns generated by directing laser light onto nematodes in a cuvette. We measured oscillation frequencies for freely swimming nematodes in cuvettes of different sizes to provide different physical constraints on their swimming. We compared these frequencies with those obtained for nematodes swimming within a small droplet of water on a microscope slide, a strategy used by microscope-based locomotion analysis systems. We collected data from diffraction patterns using two methods: video analysis and real time data acquisition using a fast photodiode. Swimming frequencies of nematodes in a droplet of ionic solution on a microscope slide was confirmed to be 2.00 Hz with a variance of 0.05 Hz for the video analysis method and 0.03 Hz for the real time data acquisition using a photodiode;this result agrees with previously published estimates using microscope-based analytical techniques. We find the swimming frequency of unconstrained worms within larger cuvettes to be 2.37 Hz with a variance of 0.02 Hz. As the cuvette size decreased, so did the oscillation frequency, indicating a change in locomotion when physical constraints are introduced.
