A reversible amine-carbamate approach has been developed to reduce the use of antisolvents such as water in the coagulation of biopolymers from ionic liquid(Il)solution and thus improve the economy of Il *** and chitin were recovered from 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate([C_(2)mim][OAc])solution by introducing the miscible amines triethanolamine(TEA),ethylenediamine(EDA),or butylamine(BA)and bubbling CO_(2) at 40℃ and atmospheric pressure through the solutions to form carbamate salts in situ which resulted in biopolymer *** gave the best results because of its low boiling point and low viscosity,which benefited both biopolymer recovery and Il *** films and fibers could be formed by extrusion of an MCC/[C_(2)mim]-[OAc]solution into a coagulating bath comprised of a 1:1 M mixture of[C_(2)mim][OAc]and butylammonium butylcarbamate(BA-carbamate).The cellulose,Il,amine,and CO_(2) were easily separated,although the cellulose recovered required some water washings to remove traces of *** to 96.4%of the[C_(2)mim][OAc]could be recovered,76.2%from the coagulation bath and 20.2%from the water *** recycled Il was suitable for another cycle of cellulose dissolution and extrusion and 84.6%of the Il used for the second cycle was *** further work is needed,not the least of which will be reducing the amount of water needed for washing steps,some promising features of this process point the way for new directions for more economically viable Il recycling processes in biomass treatment with Ils.

The present analysis provided the quality assessment of 65 Continuous Operating Reference Stations(CORS) situated in and around Mexico using the data of about ten years(January 2010 to January 2020).To accomplish the assessment,we considered 4 quality indexes for performing the quality check,incluing the multipath effect on l1 and l2 bands,signal-to-noise ratio in both bands,cycle slips,and ***,a new reference parameter named regio nal values for Mexico(RVM) was calculated for the stations situated in ***,an exhaustive analysis of the quality indicators in the worst and best cases was *** signal degradation was proved by a long-term time series and cru stal defo rmation analysis in GAMIT/GlOBK *** results showed a stro ng correlation between integrity,cycle slips and daily observations time,and the multipath effect is strong in the case of outdated *** study indicates that the estimated quality indexes and values could be the basis for establishing new CORS in Mexico,and the errors corrections which cannot be mitigated in the postprocessing stage would greatly help utilize the data for different scientific *** results were supported by deformation analysis in part of Baja California Peninsula in Mexico indicating northern and eastern velocity vector of -3.08±0.02 mm/yr,-7.85±0.02 mm/yr and-0.07±0.03 mm/yr,-9.33±0.02 mm/yr respectively at MPR1 and INEG stations.

Reduced bioavailability of nitric oxide along with an increase in inflammatory cytokines,reactive oxygen species,cell adhesion molecules,and platelet hyperactivity are underlying causes of endothelial *** peptides derived from various plants have been shown to attenuate biomarkers of endothelial *** objective of this study was to determine the effects of hemp seed protein hydrolysates(HSPH)in modulating biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction using an in vitro cell culture model and an ex vivo platelet activity *** cells were treated with HSPH from commercial variant X and ECO-commercial variant Y,followed by hydrogen peroxide to simulate oxidative stress and *** of endothelial dysfunction were then measured to determine the protective properties of *** samples collected from healthy volunteers were used to determine the effect of the HSPH on ADP and hydrogen peroxide-induced platelet activity,using flow *** HSPH reduced the production of reactive oxygen species,inflammatory cytokines Il-8,Il-12p70 and Il-1β,and adhesion molecule vascular cell adhesion molecule ***,treatment with HSPH also reduced platelet activation marker CD62P ex *** results obtained from this study suggest HSPH alleviates biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction by reducing oxidative stress,inflammation and platelet activation.

Micro-alloyed Mg-Ca:Corrosion susceptibility to heating history and a plain problem-solving approach

The exceptionally low corrosion rate(∼0.1 mm y^(–1)in concentrated NaCl solution for 7 days)enables lean Mg-Ca alloys great potential for diverse applications,particularly if relevant properties(*** strength,electrochemical performance,etc.)can be enhanced by thermomechanical ***,herein it is demonstrated that the corrosion performance of lean Mg-Ca is susceptible to the heating *** corrosion rate of Mg-0.15 wt%Ca alloy is remarkably accelerated after annealing even for a short time(4 h at 400℃)because Fe precipitation readily takes ***,it is found that micro-alloying with dedicated additional elements is able to solve this ***,the problem-solving capability is dependent on the element category,particularly the ability of the alloying element to constrain the Fe *** the three studied elements(***,Ge and In),only In shows good competence of restricting the formation of Fe-containing precipitates,thereby contributing to retention of the superior corrosion resistance after annealing even at a rigorous condition(24 h at 450℃).The finding creates good foundation for follow-up work of developing lean Mg-Ca-based alloys combining high corrosion resistance,superior electrochemical performance with excellent mechanical properties for applications as biodegradable implants and anode materials for aqueous batteries.

The development in technology of synthetic azo dyes,has led to excessive water resources *** n at lower concentration they can impart the quality of water and human ***,we have developed a novel synthesis strategy via introducing salicylic acid(SA)for the synthesis of a leachy crystalline material H-MIl-53(Fe)with hierarchical pores(HP)and exposed coordination unsaturated sites(CUS),which had higher surface area and larger pore volume than the as synthesized MIl-53(Fe).Due to these characteristics,H-MIl-53(Fe)was competent removal of orange G(OG,one of the frequently used azo dyes)with equilibrium in 300 min and the maximum adsorption capacity of 163.9 mg/*** adsorption mechanism of OG onto H-MIl-53(Fe)was mostly based on electrostatic attraction between CUS of HMIl-53(Fe)along with HP as active species to OG diffusion and *** comparing H-MIl-53(Fe)with other adsorbents for OG adsorption,it is undoubtedly that H-MIl-53(Fe)can be used as a promising adsorbent for OG removal from aqueous solutions.

Objective: To evaluate the in vitro and in vivo inhibitory effects of two commonly used herbs, Aframomum melengueta(A. melengueta) and Dennettia tripetala(D. tripetala) on CYP 3A enzymes. Methods: In vitro inhibition of the enzymes were assessed with microsomes extracted from female albino rats using erythromycin-N-demethylation assay(EMND) method while their in vivo effects were measured by estimating simvastatin plasma concentrations in rats. Pharmacokinetic parameters were determined using non-compartmental anaysis as implemented in Win Nonlin pharmacokinetic program. Results: EMND assay with intestinal microsomes indicated that aqueous extracts of D. tripetala and A. melengueta significantly(P l CYP 3A activity at both 50 μg and 100 μg concentrations. Petroleum ether extract of D. tripetala and ethanol extracts of A. melengueta inhibited intestinal CYP3 A activity at 100 μg but not at 50 μg concentrations. All the extracts showed an in vitrodose dependent CYP 3A inhibition with liver microsomes. In vivo analysis showed that pretreatment with the extracts enhanced systemic absorption of simvastatin with reductions in metabolizing enzymes activity as indicated in significant increases in maximal concentration, area under curve, area under moment curve and mean resident time of simvastatin(P lusions: Herbal preparations containing these plants' extracts should be used with caution especially in patients on CYP450 3A substrate medications.

Chemicals possessing reactive electrophiles can denature innate proteins leading to undesired toxicity,and the overdose-induced liver injury by drugs containing electrophiles has been one of the major causes of non-approval and withdraw by the US Food and Drug Administration(FDA).Elucidating the associated proteins could guide the future development of therapeutics to circumvent these drugs’toxicities,but was largely limited by the current probing tools due to the steric hindrance of chemical tags including the common“click chemistry”*** the widely used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug acetaminophen(APAP)as an example,we hereby designed and synthesized an APAP analogue using fluorine as a steric-free *** toxicity studies indicated our analogue has similar activity to the parent *** analogue was applied to the mouse hepatocellular proteome together with the corresponding desthiobiotinSH probe for subsequent fluorine-thiol displacement reactions(FTDRs).This set of probes has enabled the labeling and pull-down of hepatocellular target proteins of the APAP metabolite as validated by Western *** preliminary validation results supported the interaction of APAP with the thioredoxin protein,which is an important redox protein for normal liver *** results demonstrated that our probes confer minimal steric perturbation and mimic the compounds of interest,allowing for global profiling of interacting *** fluorine-thiol displacement probing system could emerge as a powerful tool to enable the investigation of drug-protein interactions in complex biological environments.

Biomass responses to intraspecific competition differ between wild species and CO_(2)

Aims How growth of wild and crop species responds to global environmental perturbations has both ecological and agricultural significance in a changing *** primary aim of this synthesis was to quantitatively assess the interactive effects of intraspecific competition and elevated CO_(2) on biomass production in herbaceous *** Using meta-analytical techniques,we synthesized data from publications before 2006 that reported biomass responses to elevated CO_(2) in 321 herbaceous species grown in isolation or in competition with con-specific *** findings Intraspecific competition differentially modified biomass responses to elevated CO_(2) in wild and crop *** example,competition reduced CO_(2) stimulation of total biomass(WT)from 27 to 23%in wild species,but by a much greater magnitude,i.e.,from 43 to 32%in *** had no effect on responses of either above-(WAG)or below-ground(WBG)biomass to elevated CO_(2) in wild species,but significantly diminished CO_(2) enhancement of WAG,although not of WBG,in *** variations were found among functional groups in the modification of growth responses to elevated CO_(2) by intraspecific competition,which exerted greater depression on CO_(2) enhancement in C3 than in C4 species and in non-legumes than in *** CO_(2) affected leaf and stem growth of individually grown C3 graminoids and forbs similarly,but increased leaf growth only in C4 graminoids and stem growth only in C4 *** from this synthesis demonstrated that intraspecific competition differentially affected growth responses to elevated CO_(2) in wild and crop *** wildcrop species differences will have important implications for understanding primary production by herbaceous species in both natural and agricultural ecosystems in the future when atmospheric CO_(2) is significantly higher than the current level.
