Electrodeposited Sulfur and CoxS Electrocatalyst on Buckypaper as High-Performance Cathode for Li-S Batteries

Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)are considered as the next generation of advanced rechargeable batteries because of their high energy *** this study,sulfur and CoxS electrocatalyst are deposited on carbon nanotube buckypaper(S/CoxS/BP)by a facile electrodeposition method and are used as a binder-free high-performance cathode for *** sulfur is deposited on buckypaper by electrooxidation of a polysulfide solution(-S6^2-).This approach substantially increased the current and time efficiency of sulfur electrochemical deposition on conductive material for LSBs.S/CoxS/BP cathode could deliver an initial discharge capacity as high as 1650 mAh g^-1 at 0.1 C,which is close to the theoretical capacity of *** current rate of 0.5 C,the S/CoxS/BP has a capacity of 1420 mAh g^-1 at the first cycle and 715 mAh g^-1 after 500 cycles with a fading rate of 0.099%per *** high capacity of S/CoxS/BP is attributed to both the homogeneous dispersion of nanosized sulfur within BP and the presence of CoxS *** sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)pretreatment of BP renders it polarity to bind polysulfides and thus facilitates the good dispersibility of nanosized sulfur within *** catalyst accelerates the kinetics of polysulfide conversion and reduces the presence of polysulfide in the cathode,which suppresses the polysulfide diffusion to anode,i.e.,the shuttle *** mitigation of the active material loss improves not only the capacity but also the cyclability of S/CoxS/BP.

The selective recognition of nanoparticles (NPs) can be achieved by nanoparticle-imprinted matrices (NAIMs),where NPs are imprinted in a matrix followed by their removal to form voids that can reuptake the original *** recognition depends on supramolecular interactions between the matrix and the shell of the NPs,as well as on the geometrical suitability of the imprinted voids to accommodate the ***,gold NPs stabilized with citrate (AuNPs-cit) were preadsorbed onto a conductive surface followed by electrografting of p-aryldiazonium salts (ADS) with different functional *** thickness of the matrix was carefully controlled by altering the scan *** AuNPs-cit were removed by electrochemical *** recognition of the NAIMs was determined by the reuptake of the original AuNPs-cit by the imprinted *** found that the recognition efficiency is a function of the thickness of the NAIM layer and is sensitive to the chemical structure of the ***,a subtle change of the functional group of the p-aryldiazonium building block,which was varied from an ether to an ester,significantly affected the recognition of the NPs.

Electrochemically producing formate by oxidizing methanol is a promising way to add value to *** metal-based electrocatalysts,which have been extensively studied for the methanol oxidation reaction,can catalyze the complete oxidation of methanol to carbon dioxide,but not the mild oxidation to *** a result,exploring efficient and earth-abundant electrocatalysts for formate production from methanol is of ***,we present the electro-oxidation of methanol to formate,catalyzed by iron-substituted lanthanum cobaltite(LaCo_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(3)).The Fe/Co ratio in the oxides greatly influences the activity and *** effect is attributed to the higher affinity of Fe and Co to the two reactants:CH3OH and OH,*** a balance between these affinities is favored,LaCo_(0.5)Fe_(0.5)O_(3) shows the highest formate production rate,at 24.5 mmol h^(-1) g_(oxide)^(-1),and a relatively high Faradaic efficiency of 44.4%in a series of(LaCo_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(3))samples(x=0.00,0.25,0.50,0.75,1.00)at 1.6 V versus a reversible hydrogen electrode.

Memristive crossbar arrays(MCAs)offer parallel data storage and processing for energy-efficient neuromorphic ***,most wafer-scale MCAs that are compatible with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)technology still suffer from substantially larger energy consumption than biological synapses,due to the slow kinetics of forming conductive paths inside the memristive *** we report wafer-scale Ag_(2)S-based MCAs realized using CMOS-compatible processes at temperatures below 160℃.Ag_(2)S electrolytes supply highly mobile Ag+ions,and provide the Ag/Ag_(2)S interface with low silver nucleation barrier to form silver filaments at low energy *** further enhancing Ag+migration in Ag_(2)S electrolytes via microstructure modulation,the integrated memristors exhibit a record low threshold of approximately−0.1 V,and demonstrate ultra-low switching-energies reaching femtojoule values as observed in biological *** low-temperature process also enables MCA integration on polyimide substrates for applications in flexible ***,the intrinsic nonidealities of the memristive units for deep learning can be compensated by employing an advanced training *** impressive accuracy of 92.6%in image recognition simulations is demonstrated with the MCAs after the *** demonstrated MCAs provide a promising device option for neuromorphic computing with ultra-high energy-efficiency.

In this paper, the problem of pre-specified performance fault-tolerant cluster consensus control and fault direction identification is solved for the human-in-the-loop(HIL) swarm unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) in the presence of possible nonidentical and unknown direction faults(NUDFs) in the yaw *** control strategy begins with the design of a pre-specified performance event-triggered observer for each individual *** observers estimate the outputs of the human controlled UAVs, and simultaneously achieve the distributed design of actual control signals as well as cluster consensus of the observer *** is worth mentioning that these observers require neither the high-order derivatives of the human controlled UAVs' output nor a priori knowledge of the initial conditions. The fault-tolerant controller realizes the pre-specified performance output regulation through error transformation and the Nussbaum function. It should be pointed out that there are no chattering caused by the jump of the Nussbaum function when a reverse fault occurs. In addition, to provide a basis for further solving the problem of physical malfunctions, a fault direction identification algorithm is proposed to accurately identify whether a reverse fault has occurred. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control and fault direction identification strategies when the reverse faults occur.

As the population ages,the burden of age-related diseases becomes ***,over 55 million people suffer from dementia worldwide,with Alzheimer’s disease being the most common ***,it is becoming clearer that underlying vascular pathology such as cerebral small vessel disease(cSVD)may be a more detrimental cause for dementia(Cuadrado-Godia et al.,2018).It is estimated that 10%-30%of the elderly population and 35%-90%of all dementia patients exhibit signs of *** term cSVD refers to pathology affecting the small vessels of the brain,which can lead to lacunar cerebral infarcts,enlarged perivascular spaces,and cortical hemorrhages(Cuadrado-Godia et al.,2018).CSVD is often associated with cognitive decline,gait problems,and dementia(Cuadrado-Godia et al.,2018).
