Forsythia suspensa,belonging to the deciduous shrubs of the Luteaceae family,a traditional Chinese medicine,has effects of alleviating swelling,clearing heat,detoxification and promoting blood circulation.The leaves of F.suspensa contain multiple chemical components and have a long history of use in folk medicines and health foods.The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of forsythin extract from F.suspensa leaves on intestinal microbiota and short-chain fatty acid(SCFA)content in rats with obesity induced by a high-fat diet.Forsythin extract in F.suspensa leaves increased the abundance of the intestinal microbiota,ameliorated intestinal microbiota disorders and inhibited the increase in total SCFA content in the intestinal tract in rats with obesity induced by a high-fat diet.These results suggested that forsythin extract in F.suspensa leaves may slow the development of obesity induced by a high-fat diet;thus,its active components and efficacy are worthy of further study.

Causal relationship between circulating vitamin C and 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations and common mental disorders-a Mendelian randomization study

Mental disorders seriously affect people’s health and social stability.This Mendelian randomization(MR)study was designed to investigate the causal relationship between circulating vitamin C(VC)or 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25(OH)D)levels and mental disorders.The data used for the MR analysis were derived from the summary genome-wide association studies(GWAS)database for VC and 25(OH)D and from the Finn Gen consortium for fourteen mental disorders.Based on the inverse variance weighted(IVW)method,we found a potential causal association between circulating VC and anxiety disorders(IVW:OR=1.139,95%CI:1.023-1.269,P=0.018).However,no causal association was found between VC or 25(OH)D and other mental disorders(P>0.05).In the reverse MR analysis,individuals with Alzheimer’s disease was causally associated with higher concentrations of circulating VC(P=0.012),while individuals with anxiety disorders had a negative association between the concentrations of 25(OH)D(P=0.012).However,the current evidence does not support a causal relationship between VC or 25(OH)D and other mental disorders.In addition,there was no causal association between circulating VC and 25(OH)D(P>0.05).Future studies are needed to confirm these findings and to elucidate the mechanisms of potential causality.

解放战争时期,“小米加步枪”经由毛泽东公开表述后,成为中国共产党的经典政治话语,它最初代表着党艰苦奋斗的政治本色和密切联系群众的优良作风,是党取得革命战争胜利的重要因素。以毛泽东为代表的中国共产党人借用日常事物形象地表达抽象的政治话语,宣传党的政治主张和价值观念,实现党的意识形态在社会层面的传递和濡化。新中国成立后,“小米加步枪”形塑内政外交,成为党阐释治国理政方式的话语工具,其革命属性逐步转向建设属性。改革开放以来,“小米加步枪”不仅作为党深化军事现代化建设的话语标尺,也延伸到社会主义市场经济领域,从政治话语逐步向社会话语转变。“小米加步枪”在革命、建设、改革各时期都产生了重要影响,是党领导人民群众从缔造新中国到建设新中国历程中锻造出的政治符号,是百年来党带领中华民族从弱小不断走向强大的缩影,也是我们坚定历史自信增强历史主动的精神动力和信心源头。

Dietary omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(ω-3 PUFAs)can be classifi ed into animal-and plant-derivedω-3 PUFAs.Patients with type 2 diabetes(T2DM)are frequently accompanied by dyslipidemia,which is closely related to the high-density lipoprotein(HDL-C)subfractions change.This study aimed to determine the effects of different sourcesω-3 PUFAs on glucolipid metabolism and lipoprotein subfractions in T2DM with dyslipidemia.Ninety T2DM patients with dyslipidemia were randomly assigned to take 3 g/day fi sh oil(FO,containing eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)),3 g/day perilla oil(PO,containingα-linolenic acid(ALA)),or 3 g/day blend oil(BO,containing EPA,DHA and ALA)for 3 months.90 patients completed the intervention.There was a significant reduction of glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)in all the groups.The triglycerides(TG)in the FO group were signifi cantly different with a group×time interaction(P=0.043),which was higher compared with the other two groups.The serum small HDL-C subfractions in the PO group was higher and the serum large HDL-C subfractions in the PO group was lower than those in the BO and FO groups.Plant-derivedω-3 PUFAs are more effective at controlling blood glucose than animal-derivedω-3 PUFAs.However,animal-derivedω-3 PUFAs have a signifi cant lowering effect on TG compared with plant-derivedω-3 PUFAs.Particularly,large HDL-C subfractions after animal-derivedω-3 PUFAs intake were higher than plant-derivedω-3 PUFAs intake;while small HDL-C subfractions were lower.Both the animal-and plant-derivedω-3 PUFAs have practical value in improving glucose and lipids metabolism in T2DM patients with dyslipidemia.

Postprandial metabolism plays major roles in many pathological conditions.The n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA)ratio is closely related to various physiological disorders.This study aimed to investigate the effects of high fat meals with different n-6/n-3 PUFA ratios on postprandial metabolism in normal control(NC)and hypertriglyceridemia(HTG)rats.The postprandial response of triglyceride(TG)in HTG groups was higher than that in NC groups after different n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio meals.The HTG groups showed higher postprandial total cholesterol(TC)responses than NC groups after 1:1 and 20:1 ratio meals.The 5:1 n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio elicited lower postprandial responses of tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α)than 1:1 and 10:1 ratios in HTG groups.The postprandial malondialdehyde(Mda)response was lower after a 5:1 n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio meal than 1:1 and 20:1 ratio meals in HTG groups.The 1:1 ratio resulted in a lower postprandial reactive oxygen species(ROS)level than 5:1 and 10:1 n-6/n-3 PUFA ratios in NC groups.The results showed that a low n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio improved postprandial dysmetabolism induced by a high fat meal in NC and HTG rats.A high n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio increased the difference in postprandial metabolism between NC and HTG rats.

Performance Validation and Analysis for Multi-Method Fusion Based Image Quality Metrics in A New Image database

Considering that there is no single full reference image quality assessment method that could give the best performance in all situations, some multi-method fusion metrics were proposed. Machine learning techniques are often involved in such multi-method fusion metrics so that its output would be more consistent with human visual perceptions. On the other hand, the robustness and generalization ability of these multi-method fusion metrics are questioned because of the scarce of images with mean opinion scores. In order to comprehensively validate whether or not the generalization ability of such multi-method fusion IQA metrics are satisfying, we construct a new image database which contains up to 60 reference images. The newly built image database is then used to test the generalization ability of different multi-method fusion IQA metrics. Cross database validation experiment indicates that in our new image database, the performances of all the multi-method fusion IQA metrics have no statistical significant different with some single-method IQA metrics such as FSIM and MAD. In the end, a thorough analysis is given to explain why the performance of multi-method fusion IQA framework drop significantly in cross database validation.

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is a Gram-negative bacterium found in the upper digestive tract. Although H. pylori infection is an identified risk factor for gastric cancer, its role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) remains a topic of much debate.AIM To evaluate the association between H. pylori infection and the risk of precancerous lesions of ESCC, and further explore the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.METHODS Two hundred patients with esophageal precancerous lesions(EPL) aged 63.01 ± 6.08 years and 200 healthy controls aged 62.85 ± 6.03 years were included in this case-control study. Epidemiological data and qualitative food frequency data were investigated. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay measuring serum immunoglobulin G antibodies was used to determine H. pylori seropositivity. An unconditional logistic regression model was used to assess the association between H. pylori infection and EPL risk dichotomized by gender, age, and the use of tobacco and alcohol, as well as the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.RESULTS A total of 47(23.5%) EPL cases and 58(29.0%) healthy controls had positive H. pylori infection. An inverse relation between H. pylori infection and the risk of EPL was found in the group of drinkers after adjustment for covariates [odds ratio(OR) = 0.32, 95% confidence interval(95%CI): 0.11-0.95]. Additionally, peanut intake was significantly associated with a decreased risk of H. pylori infection(OR = 0.39, 95%CI: 0.20-0.74).CONCLUSION Our study suggested that H. pylori infection may decrease the risk of EPL for drinkers in a rural adult Chinese population, and the consumption of peanut may reduce the risk of H. pylori infection. These findings should be framed as preliminary evidence, and further studies are required to address whether the mechanisms are related to the localization of lesions and alcohol consumption.

由六氯环三磷腈(HCCP)与5,6二甲基苯并咪唑(DBM)反应合成了具有星型结构的咪唑衍生物DBCP。采用傅里叶变换红外光谱(FT-IR)、核磁共振氢谱(1H-NMR)和磷谱(31P-NMR)及飞行时间质谱(TOF-MS)对DBCP的化学结构进行了表征。以DBCP为促进剂加入到甲基六氢邻苯二甲酸酐(MeHHPA)固化的双酚A型环氧树脂(DGEBA)体系中,用示差扫描量热法(DSC)和旋转流变仪分别研究DBCP促进体系的固化行为与室温储存稳定性。结果显示,DBCP促进体系的表观活化能较低(68.82 kJ/mol),200℃下具有明显的固化放热峰,160℃下2 min36 s能够快速完成固化,且具有大于30 d的室温储存稳定性,表明DBCP具有加快固化反应速率,降低固化温度的效果,是一种能够长期潜伏,快速固化的环氧热潜伏性固化促进剂。动态热机械分析(DMA)、热重分析(TG)和冲击试验结果表明,DBCP促进体系具有良好的热性能和力学性能。

One of the most striking radiations in brachyuran evolution is the considerable morphological diversification of the external reproductive structures of primary freshwater crabs:the male first gonopod(G1)and the female vulva(FV).However,the lack of quantitative studies,especially the lack of data on female genitalia,has seriously limited our understanding of genital evolution in these lineages.Here we examined 69 species of the large Chinese potamid freshwater crab genus Sinopotamon Bott,1967(more than 80%of the described species).We used a landmark-based geometric morphometric approach to analyze variation in the shape of the G1 and FV,and to compare the relative degree of variability of the genitalia with non-reproductive structures(the third maxillipeds).We found rapid divergent evolution of the genitalia among species of Sinopotamon when compared to non-reproductive traits.In addition,the reconstruction of ancestral groundplans,together with plotting analyses,indicated that the FV show the most rapid divergence,and that changes in FV traits correlate with changes in G1 traits.Here we provide new evidence for coevolution between the male and female external genitalia of Sinopotamon that has likely contributed to rapid divergent evolution and an associated burst of speciation in this lineage.

The association between folic acid supplementation,maternal folate during pregnancy and intelligence development in infants:a prospective cohort study

Objective The study aimed to explore the association between folic acid supplementation,maternal nutritional levels during pregnancy and intelligence development of infants.Method This was a prospective cohort study,mothers and their offspring in Jurong Maternal and Child Health Hospital were followed up through pregnancy up to 1 year.The basic information of pregnant women was obtained through questionnaire survey,including pregnancy lifestyle,marital status,vitamin and mineral supplements during pregnancy.Blood samples of pregnant women were collected on admission,serum folate,vitamin B12 and homocysteine concentrations were determined.Maternal postpartum colostrum was collected and the concentrations of folate and vitamin B12 in colostrum were determined.Pregnant women(n=478)and their corresponding infants were followed up and the Developmental Screen Test scores were recorded at 1,3,6,8 and 12 months of age.Results Compared with the normal group,infants in the low serum folate group had a score of 0.12 points lower in the intellectual energy zone(95%CI:-0.23–-0.01,P=0.04),and infants with the high homocysteine level scored 1.30 points lower than the lower-level group(95%CI:-2.52–-0.08,P=0.04).In the colostrum low-vitamin B12 level group,infants scored 0.10 points lower(95%CI:-1.84–-0.02,P=0.02)in the social adaptation zone compared to the normal group.Conclusion In conclusion,folic acid supplementation in the pre-pregnancy supplementation group and the post-pregnancy supplementation group may be not associated with infant mental development.In addition,maternal folate and homocysteine may be related to the intellectual development of infants.The level of vitamin B_(12)in colostrum may be associated with infants’social adaptive capacity.This result may be caused by individual differences in folate and homocysteine metabolism in pregnant women.
