The pore structure of spherical alumina supports is closely related to the dispersion of catalytically active components and the diffusion of *** excellent pore structure under strict reaction conditions is of utmost *** this work,sphericalγ-Al_(2)O_(3)support with a bimodal pore structure,composed of macropores and mesopores,was successfully synthesized using dodecane as the pore-forming agent through the oil–ammonia column-shaping *** morphology and internal pore structure of the alumina were found to be influenced by the amount of surfactant added and ultrasound treatment ***,when concentration of surfactant was 4‰and ultrasound voltage of 20 V was applied,the resultingγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-4‰-20 displayed a highly concentrated distribution of macropores with an average pore size of 100 nm,resulting in an impressive porosity of 69.21%.In contrast,the untreated sample ofγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-0-0 only exhibited a mesoporous distribution with a porosity of 54.03%.Moreover,after being subjected to a hydrothermal treatment in a high temperature(600°C)and high humidity(water vapor)environment for 120 h,theγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-4‰-20 sample maintained a high BET specific surface area of 170.9 m^(2)g^(−1)and mercury intrusion porosimetry specific surface area of 263.3 m^(2)g^(−1).

The morphology of graded crushed stone(GCS)particles has an essential influence on the performance of aggregate *** impact of particle shape is a comprehensive effect that cannot be considered separately,leading to difficulties in establishing the relationship between the mixture properties and the aggregate morphology by using laboratory *** discrete element method(dEM)is an effective way widely adopted to reconstruct the morphology of particles and simulate performance tests of granular ***,selecting limited particles characterizing a real particle-assembly for simulation is still a challenge in current research due to the inherent rich variability of particle *** this study,based on the acquisition of three-dimensional(3d)aggregate shapes by using laser scanning,ellipsoid index(EdI)translating the particle shape as a function of surface area,volume,and contour length is proposed to comprehensively evaluate aggregate ***,a particle library capable of characterizing aggregate morphology distribution is established based on the statistics of the corresponding morphological characteristics of particle *** model reliability is validated by carrying out a series of experimental and numerical penetration tests with nine different *** established particle library can be used to model aggregate mixtures and the proposed simulation framework is promising for optimizing the mixture gradation design numerically.

This work uses cloud-resolving simulations to study mock-Walker cells driven by a specified sea surface temperature(SST).The associated precipitation in the mock-Walker cells exhibits three different modes,including a single peak of precipitation over the SST maximum(mode 1),symmetric double peaks of precipitation straddling the SST maximum(mode 2),and a single peak of precipitation on one side of the SST maximum(mode 3).The three modes are caused by three distinct convective activity center migration *** indicate that the virtual effect of water vapor plays an important role in differentiating the three *** the SST gradient is large,the virtual effect may be strong enough to overcome the temperature effect,generating a low-level low-pressure anomaly below the ascending branch of the Walker cell off the *** results here highlight the importance of the virtual effect of water vapor and its interaction with convection and large-scale circulation in the Walker circulation.

High-energy gas fracturing of shale is a novel,high efficacy and eco-friendly mining technique,which is a typical dynamic perturbing *** effectively extract shale gas,it is important to understand the dynamic mechanical properties of *** experiments on shale subjected to true triaxial compression at different strain rates are first conducted in this *** dynamic stress-strain curves,peak strain,peak stress and failure modes of shale are *** results of the study indicate that the intermediate principal stress and the minor principal stress have the significant influence on the dynamic mechanical behaviors,although this effect decreases as the strain rate *** characteristics of compression-shear failure primarily occur in shale subjected to triaxial compression at high strain rates,which distinguishes it from the fragmentation characteristics observed in shale under dynamic uniaxial ***,a numerical three-dimensional Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(3d-SHPB),which is established by coupling PFC3d and FLAC3d methods,is validated to replicate the laboratory characteristics of *** dynamic mechanical characteristics of shale subjected to different confining stresses are systematically investigated by the coupling PFC3d and FLAC3d *** numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental data.

In this study,a novel multi-physics multi-scale model with the dilute multicomponent phase-field method in three-dimensional(3d)space was developed to investigate the complex microstructure evolu-tion in the molten pool during laser welding of Al-Li *** accurately compute mass data within both two and three-dimensional computational domains,three efficient computing methods,including central processing unit parallel computing,adaptive mesh refinement,and moving-frame algorithm,were *** was placed on the distinctive equiaxed-to-columnar-to-equiaxed transition phenomenon that occurs during the entire solidification process of Al-Li alloy laser *** results indi-cated that the growth distance of columnar grains that epitaxially grew from the base metal(BM)de-creased as the nucleation rate *** the nucleation rate increased,the morphology of the newly formed grains near the fusion boundary(FB)changed from columnar to equiaxed,and newly formed equiaxed grains changed from having high-order dendrites to no obvious dendrite *** the nucleation rate was sufficiently high,non-dendritic equiaxed grains could directly form near the FB,and there was nearly no epitaxial growth from the ***,simulation results illustrated the com-petition among multiple grains with varying orientations that grow in 3d space near the ***,how equiaxed grain bands develop was *** equiaxed band not only hindered the growth of early columnar grains but also some of its grains could grow epitaxially to form new columnar *** predicted results were in good agreement with experimental measurements and observations.

The heterogeneous variational nodal method(HVNM)has emerged as a potential approach for solving high-fidelity neutron transport ***,achieving accurate results with HVNM in large-scale problems using high-fidelity models has been challenging due to the prohibitive computational *** paper presents an efficient parallel algorithm tailored for HVNM based on the Message Passing Interface *** algorithm evenly distributes the response matrix sets among processors during the matrix formation process,thus enabling independent construction without *** the formation tasks are completed,a collective operation merges and shares the matrix sets among the *** the solution process,the problem domain is decomposed into subdomains assigned to specific processors,and the red-black Gauss-Seidel iteration is employed within each subdomain to solve the response matrix ***-to-point communication is conducted between adjacent subdomains to exchange data along the *** accuracy and efficiency of the parallel algorithm are verified using the KAIST and JRR-3 test *** results obtained with multiple processors agree well with those obtained from Monte Carlo *** parallelization of HVNM results in eigenvalue errors of 31 pcm/-90 pcm and fission rate RMS errors of 1.22%/0.66%,respectively,for the 3d KAIST problem and the 3d JRR-3 *** addition,the parallel algorithm significantly reduces computation time,with an efficiency of 68.51% using 36 processors in the KAIST problem and 77.14% using 144 processors in the JRR-3 problem.
