Steady rotation of a composite sphere in a concentric spherical cavity

The problem of steady rotation of a composite sphere located at the centre of a spherical container has been investigated. A composite particle referred to in this paper is a spherical solid core covered with a permeable spherical shell. The Brinkman＇s model for the flow inside the compos- ite sphere and the Stokes equation for the flow in the spheri- cal container were used to study the motion. The torque ex- perienced by the porous spherical particle in the presence of cavity is obtained. The wall correction factor is calculated. In the limiting cases, the analytical solution describing the torque for a porous sphere and for a solid sphere in an un- bounded medium are obtained from the present analysis.

The early Archean oceans were marked by significant redox changes which have subsequently shaped the Earth’s *** chemical sediments of banded Iron and Manganese formations provide important geochemical proxies for these historical shifts in the redox conditions and to trace the ancient sedimentation patterns and *** this study,we investigate the proto-ore of the Archean Mn-formations of the Sandur,Chitradurga and Shimoga greenstone belts of dharwar Craton of southern Peninsular India,which is geochemically characterised as quartz arenites,Mn-arenites,Fe-arenites,Mn-argillites and *** geochemical systematics suggest their deposition in shallow to deeper shelf in the Archean *** detrital zircon U-Pb systematics of Mn arenites and argillites indicate their maximum depositional age of 3230±52 Ma representing the oldest onset of sedimentation during the Paleo-Mesoarchean timeframe in the Chitradurga Group of dharwar *** detrital influx proxies suggest variations in sedimentation rates associated with the Archean transgressive-regressive cycles and fluctuating hydrodynamic conditions,together reflecting an increasing trend in the contributions of recycled sediment from Sandur to Chitradurga and Shimoga greenstone *** available detrital zircon ages of the Mn arenites and argillites from these greenstone belts indicate a~600 Ma prolonged period of Mn deposition for which high-T hydrothermal fluids from Archean mid-oceanic ridges supplied the *** trace element compositions of the concordant detrital zircons suggest 3.3-3.1 Ga dharwar basement TTG/granitoid source which is corroborated by the zircon crystallization temperatures of 690-820℃.The source-normalisedα-dose rates of the detrital zircons signify greater degrees of sediment transport and multi-cycle nature which correspond to the earliest episode of crustal growth in the Indian sub-continent associated with the Mesoarchean Ur supercontinent.T

An Experimental Methodology for Storm Mitigation

There are many theoretical explanations for the mitigation of tornados, storms, and hurricanes and one or two known simulation models that address the reduction of the intensities of these forces. We introduce an innovative methodology that releases environmentally friendly aerosol particles responsible for cloud condensation and weakens the intensities of these forces. For the past nine years, we did several experiments and analyzed the results. Experimental results give evidence to this methodology is practical, environment-friendly, cost-effective, and consistent. In this paper, we described our experiments along with results in three different scenarios such as tornado (March 2021, Georgia USA), storm Claudette (June 2021, Georgia USA), and hurricane Elsa (July 2021, Florida USA). Our experimental outcome and subsequent relevant meteorology data support the reason for mitigating the intensity of these destructive forces in and around the experiment locations.

Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is a progressive inflammatory disorder of the pancreas. It is predominantly idiopathic (with an unknown cause) in India and mostly due to alcohol in the West. diabetes that occur secondary to chronic pancreatitis (T3c diabetes) is often brittle, and is difficult to attain normoglycemia with conventional treatment requiring multiple doses of insulin. Mild and severe model of CP was induced in mice by repeated intraperitoneal injections of cerulein and L-arginine respectively with an intent to study islet dysfunction and develop therapeutic strategy in animal models of CP. dietary intervention of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) was tested in both the models of CP for its beneficial effects on insulin secretory functions. Pancreata collected upon euthanasia were used to study alterations in the morphology of pancreatic parenchyma and inflammation by staining with H&E and fibrotic changes by Masson’s trichrome and picrosirius staining. Insulin secretory functions of islets were evaluated to test the efficacy of the dietary intervention on β-cell functions. Intraperitoneal glucose tolerance test was performed to monitor the glucose homeostasis before and after the dietary intervention. Both the models resulted in CP with dispersed acini, inflammation and fibrosis. The loss of acini and extent of fibrosis was more in L-arginine model. 2-fold improvement in glucose-stimulated insulin secretory functions of islets was observed with 0.5% EGCG dietary intervention in cerulein model of CP and 1.6-fold in L-arginine model of CP. A further improvement in insulin secretion by 3.2-fold was observed with additional dietary supplements like N-acetyl cysteine, curcumin in combination with EGCG. Our results thus demonstrate and highlight the therapeutic potential of dietary green tea (EGCG) supplementation in reversing islet dysfunction and improving glucose homeostasis in experimental chronic pancreatitis in mice.

This research introduces a groundbreaking methodology aimed at mitigating storm and hurricane intensity through the application of a ground-based, manually operated Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) Generator. To meet the demand for more comprehensive context and rationale, this study explores the escalating challenges presented by the growing intensity of hurricanes, exemplified by Hurricane IAN (2022). The controlled release of environmentally friendly aerosols into the atmosphere, achieved by combusting selected wood pieces and organic edible materials, is a pivotal response to the escalating threat of extreme weather events. By generating CCN, the novel approach seeks to augment positive lightning in the eyewall, providing a potential solution to the intensification of hurricanes. Results illustrate the successful implementation of the methodology, with released aerosols effectively reaching the clouds for seeding, thus contributing to the modification of convection in the outer wall of Hurricane IAN and consequent intensity reduction. Rigorous experiments, incorporating considerations of various parameters such as wind patterns and the experimental location in Sarasota City, emphasize the scientific rigor applied to weakening Hurricane IAN. This comprehensive approach not only holds promise in mitigating hurricane intensity but also sheds light on the potential impact of cloud seeding in reducing the severity of future hurricanes, addressing a critical need for sustainable solutions to climate-related challenges.

dear Editor, A microgravity environment in space, the elasticity of the tether,and complex flexible appendages make the tethered-towing system a nonlinear and underactuated system, which is sensitive and difficult to stabilize. This letter develops a controller based on wave propagation for tethered towing of defunct satellites, and carries out a robustness analysis of the controller via numerical simulation.

dwellings are usually constructed by people as per their respective needs,with the use of traditional *** architectural built form,layout,building materials,and local construction practices vary from one region to the other,depending on the socio cultural and socio-economic *** is essential and crucial to understand the cultural significance in an ever-transforming ***,a study has been attempted to analyze typical characteristics of houses in krishna district of coastal Andhra *** part of the study process,a few dwellings were selected which have vernacular building components and which underwent transformation(spatial,physical and esthetical)in response to the respective users’changing requirements in time and ***’s attachment to the vernacular components of the present and earlier house was *** qualitative analysis brought out that 25%of houses exhibited transformation in their built-up area while 75%exhibited transformation in terms of its spaces,components such as roof,wall,joinery and *** was also found that the quantum of transformation which had taken place arose from different reasons in isolation and combination such as family structure,change from joint large family to a smaller nuclear family system within the same premises,property subdivision,growth in economic condition,and partial physical deterioration of building *** principal focus of this paper is to understand the degree of people’s attachment or satisfaction level toward vernacular elements and thereby understand the social acceptance of vernacular architecture in a broader perspective.

The investigation of radiation-absorption,chemical reaction,Hall and ion-slip impacts on unsteady MHd free convective laminar flow of an incompressible viscous,electrically conducting and heat generation/absorbing fluid enclosed with a semi-infinite porous plate within a rotating frame has been *** plate is assumed to be moving with a constant velocity in the direction of fluid movement.A uniform transverse magnetic field is applied at right angles to the porous surface,which is absorbing the fluid with a suction velocity changing with *** non-dimensional governing equations for present investigation are solved analytically making use of two term harmonic and non-harmonic *** graphical results of velocity,temperature and concentration distributions on the analytical solutions are displayed and discussed with reference to pertinent *** is found that the velocity profiles decreased with an increasing in Hartmann number,rotation parameter,the Schmidt number,heat source parameter,while it increased due to an increase in permeability parameter,radiation-absorption parameter,Hall and ion slip ***,the temperature profile is an increasing function of radiation-absorption parameter,whereas an increase in chemical reaction parameter,the Schmidt number Sc or frequency of oscillations decrease the temperature profile on ***,it is found that the concentration profile is decreased with an escalating in the Schmidt number or the chemical reaction parameter.

This research work is the novel state-of-the-art technology performed on multi-cylinder SI engine fueled compressed natural gas,emulsified fuel,and hydrogen as dual *** work predicts the overall features of performance,combustion,and exhaust emissions of individual fuels based on AVL Boost simulation *** types of alternative fuels have been compared and *** results show that hydrogen produces 20%more brake power than CNG and 25%more power than micro-emulsion fuel at 1500 r/min,which further increases the brake power of hydrogen,CNG,and micro-emulsions in the range of 25%,20%,and 15%at higher engine speeds of 2500-4000 r/min,*** addition,the brake-specific fuel consumption is the lowest for 100%hydrogen,followed by CNG 100%and then micro-emulsions at 1500 r/*** 2500-5000 r/min,there is a significant drop in brake-specific fuel consumption due to a lean mixture at higher engine *** CO,HC,and NOx emissions significantly improve for hydrogen,CNG,and micro-emulsion *** fuel shows zero CO and HC emissions and is the main objective of this research to produce 0%carbon-based emissions with a slight increase in NOx emissions,and CNG shows 30%lower CO emissions than micro-emulsions and 21.5%less hydrocarbon emissions than micro-emulsion fuel at stoichiometric air/fuel ratio.
