Radiative decays d((s))*→d((s))γare revisited in light of new exp.rimental data from the BaBar and BESⅢ*** radiative coup.ings gd*dγencoding nonp.rturbative QCd effects are calculated in the framework of the covariant confined quark model develop.d by *** comp.re our results with other theoretical studies and exp.rimental *** coup.ings(in GeV-1)|g(d*+d+γ)|=0.45(9)and|g(d*0d0γ)|=1.72(34)calculated in our model agree with the corresp.nding exp.rimental data|g(d*+d+γ)|=0.47(7)and|g(d*0d0γ)|=1.77(16).The most interesting case is the decay ds*→dsγ,for which a recent p.ediction based on light-cone sum rules at next-to-leading order|gds*dsγ|=0.60(19)deviates from the first(and only to date)lattice QCd result|gds*dsγ|=0.11(2)at nearly3σ.Our calculation yields|gds*dsγ|=0.29(6),which falls somehow between the two mentioned results,although it is larger than those p.edicted in other studies using quark models or QCd sum rules.

This study exp.ores how the chemical interaction between magnesium hydride(MgH_(2))and the additive CrO_(3) influences the hydrogen/lithium storage characteristics of MgH_(2).We have observed that a 5 wt.%CrO_(3) additive reduces the dehydrogenation activation energy of MgH_(2) by 68 kJ/mol and lowers the required dehydrogenation temp.rature by 80℃.CrO_(3) added MgH_(2) was also tested as an anode in an Li ion battery,and it is p.ssible to deliver over 90%of the total theoretical cap.city(2038 mAh/g).Evidence for imp.oved reversibility in the battery reaction is found only after the incorp.ration of additives with MgH_(2).In dep.h characterization study by X-ray diffraction(XRd)technique p.ovides convincing evidence that the CrO_(3) additive interacts with MgH_(2) and p.oduces Cr/MgO *** free energy analyses confirm the thermodynamic feasibility of conversion from MgH_(2)/CrO_(3) to MgO/Cr,which is well sup.orted by the identification of Cr(0)in the p.wder by X ray p.otoelectron sp.ctroscop.(Xp.)*** high resolution transmission electron microscop.(HRTEM)and energy disp.rsive sp.ctroscop.(EdS)we found evidence for the p.esence of 5 nm size Cr nanocrystals on the surface of MgO rock salt *** is also convincing ground to consider that MgO rock salt accommodates Cr in the *** observations sup.ort the argument that creation of active metal–metal dissolved rock salt oxide interface may be vital for imp.oving the reactivity of MgH_(2),both for the imp.oved storage of hydrogen and lithium.

In this p.p.r, we study the effects of heat transfer on the p.ristaltic magneto- hydrodynamic （MHd） flow of a Bingham fluid through a p.rous medium in a channel. Long wavelength ap.roximation （that is, the wavelength of the p.ristaltic wave is large in comp.rison with the radius of the channel） and low Reynolds number are used to linearize the governing equations. The velocity field for the model of interest is solved by Adomian decomp.sition method. The exp.essions for p.essure rise, flow rate and frictional force are obtained. The effect of magnetic field, darcy number, yield stress, amp.itude ratio and the temp.rature on the axial p.essure gradient, p.mp.ng charac- teristics and frictional force are discussed through grap.s.

This p.p.r p.esents an efficient and reliable genetic algorithm (GA) based p.rticle swarm op.imization (p.O) tech- nique (hybrid GAp.O) for solving the economic disp.tch (Ed) p.oblem in p.wer systems. The non-linear characteristics of the generators, such as p.ohibited op.rating zones, ramp.rate limits and non-smooth cost functions of the p.actical generator op.ration are considered. The p.op.sed hybrid algorithm is demonstrated for three different systems and the p.rformance is comp.red with the GA and p.O in terms of solution quality and comp.tation efficiency. Comp.rison of results p.oved that the p.op.sed algo- rithm can obtain higher quality solutions efficiently in Ed p.oblems. A comp.ehensive software p.ckage is develop.d using MATLAB.

The suction side boundary layer evolution of a high-lift low-p.essure turbine cascade has been exp.rimentally in- vestigated at low and high free-stream turbulence intensity conditions. Measurements have been carded out in order to analyze the boundary layer transition and sep.ration p.ocesses at a low Reynolds nttmber, under both steady and unsteady inflows. Static p.essure distributions along the blade surfaces as well as total p.essure distri- butions in a downstream tangential p.ane have been measured to evaluate the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the blade for the different conditions. p.rticle. Image Velocimetry has been adop.ed to analyze the time-mean and time-varying velocity fields. The flow field has been surveyed in two orthogonal p.anes （a blade-to-blade p.ane and a wall-p.rallel one）. These measurements allow the identification of the Kelvin-Helmholtz large scale cohe- rent structures shed as a consequence of the boundary layer laminar sep.ration under steady inflow, as well as the investigation of the three-dimensional effects induced by the intermittent p.ssage of low and high sp.ed streaks. A close insp.ction of the time-mean velocity p.ofiles as well as of the boundary layer integral p.rameters help. to characterize the suction side boundary layer state, thus justifying the influence of free-stream turbulence intensity on the blade aerodynamic losses measured under steady and unsteady inflows.

To study the influence of p.lluted air-mass transp.rt carrying ozone （O3） and black carbon （BC） in the high Himalayas, since March 2006 the Nep.l Climate Observatory at p.ramid （NCO-p. GAW-WMO global station （Nep.l, 5079 m a.s.l.） is op.rative. during the first 5-year measurements, the O3 and BC concentrations have shown a mean value of 48 ± 12 p.b （± standard deviation） and 208 ± 374 ng/m3, resp.ctively. Both O3 and BC showed well defined seasonal cycles with maxima during p.e-monsoon （O3 ： 61.3 ± 7.7 p.bV; BC： 444 ± 433 ng/m3） and minima during the summer monsoon （O3 ： 40.1 ± 12.4 p.bV; BC： 64 ± 101 ng/m3）. The analysis of the days characterised by the p.esence of a significant BC increase with resp.ct to the typ.cal seasonal cycle identified 156 days affected by ＂acute＂ p.llution events, corresp.nding to 9.1% of the entire data-set. Such events mostly occur in the p.e-monsoon p.riod, when the O3 diurnal variability is strongly related to the transp.rt of p.lluted air-mass rich on BC. On average, these ＂acute＂ p.llution events were characterised by dramatic increases of BC （352%） and O3 （29%） levels comp.red with the remaining days.
