Mercury ion(Hg^(2+)),as one of the most toxic heavy metal ions,accumulates easily in the environment,which can generate potential hazards to the ecosystem and human *** effectively detect and remove Hg^(2+),we fabricated four types of carbon dots(Cds)using carboxymethyl nanocellulose as a carbon source doped with different elements using a hydrothermal *** the Cds exhibited a strong fluorescence emission,excitation-dependent emission and possessed good water ***,the four fluorescent Cds were used for Hg^(2+)recognition in aqueous solution,where the Cds-N exhibited better sensitivity and selectivity for Hg^(2+)detection,with a low limit of detection of 8.29×10^(-6)mol/*** was determined that the fluorescence quenching could be ascribed to a photoinduced charge-transfer processes between Hg^(2+)and the *** addition,the Cds-N were used as a smart invisible ink for anticounterfeiting,information encryption and ***,the Cds-N were immersed into a cellulose(CMC)-based hydrogel network to prepare fluorescent hydrogels capable of simultaneously detecting and adsorbing Hg^(2+).We anticipate that this research will open possibilities for a green method to synthesize fluorescent Cds for metal ion detection and fluorescent ink production.

Genomic sequencing,bioinformatics,and initial speciation(e.g.,relative abundance)of the commensal microbiome have revolutionized the way we think about the“human”body in health and *** interactions between the gut bacteria and the immune system of the host play a key role in the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal diseases,including those impacting the *** relatively stable,there are a number of factors that may disrupt the delicate balance between the luminal esophageal microbiome(EM)and the *** changes are thought to be a product of age,diet,antibiotic and other medication use,oral hygiene,smoking,and/or expression of antibiotic products(bacteriocins)by other *** effects may lead to persistent dysbiosis which in turn increases the risk of local inflammation,systemic inflammation,and ultimately disease *** has suggested that the etiology of gastroesophageal reflux disease-related esophagitis includes a cytokine-mediated inflammatory component and is,therefore,not merely the result of esophageal mucosal exposure to corrosives(i.e.,acid).Emerging evidence also suggests that the EM plays a major role in the pathogenesis of disease by inciting an immunogenic response which ultimately propagates the inflammatory ***,we discuss the potential role for manipulating the EM as a therapeutic option for treating the root cause of various esophageal disease rather than just providing symptomatic relief(i.e.,acid suppression).

BACKGROUNd Rectosigmoid endometriosis is an underdiagnosed disease responsible for abdominal pain, transit disorders and rectal bleeding. Two surgical approaches,rectosigmoid bowel resection(segmental or patch) or intramuscular layer dissection(shaving), are *** To assess whether the lesion features observed via preoperative rectosigmoid endoscopic ultrasonography(RS-EUS) might predict the need for bowel *** This multicentric retrospective study was conducted on patients with rectosigmoid endometriosis who underwent a curative surgical procedure,evaluated by RS-EUS performed by two trained operators, between January 2012 and March 2018. A univariate statistical analysis was performed on nodules' RSEUS features(thickness, width, infiltration of the submucosae, presence of a bump into the digestive lumen and presence of multiple rectosigmoid localizations). A multivariate logistic regression was then performed on the significant *** Of the 367 patients, 73 patients with rectosigmoid endometriosis were evaluated by RS-EUS and underwent rectosigmoid surgery. After the univariate analysis was completed, thickness, width and infiltration of the submucosae were identified as potential predictive factors for bowel resection. In a multivariate logistic regression model, only thickness appeared to be a significant [odds ratio(OR) = 1.49, 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.04-2.12, P = 0.028] predictive factor for bowel resection. Receiver operating characteristic analysis performed showed that a thickness over 5.20 mm might be used as cut-off with a sensitivity of 76%, a specificity of 81%, and an area under carve = 0.82. The cut-off values for 100%sensitivity and 100% specificity were 0.90 mm and 10.00 mm, respectively. Self-healing of engineered cementitious composites(ECC) subjected to a cyclic drying and wetting regime simulated summer outdoor environment was investigated in this *** tension tests were used to generate multiple cracks in ECC specimens deformed to varying tensile *** quantify self-healing,resonant frequency measurements were conducted throughout drying-wetting cycles followed by tensile testing of self-healing ECC *** was found that through self-healing the resonant frequency of ECC can recover 81% to 90% of initial values while showing a distinct rebound in stiffness of cracked ECC after *** specimens pre-loaded to high levels of strain between 2% and 3%,the tensile strain after self-healing can recover from 1.8% to 2.2%.Also,the effects of temperature during cyclic regime can lead to an increase in the ultimate strength of the material while slightly decreasing the strain-hardening capacity of ECC due to further hydration of unreacted cement and fly ash.
