General and specialized metabolites in peanut roots regulate arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis

Resonant four-photon photoemission from SnSe_(2)(001)

High-order nonlinear multiphoton absorption is usually inefficient,but can be enhanced by.d.signing resonant excitations between occupied and unoccupied energy *** conducted angle-resolved multi-photon photoemission(mPPE)studies on the SnSe_(2)(001)surfaces excited by ultrashort laser *** tuning photon energy and light polarization,we demonstrate the presence of a resonant four-photon photoemission(4PPE)process involving the occupied valence band(VB),the unoccupied second conduction band(CB2)and the unoccupied image-potential state(IPs)of SnSe_(2).In this 4PPE process,VB electrons of SnSe_(2) are resonantly excited into CB2 by adsorbing two photons,followed by the adsorption of another photon to populate the n=1 IPs before being emitted out to the vacuum by adsorbing one more *** results in a double-resonant 4PPE process,which exhibits approximately a 40 times enhancement in photoemission yields compared to cases where one of the resonant pathways,CB2→IPs,is inhibited by involving a virtual state instead of the IPs in the *** double-resonant 4PPE process efficiently excite the bulk VB electrons outside the vacuum,like taking advantage of resonant“ladders”through two real empty electronic states of SnSe_(2).Our results highlight the important applications of mPPE in probing the band-structure,particularly the unoccupied states,of recently emerging main group dichalcogenide ***,the discovered resonant mPPE process contributes to the exploration of their promising optoelectronic applications.

Background: Physical inactivity is a major public health problem worldwide that results in physical and mental health problems. One major issue for physical inactivity is weight stigma (WS), especially perceived WS, which could lead to a tendency to avoid physical activity (PA). To better understand the association between perceived WS and PA, knowledge of the likely mediators in this association such as weight bias internalization (WBI) and psychological distress were investigated in the present study. Methods: Using a two-wave longitudinal study and convenient sampling, 388 Taiwanese participants (55% females; mean age = 29.7 years [Sd ± 6.3]) completed two surveys six months apart. Body mass index (BMI), Perceived Weight Stigma Scale (PWSS), Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS), depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale (dASS-21), and Tendency to Avoid Physical Activity and Sport Scale (TAPAS) were assessed. Results: A mediation model controlling for age, gender, and BMI with 5000 bootstrapping resamples was performed. Perceived WS exerted significant direct effects on WBI (β = 0.25; p ychological distress (β = 0.15; p = 0.003), and tendency to avoid PA (β =0.10;p = 0.027); WBI exerted a significant direct effect on tendency to avoid PA (β = 0.47; p dardized indirect effects of WBI and psychological distress on the association between perceived WS and tendency to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01, respectively. Conclusion: Given the direct association of perceived WS on the tendency to avoid PA and the mediating role of WBI in this association, interventions addressing perceived WS and WBI may contribute to promoting PA. Therefore, health interventionists (both when planning and executing PA programs) need to consider weight stigmawhen encouraging physical activity. © 2024 The Authors.

We present a comprehensive analysis of the 2021 outburst of MAXI J1803–298 utilizing observations of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT)spanning from the low hard state to the high soft *** the Insight-HXMT data set,compared to the previous work,we identify a more prolonged presence of typeC quasi-periodic oscillations(QPOs)with centroid frequencies ranging from~0.16 to 6.3 Hz,which present correlations with the hardness ratio and the photon index of the Comptonized *** QPO frequencies less than~2 Hz,the QPO phase lags are hard(photons of 10–19 keV arrive later than those of 1–4 keV),while at higher frequencies,the lags become soft at and above~4 ***,the spectra in all Insight-HXMT observations consist of a multi-color blackbody component and a Comptonized component,as commonly observed in classical black hole X-ray *** analyze state transitions and the evolution of accretion geometry in this *** fitted inner disk radius increases abnormally.d.ring the low hard state,hypothesized to result from the corona condensing onto the inner ***,two significant drops in flux are observed during the soft intermediate state,maybe implying changes in the corona/jet and the disk,respectively.

Charge adaptive phytochemical-based nanoparticles for eradication of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus biofilms

The intrinsic resistance of MRSA coupled with biofilm antibiotic tolerance challenges the antibiotic treatment of MRSA biofilm ***-based nanoplatform is a promising emerging approach for treatment of biofilm ***,their therapeutic efficacy was restricted by the low drug loading capacity and lack of ***,we constructed a surface charge adaptive phytochemical-based nanoparticle with high isoliquiritigenin (ISL) loading content for effective treatment of MRSA biofilm.A dimeric ISL prodrug (ISL-G2) bearing a lipase responsive ester bond was synthesized,and then encapsulated into the amphiphilic quaternized *** obtained ISL-G2loaded NPs possessed positively charged surface,which allowed cis-aconityl-d-tyrosine(CA-Tyr) binding via electrostatic interaction to obtain ISL-G2@TMdCOS-Tyr *** NPs maintained their negatively charged surface,thus prolonging the blood circulation *** response to low pH in the biofilms,the fast removal of CA-Tyr led to a shift in their surface charge from negative to positive,which enhanced the accumulation and penetration of NPs in the ***,the pH-triggered release of d-tyrosine dispersed the biofilm and lipase-triggered released of ISL effectively kill biofilm *** in vivo study was performed on a MRSA biofilm infected wound *** phytochemical-based system led to～2log CFU (>99%) reduction of biofilm MRSA as compared to untreated wound (Py in *** phytochemical dimer nanoplatform shows great potential for long-term treatment of resistant bacterial infections.

Thermo-kinetic characteristics on stabilizing hetero-phase interface of metal matrix composites by crystal plasticity finite element method

Using dislocation-based constitutive modeling in three-dimension crystal plasticity finite element(3d CPFE)simulations,co-deformation and instability of hetero-phase interface in different material systems were herein studied for polycrystalline metal matrix composites(MMCs).Local stress and strain fields in two types of 3layer MMCs such as fcc/fcc Cu-Ag and fcc/bcc Cu-Nb have been predicted under simple compressive ***,more severe strain-induced interface instability can be observed in the fcc/bcc systems than in the fcc/fcc systems upon refining to metallic nanolayered composites(MNCs).By.d.tailed analysis of stress and strain localization,it has been demonstrated that the interface instability is always accompanied by high-stress concentration,i.e.,thermodynamic characteristics,or high strain prevention i.e.,kinetic characteristics,at the hetero-phase *** then follows that the thermodynamic driving forceG and the kinetic energy barrier Q during dislocation and shear banding can be adopted to classify the deformation modes,following the so-called thermo-kinetic *** by inserting a high density of high-energy interfaces into the Cu-Nb composites,such thermo-kinetic integration at the hetero-phase interface allows a successful establishment of MMCs with the high△G-high Q deformation mode,which ensures high hardening and uniform strain distri-bution,thus efficiently suppressing the shear band,stabilizing the hetero-phase interface,and obtaining an exceptional combination in strength and *** hetero-phase interface chosen by a couple of thermodynamics and kinetics can be defined as breaking the thermo-kinetic correlation and has been proposed for artificially.d.signing MNCs.
