This paper explores the asymmetric effect of COVID-19 pandemic news,as measured by the coronavirus indices(Panic,Hype,Fake News,Sentiment,Infodemic,and Media Coverage),on the cryptocurrency *** daily data from January 2020 to September 2021 and the exponential generalized autoregressive conditional heter-oskedasticity model,the results revealed that both adverse and optimistic news had the same effect on Bitcoin returns,indicating fear of missing out behavior does not ***,when the nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag model is esti-mated,both positive and negative shocks in pandemic indices promote Bitcoin’s daily changes;thus,Bitcoin is resistant to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic crisis and may serve as a hedge during market *** analysis of frequency domain causality supports a unidirectional causality running from the Coronavirus Fake News Index and Sentiment Index to Bitcoin returns,whereas daily fluctuations in the Bitcoin price Granger affect the Coronavirus Panic Index and the Hype *** findings may have significant policy implications for investors and governments because they highlight the impor-tance of news during turbulent *** empirical results indicate that pandemic news could significantly influence Bitcoin’s price.

Jaén is one of the most important cities in the northern highlands of Peru due to its strategic location,commerce,and agricultural ***én has more than 185 thousand inhabitants,of which 48%live in rural areas,representing approximately 31 thousand rural *** research aims to determine the types of rural housing in Jaen,showing the possible variations and architectural manifestations due to the territorial and cultural characteristics.A field observation sheet has been used to study the rural dwellings of populated centres previously classified by altitudinal *** results show six architectural types of rural housing classified into two groups:"rural-residential housing"and"rural-agricultural housing"'These architectural types are generally located near water sources,within agricultural plots,and on *** architectural program is characterised by agricultural activity and family composition,which has grown over *** most commonly used construction systems are"pirca"and"quincha"',using natural materials such as"ichu"and *** is also evidence of cultural traditions rooted in the construction,such as"cambio de fuerzas""paracaico",and"minga".Therefore,the relevance of Jaen's rural housing is its geographical reading of the territory through the architectural and cultural legacy of these buildings.

AIM:To investigate the diagnostic accuracy of acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) imaging as a noninvasive method for the assessment of liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C (CHC) ***:We performed a prospective blind com-parison of ARFI elastography,APRI index and FibroMax in a consecutive series of patients who underwent liver biopsy for CHC in University Hospital Bucharest. His-topathological staging of liver fibrosis according to the METAVIR scoring system served as the reference. A to-tal of 74 patients underwent ARFI elastography,APRI index,FibroMax and successful liver biopsy. RESULTS:The noninvasive tests had a good correlation with the liver biopsy results. The most powerful test in predicting fibrosis was ARFI elastography. The diagnostic accuracy of ARFI elastography,expressedas area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) had a validity of 90.2% (95% CI AUROC = 0.831-0.972,P < 0.001) for the diagnosis of significant f ibrosis (F ≥ 2). ARFI sonoelastography predicted even better F3 or F4 fibrosis (AUROC = 0.993,95% CI = 0.979-1).CONCLUSION:ARFI elastography had very good accuracy for the assessment of liver fibrosis and was superior to other noninvasive methods (APRI Index,FibroMax) for staging liver fibrosis.

BACKGROUND Quality control in colon cancer surgery is an ongoing debate ever since standardization proved to be highly efficient in improving survival in rectal cancer. Complete mesocolic excision(CME) is widely acclaimed as the new goldstandard in colon cancer resections, thus it is imperative to establish quality criteria of CME in order to make it easily understood and verified by surgeons worldwide. One simple and reproducible tool could be the measurement of arterial stumps postoperatively and a straightforward way to test its reliability is to test it in a comparative study between CME and non-CME *** To validate arterial stump measurement as a surgical quality tool by comparing CME with conventional radical *** This was a retrospective study, carried out on a prospective database. We collected data from two groups of patients, divided according to standard CME with D2 central vascular ligation(group A) and non-standardized surgery(group B). The two groups were compared with regard to the arterial stump length after right-and left-sided colectomies for colon cancer. The actual stump lengths of the ileocolic artery(ICA) and inferior mesenteric artery(IMA) were compared with their theoretical best D2 position of predicted ligation levels(D2 PLLs) for calculating the potential for improvement. Measurements on follow-up computed tomography scans were carried out by three observers. Pathological data were recorded(specimen length, lymph node yield) and correlated with stump *** We analysed 58 colectomies. The stump lengths(mean ± SD) in group A were16.97 ± 4.77 mm for ICA and 31.70 ± 15.71 mm for IMA, whereas group B had 49.93 ± 20.29 mm for ICA and 67.24 ± 28.71 mm for IMA. Shorter lengths were obtained in group A, by a mean difference of 35.66 mm(χ~2 = 27.38, P < 0.001),which was significant for all types of colectomies. Animals have evolved foraging strategies to acquire blends of nutrients that maximize fitness traits. In social insects, nu trie nt regulation is complicated by the fact that few in dividuals, the foragers, must address the diverge nt nutritional n eeds of all colony members simulta neously, includi ng other workers, the reproductives, and the brood. Here we used 3D nutritional geometry design to examine how bumblebee workers regulate their collection of 3 major macronutrients in the presence and absenee of brood. We provided small colonies artificial nectars (liquid diets) and pollens (solid diets) varying in their compositions of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates during 2 weeks. Colo nies give n a choice betwee n nutrition ally complementary diets self-selected foods to reach a target ratio of 71% proteins, 6% carbohydrates, and 23% lipids, irrespective of the presenee of brood. Whe n con fined to a single nutrition ally imbalanced solid diet, colonies without brood regulated lipid collection and over-collected protein relative to this target ratio, whereas colonies with brood regulated both lipid and protein collection. This brood effect on the regulation of nutrient collection by workers suggests that protein levels are critical for larval development. Our results highlight the importa nee of con sidering bee nu trition as a multidimensi onal phe no men on to better assess the effects of environmental impoverishment and malnutrition on population declines.

Compelling evidence supports the crucial role of the receptor for advanced glycation end-products(RAGE)axis activation in many clinical *** the beginning of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic,there is an increasing concern about the risk and handling of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection in inflammatory gastrointestinal disorders,such as inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD).However,clinical data raised during pandemic suggests that IBD patients do not have an increased risk of contracting SARS-CoV-2 infection or develop a more severe course of *** the present review,we intend to highlight how two potentially important contributors to the inflammatory response to SARS-CoV-2 infection in IBD patients,the RAGE axis activation as well as the cross-talk with the renin-angiotensin system,are dampened by the high expression of soluble forms of both RAGE and the angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE)*** soluble form of RAGE functions as a decoy for its ligands,and soluble ACE2 seems to be an additionally attenuating contributor to RAGE axis activation,particularly by avoiding the transactivation of the RAGE axis that can be produced by the virus-mediated imbalance of the ACE/angiotensin II/angiotensin II receptor type 1 pathway.

Bacterial Cellulose-Based Janus Films with Radiative Cooling and Solar Heating Properties for All-Season Thermal Management

Advanced radiative cooling materials with both heating and cooling mode is of pivotal importance for all-season energy-saving in *** this work,we report the design and fabrication of bacterial cellulose-based Janus films(J-BC)with radiative cooling and solar heating properties,which were developed by two-step vacuum-assisted filtration of modified MXene-doped bacterial cellulose and modified silicon nitride(Si_(3)N_(4))-doped bacterial cellulose,followed by hot-pressing and drying *** as-prepared J-BC films show a unique Janus structure where modified MXene nanosheets and cellulose nanofibers are on the bottom surface,and modified silicon nitride(Si_(3)N_(4))nanoparticles and cellulose nanofibers are on the top *** radiative cooling effect of J-BC films is enabled by the Si_(3)N_(4)-doped bacterial cellulose due to the high mid-infrared emissivity of Si_(3)N_(4) nanoparticles,which shows a high solar reflection of~98.1%and high emissivity of~93.6%in the atmospheric transparency window(8-13μm).Thanks to the enhanced photothermal conversion of the modified MXene nanosheets,a reduced solar reflection(6.6%)and relatively low thermal emissivity in the atmospheric window(71.4%)are achieved,making sure the solar heating effect of J-BC *** the outdoor tests,J-BC films achieve a sub-ambient temperature drop of~3.8°C and an above-ambient temperature rise of~14.2°*** prediction demonstrated that the J-BC films with dual modes have great potential of all-season energy saving for buildings and a corresponding energy-saving map in China is also *** work disclosed herein can provide an avenue for the shaping of advanced radiative cooling materials for emerging applications of personal thermal management,sustainable energy-efficient buildings,and beyond.
