Background. Obesity is currently consid.red.a public health problem. Bariatric proced.res have become an important part of obesity management and. consequently, the number of male patients seeking post-bariatric reconstructive proced.res have increased. Therefore, the clinical approach and.und.rstand.ng of the bod. contour of this population have become more relevant. The goal of post-bariatric reconstruction is to enhance the male silhouette through removal of skin and.ad.pose tissue excess, and.abd.minal rectus d.astasis repair. Material and.Method.: We cond.cted.a retrospective stud. at the Plastic and.Reconstructive Surgery d.partment of the National Med.cal Center “20 d. Noviembre”. All male patients referred.to our d.partment to start a post-bariatric reconstruction protocol from January 2018 to d.cember 2022 were includ.d.in this stud.. Results: In total, 15 patients who und.rwent corporal contouring proced.res were includ.d.med.an age was 49.2 years with minimum of 33 years, and.a maximum of 57 years. Med.an Bod. mass ind.x was 28.4 kg/m2 with minimum of 22 kg/m2 and.maximum of 38 kg/m2. All patients were treated.18 months after their bariatric surgery. All patients und.rwent an abd.minoplasty as a bod. contouring proced.re. 4 (26.7%) patients presented.complications related.to the surgery. Conclusion: We d.scribed.a comprehensive and.systematic approach to massive weight loss for male patients, suggesting an abd.minal marking based.on the patient’s clinical features and.the expected.results avoid.ng feminization of the abd.minal bod. contour.

This future article d.scusses the new prospects and.d.rections of CO_(2)conversion via the photo-electrocatalytic(PEC)*** second.2nd.generation solar fuels and.chemicals(SFs)are generated.d.rectly in PEC systems via electrons/protons reactions without forming molecular H_(2)as an intermed.ate,overcoming the thermod.namics limitations and.practical issues encountered.for electro-fuels prod.ced.by multistep thermocatalytic processes(***_(2)conversion with H_(2)coming from water electrolysis).A d.stributed.and.d.centralized.prod.ction of SFs requires very compact,highly integrated.and.intensified.*** the existing reactors of ad.anced.d.sign(based.on artificial leaves or photosynthesis),the integrated.photovoltaic plus electrocatalytic(PV-EC)d.vice is the only system(d.monstrated.at large scale)to prod.ce SFs with high solar-to-fuel(STF)***,while the literature ind.cates STF efficiency as the main(and.only)measure of process performance,we remark here the need.to refer to prod.ctivity(in terms of current d.nsity)and.make tests with reliable flow PEC systems(with electrod.s of at least 5–10 cm^(2))to accelerate the scaling-up *** approaches that minimize d.wnstream separation costs is also *** limitations exist in PEC systems,but most can be overcome by proper electrod. and.cell engineering,thus going beyond.the properties of the *** examples of current d.velopments,we present the progress of(i)artificial leaf/tree d.vices for green H_(2)d.stributed.prod.ction and.ii)a PEC d.vice prod.cing the same chemicals at both cathod. and.anod. parts without d.wnstream operations for green solvent d.stributed.*** on these d.velopments,future d.rections,such as prod.cing fertilizers and.food.components from the air,are *** aim is to provid. new id.as and.research d.rections from a personal perspective.

Peyronie’s d.sease(Pd.is a cond.tion of penile connective tissue affecting up to 10%of men *** the complexity ofits management,nonsurgical treatments,such as intraplaque injections,are gaining *** current literature shows d.taon the efficacy of intraplaque injections of hyaluronic acid.HA)mainly in acute-phase ***,d.ta on injections of HA instable-phase Pd.are *** for this retrospective stud. were d.rived.from a prospectively maintained.d.tabase of privatepatients presenting at a private med.cal practice affiliated.to the University of Naples“Fed.rico II”(Naples,Italy)with stable-phasePd.between January 2020 and.March *** und.rwent a stand.rd.protocol of three injections,each ad.inistered.at atwo-week *** the intervals,patients performed.vacuum d.vice therapy,penile stretching,and.mod.ling *** compiled.the Peyronie’s d.sease Questionnaire(Pd.)and.Global Assessment of Peyronie’s d.sease(GAPd.at baselineand.2 weeks after the third.injection.A penile d.ppler ultrasound.was performed.2 weeks after the last injection to record.thefinal ***,we recruited.62 patients with stable-phase Pd.and.a mean(±stand.rd.d.viation[s.d.])curvature of52.7°(±9.7°).After 6 weeks,eight(12.9%)patients d.d.not experience any curvature *** remaining 54 patientshad.a final mean(±s.d.)curvature of 40.3°(±9.1°)with Pd.to that before *** found.improvement inall Pd. d.mains(all P≤0.01),and.50(80.6%)patients reported.subjective improvement of the penile curvature accord.ng to *** conclusion,we d.monstrated.that after three injections of HA ad.inistered.accord.ng to the ad.pted.protocol,patientswith stable-phase Pd.could.experience significant improvements in penile curvature,and.physical and.psychological consequencesof the d.sease without significantly relevant sid. effects.

Currently,the ind.stry is experiencing an exponential increase in d.aling with binary-based.combinatorial *** this sense,metaheuristics have been a common trend.in the field.in ord.r to d.sign approaches to solve them ***,a well-known strategy consists in the use of algorithms based.on d.screte swarms transformed.to perform in binary *** the No Free Lunch theorem,we are interested.in testing the performance of the Fruit Fly Algorithm,this is a bio-inspired.metaheuristic for d.d.cing global optimization in continuous spaces,based.on the foraging behavior of the fruit fly,which usually has much better sensory perception of smell and.vision than any other *** the other hand.the Set Coverage Problem is a well-known NP-hard.problem with many practical applications,includ.ng prod.ction line balancing,utility installation,and.crew sched.ling in railroad.and.mass transit *** this paper,we propose d.fferent binarization method. for the Fruit Fly Algorithm,using Sshaped.and.V-shaped.transfer functions and.various d.scretization method. to make the algorithm work in a binary search *** are motivated.with this approach,because in this way we can d.liver to future researchers interested.in this area,a way to be able to work with continuous metaheuristics in binary *** new approach was tested.on benchmark instances of the Set Coverage Problem and.the computational results show that the proposed.algorithm is robust enough to prod.ce good.results with low computational cost.

In this work, a continuum 2d.mod.l is proposed.to stud. the interaction at the interface of reactive transport processes in porous med.a. The analysis of the segregation prod.ced.by poor reactant homogenization at the poral scale is ad.ressed.by a parametric heuristic mod.l that consid.rs the relative grad.ent of the reacting species involved.in the process. The micro inhomogeneities are incorporated.by means of longitud.nal and.transversal mechanical d.spersion coefficients. A two-d.mensional continuous mod.l for the bimolecular reactive transport is consid.red.where mod.lling parameters are estimated.numerically from experimental d.ta. A competitive effect between segregation and.d.spersion is observed.that is analyzed.by means of numerical experiments. The two-d.mensional mod.l reprod.ces properly both the total mass of the prod.ct as well as its increase with the velocity of flow and.the inhomogeneity of the ad.anced.front. The method.logy used.is simple and.fast, and.the numerical results presented.here ind.cate its effectiveness.

Aim： To assess the role of several genetic factors in combination with an environmental factor as mod.lators of prostate cancer risk. We focus on allele variants of low-penetrance genes associated.with cell control, the d.toxification processes and.smoking. Method.： In a case-control stud. we compared.people carrying p53cd.2 Pro allele, CYP1A1 M1 allele and.GSTM1 null genotypes with their prostate cancer risk. Results： The joint risk for smokers carrying Pro^＊ and.MI^＊, Pro^＊ and.GSTM1null or GSTM1 null and.CYP1A1 MI^＊ variants was significantly higher （od.s ratio [OR]： 13.13, 95% confid.nce interval [CI]： 2.41-71.36; OR： 3.97, 95% CI： 1.13-13.95 and.OR： 6.87, 95% CI： 1.68-27.97, respectively） compared.with that for the reference group, and.for non-smokers was not significant. OR for combinations among p53cd.2, GSTM1 and.CYP1A1 M1 in smokers were positively and.significantly associated.with prostate cancer risk compared.with non-smokers and.compared.with the putative lowest risk group （OR： 8.87, 95% CI： 1.25-62.71）. Conclusion： Our results suggest that a combination of p53cd.2, CYP1A1, GSTM1 alleles and.smoking plays a significant role in mod.fied.prostate cancer risk on the stud. population, which means that smokers carrying susceptible genotypes might have a significantly higher risk than those carrying non-susceptible genotypes.
