Recently,analyzing big data on the move is *** requires that the hardware resource should be low volume,low power,light in weight,high-performance,and highly scalable whereas the management software should be flexible and consume little hardware *** meet these requirements,we present a system named SOCA-DOM that encompasses a mobile system-on-chip array architecture and a two-tier“software-defined”resource manager named ***,we design an Ethernet communication board to support an array of mobile ***,we propose a two-tier software architecture for Chameleon to make it ***,we devise data,configuration,and control planes for Chameleon to make it“software-defined”and in turn consume hardware resources on ***,we design an accurate synthetic metric that represents the computational power of a computing *** employ 12 Apache Spark benchmarks to evaluate ***,SOCA-DOM consumes up to 9.4x less CPU resources and 13.5x less memory than Mesos which is an existing resource *** addition,we show that a 16-node SOCA-DOM consumes up to 4x less energy than two standard Xeon *** on the results,we conclude that an array architecture with fine-grained hardware resources and a software-defined resource manager works well for analyzing big data on the move.

Association between preoperative high sensitive troponin I levels and cardiovascular events after hip fracture surgery in the elderly

Objective Cardiovascular complications contribute to postoperative morbidity and mortality in elderly hip fracture patients. Limited data are available regarding which preoperative risk factors predict cardiovascular course following hip fracture surgery （HFS）. We used high sensitive troponin I （hs-TnI） assays and clinical parameters to identify preoperative risk factors associated with major adverse cardiac events （MACE） in elderly hip frac^u＇e patients. Method From August 2014 to November 2016, 575 patients with hip fracture were enrolled in a retrospective, single-center registry. A total of 262 of these patients underwent HFS and hs-TnI assays. MACE was defined as postoperative all-cause deaths, heart failure （HF）, new-onset atrial fibrillation （AF）, myocardial infarction （MI） and cardiovascular re-hospitalization that occurred within 90 days postoperative. Results Of 262 HFS patients, MACE developed following HFS in 65 （24.8%）. Patients with MACE were older and had higher rates of renal insufficiency, coronary artery disease, prior HF, low left ventricular ejection fraction and use of beta blockers; higher levels of hs-Tnl and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide （NT-proBNP） and higher revised cardiac risk index. A preoperative hs-TnI≥ 6.5 ng/L was associated with high risk of postoperative HF, new-onset AF and MACE. In multivariable analysis, pre-operative independent predictors for MACE were age 〉 80 years [adjusted hazard ratio （HR）： 1.79, 95% confident interval （CI）： 1.03-3.13, P = 0.04], left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）〈 50% （adjusted HR： 3.17, 95% CI： 1.47-5.82, P 〈 0.01） and hs-TnI 〉 6.5 ng/L （adjusted HR： 3.75, 95% CI： 2.09~5.17, P 〈 0.01）. Conclusion In elderly patients with hip fracture who undergo HFS, a preoperative assessment of hs-TnI may help the risk refinement of cardiovascular complications.

Dendritic cell-based immunotherapy for colon cancer using an HLA-A＊0201-restricted cytotoxic T-lymphocyte epitope from tumor-associated antigen 90K

Tumor-associated antigen 90K is implicated in cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix adhesion through its interaction with galectin-3 and integrin-β 1 and is highly expressed in malignant tissues, making it a novel target for the development of new immunotherapies. We investigated a potential immunotherapy treatment for colon cancer using 90K-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes induced by autologous dendritic cells and pulsed with 90K peptides. We selected three peptides （90K3s1, 90K5 and 90K523） that bind to HLA-A＊0201 molecules on the basis of their binding affinity, as determined by a peptide-T2 binding assay. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides resulted in the efficient generation of mature dendritic cells and exhibited enhanced T-cell stimulation and polarization of naive T cells toward Thl. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides generated potent cytotoxic T-lymphocytes that lysed T2 cells loaded with each 90K peptide, and 90K＋/HLA-A2＋ colon cancer cell lines, including HCT116 and SW480, in a dose-dependent and HLA-A＊O2Ol-restricted manner. No killing was observed in 90K＋/HLA-A2- DLD1 or 90K-/HLA-A2- K562 cells. Therefore, we believe that cytotoxic T-lymphocytes stimulated by 90K peptide-pulsed dendritic cells naturally recognize the 90K peptide presented by colon cancer cells in the context of HLA-A2, and kill 90K-positive tumor cells. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides led to the induction of granzyme B and perforin positive CD8＋ T cells against HCT116 and SW480 cells, but not DLD1 cells. In conclusion, 90K-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, generated by stimulating T cells with 90K peptide-pulsed dendritic cells, could be useful effector cells for the immunotherapv treatment of colon cancer.

Intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging for monitoring chemotherapeutic efficacy in gastric cancer

AIM: To assess intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI) for monitoring early efficacy of chemotherapy in a human gastric cancer mouse ***: IVIM-DWI was performed with 12 b-values (0-800 s/mm2) in 25 human gastric cancer-bearing nude mice at baseline (day 0), and then they were randomly divided into control and 1-, 3-, 5- and 7-d treatment groups (n = 5 per group). The control group underwent longitudinal MRI scans at days 1, 3, 5 and 7, and the treatment groups underwent subsequent MRI scans after a specified 5-fluorouracil/calcium folinate treatment. Together with tumor volumes (TV), the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and IVIM parameters [true water molecular diffusion coefficient (D), perfusion fraction (f) and pseudo-related diffusion coefficient (D*)] were measured. The differences in those parameters from baseline to each measurement (ΔTV%, ΔADC%, ΔD%, Δf% and ΔD*%) were calculated. After image acquisition, tumor necrosis, microvessel density (MVD) and cellular apoptosis were evaluated by hematoxylin-eosin (HE), CD31 and terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining respectively, to confirm the imaging findings. Mann-Whitney test and Spearman’s correlation coefficient analysis were ***: The observed relative volume increase (ΔTV%) in the treatment group were significantly smaller than those in the control group at day 5 (ΔTVtreatment% = 19.63% ± 3.01% and ΔTVcontrol% = 83.60% ± 14.87%, P = 0.008) and day 7 (ΔTVtreatment% = 29.07% ± 10.01% and ΔTVcontrol% = 177.06% ± 63.00%, P = 0.008). OBJECTIVE: To find out the combination of the extracts from Paeonia lactiflora Pallas(PL), Rehmannia Glutinosa var. Purpurea Makino(RG), Perilla Frutescens var. Acuta Kudo(PF) to increase endometrial ***: Herbal medicines were extracted with boiling water and polysaccharides were *** examined the effect of PL, RG, and PF(PRP), a most effective herbal formula deduced from constitutive ingredient herbs of Antai Yin which is composed of PRP, on the leukemia inhibitory factor(LIF) expression and endometrial ***: The combination of the extracts from PRP induced the LIF expression in Ishikawa cells and increased the adhesion between Ishikawa and JAr cells. In addition, PRP-induced attachment of JAr cells onto Ishikawa cells and expression of adhesion molecules, ITGAV, ITGB5, CD44 s, and Lselectin, are significantly reduced by knock-down of LIF ***: Induced by the combination of the PRP extracts, the adhesion between trophoblast and endometrial cells are mediated by expression of LIF and adhesion molecules. Thus, we suggest the combination of the PRP extracts may be a novel therapy for enhancing embryo implantation rate.

Migration routes and differences in migration strategies of Whooper Swans between spring and autumn

Long-distance migratory birds travel more rapidly in spring than in autumn,as they face temporal breeding ***,several species travel slower in spring owing to environmental influences,such as food availability and wind *** trackers were attached to 17 Whooper Swans(Cygnus cygnus) inhabiting northeastern Mongolia,to determine their migration routes and stopover sites in spring and *** between spring and autumn migrations,migration-influencing parameters,and the effect of spring stopover site temperatures were *** swans completed perfect tours between their wintering and breeding sites,and these data were used for *** migration lasted 57 days,with 49.2 days spent at 3.7 stopover *** migration lasted 21.5 days,with 17.5 days spent at 1.0 stopover ***,the swans traveled more rapidly in autumn than in *** distance,number of stopovers,migration speed,and straightness were important migration determinants in both spring and *** distance,stopover duration,number of stopovers,daily travel speed,travel duration,and migration speed differed significantly between spring and *** spring migration,the temperature at the current stopover sites and that at the future stopover sites displayed significant variations(t=1585.8,df=631.6,p <0.001).These findings are critical for the conservation and management of Whooper Swans and their key habitats in East Asian regions,and the data are anticipated to make a particularly significant contribution toward developing detailed management plans for the conservation of their key habitats.
