BACKGROUND Metal-on-metal(MoM)total hip arthroplasty(THA)has been associated with adverse reactions to metal debris,presenting clinically as *** SUMMARY This case report presents a female aged 73 year-old with MoM THA-related *** arthrotomy and bursectomy surgeries,histologic examinations of surgical specimens revealed a specific lymphocyte-dominant immunologic response,now known as aseptic lymphocyte-dominant vasculitisassociated lesion(ALVAL).Due to soft tissue persisting effusion after arthrotomy and bursectomy,revision surgery was then performed with ceramic-onpolyethylene ***,revision did not resolve the patient’s *** we describe our application of tigecycline sclerotherapy to treat recurrent pseudotumor after revision THA and no recurrence after 24-mo *** Tigecycline sclerotherapy is safe and effective in the management of recurrent pseudotumor after revision non-MoM THA in ALVAL cases.

This editorial assesses the prognostic value of preoperative inflammatory and nutritional biomarkers in patients undergoing surgical resection for pancreatic *** et al evaluated the ability of seven biomarkers to predict postoperative recovery and long-term *** biomarkers were albumin-to-globulin ratio,prognostic nutritional index(PNI),systemic immune-inflammation index,neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio,platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio,nutritional risk index,and geriatric nutritional risk *** PNI was found to be a strong predictor of both overall and recurrence-free survival,underscoring its clinical relevance in managing patients with pancreatic cancer.

This editorial examines a recent study that used radiomics based on computed tomography(CT)to predict the expression of the fibroblast-related gene enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2)and its correlation with the survival of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).By integrating radiomics with molecular analysis,the study presented a strategy for accurately predicting the expression of EZH2 from CT *** findings demonstrated a strong link between the radiomics model,EZH2 expression,and patient *** noninvasive approach provides valuable insights into the therapeutic management of HCC.

The sediment distributed and insolated under lake was collected for experiments. The nutrient layer distribution conditions of sampled sediment and its physical and chemical characteristics were analyzed to simulate and assess the influence degree to lake water quality. Based on the dynamic water exchanging experiments the nutrient release process in sediment and influence mechanism to substance exchanging on water-sediment interface was studied, and the correlation between the changing content of total phosphors and total nitrogen in sediment and covered water were analyzed for setting up a simulation model. At the same time the influence degree is explained in detail. The experimental results indicated that even if clean water without nutrient contents was used for water exchangement so as to decrease pollution or prevent eutrophication, however owing to the vertical nutrient distribution in lake sediment, it will lead to the increasing release amount greatly especially when the organic nutrient contained in sediment turns into inorganic status because of isolation. Besides the release process of total phosphate （TP） and total nitrogen （TN） were modeled and each nutrient＇s exchanging equation at interface caused by covered water nutrient concentration changing was set up. According to the simulating prediction, TP and TN content of cover water will also sustain a steady higher level in a long period. The nutrient release amount of sediment is not only affected by the covered water concentration but also connects with accumulative time. The experiments provide the fundamental theoretical and practical basis for taking ecological restoration project. And research is helpful to prevent or restore lake eutrophication.

A New Approach for Preparing Effective Inhibition Film on Copper Based on Self-assembled Process

A new method for preparing effective inhibition film on copper has been developed. Phenylthiourea (PT) was first absorbed to copper surface to form a monolayer. 1-Dodecanethiol (DT) was then assembled on the surface for modification. Finally, AC voltage was loaded on copper covered the mixed film to improve it further. After these processes, an effective inhibition film was gained because of its high charge transfer resistance and low corrosion current density shown in electrochemical impedance spectra and polarization. The inhibition efficiency was more than 97%.

This paper investigated the influences of surface properties of carbon support and nickel precursors(nickel nitrate, nickel chloride and nickel acetate) on Ni nanoparticle sizes and catalytic performances for steam reforming of toluene. Treatment with nitric acid helped to increase the amount of functional groups on the surface and hydrophilic nature of carbon support, leading to a homogeneous distribution of Ni nanoparticles. The thermal decomposition products of nickel precursor also played an important role, Ni nanoparticles supported on carbon treated with acid using nickel nitrate as the precursor exhibited the smallest mean diameter of 4.5 nm. With the loading amount increased from 6 wt% to 18 wt%, the mean particle size of Ni nanoparticles varied from4.5 nm to 9.1 nm. The as-prepared catalyst showed a high catalytic activity and a good stability for toluene steam reforming: 98.1% conversion of toluene was obtained with the Ni content of 12 wt% and the S/C ratio of3, and the conversion only decreased to 92.0% after 700 min. Because of the high activity, good stability, and low cost, the as-prepared catalyst opens up new opportunities for tar removing.

This article discusses the recent study written by Koizumi et ***-associated liver disease(ALD)is a major cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality,which is driven by complex mechanisms,including lipid accumulation,apoptosis,and inflammatory responses exacerbated by gut barrier *** study explored the therapeutic potential of elafibranor,a dual peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor alpha/delta *** clinical trials,elafibranor has shown promise for the treatment of other liver conditions;however,its effects on ALD remain *** authors’findings indicate that elafibranor significantly reduced liver fibrosis and enhanced gut barrier integrity in patients with *** positive effects of elafibranor are mediated through multiple *** promotes lipid metabolism,reduces oxidative stress,and inhibits inflammatory responses by restoring gut barrier ***,it improves hepatocyte function by enhancing autophagic and antioxidant capacity,and it mitigates inflammation by suppressing the lipopolysaccharide/toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor kappa B signaling *** findings indicate that elafibranor has promising clinical *** addition,the study highlights elafibranor’s potential as a therapeutic agent for liver diseases,particularly *** article underscores the importance of understanding the mechanistic pathways underlying ALD and suggests directions for future research aimed at elucidating the benefits and limitations of elafibranor.
