Characteristics of gut microbiota in representative mice strains:Implications for biological research

Background:Experimental animals are used to study physiological phenomena,pathological mechanisms,and disease *** gut microbiome is known as a potential confounding factor for inconsistent data from preclinical *** many gut microbiome studies have been conducted in recent decades,few have focused on gut microbiota fluctuation among representative mouse ***:A range of frequently used mouse strains were selected from 34 isolation packages representing disease-related animal(DRA),immunity defect animal(IDA),or gene-editing animal(GEA)from the BALB/c and C57BL/6J backgrounds together with normal mice,and their microbial genomic DNA were isolated from mouse feces to sequence for the exploration of gut ***:Mouse background strain,classification,introduced source,introduced year,and reproduction type significantly affected the gut microbiota structure(p<0.001 for all parameters),with background strain contributing the greatest influence(R^(2)=0.237).In normal groups,distinct gut microbiota types existed in different mouse ***-four core operational taxonomic units were obtained from normal mice,and 12 belonged to ***,the gut microbiota in C57BL/6J was more stable than that in BALB/c ***,the gut microbiota in the IDA,GEA,and DRA groups significantly differed from that in normal groups(p<0.001 for all).Compared with the normal group,there was a significantly higher Chao 1 and Shannon index(p<0.001 for all)in the IDA,GEA,and DRA *** changed classes occurred with Firmicutes and *** abundances of Helicobacter,Blautia,Enterobacter,Bacillus,Clostridioides,Paenibacillus,and Clostridiales all significantly decreased in the IDA,GEA,and DRA groups,whereas those of Saccharimonas,Rikenella,and Odoribacter all significantly increased.

In previous studies,researchers have used singing to treat respiratory function in patients with spinal cord ***,few studies have examined the way in which vocal training affects respiratory neural plasticity in patients with spinal cord *** respiratory training(VRT)is a type of vocal muscle-related treatment that is often a component of music therapy(MT)and focuses on strengthening respiratory muscles and improving lung *** this randomized controlled study,we analyzed the therapeutic effects of VRT on respiratory dysfunction at 3 months after cervical spinal cord *** an initial group of 37 patients,26 completed the music therapy intervention,which comprised five 30-minute sessions per week for 12 *** intervention group(n=13)received VRT training delivered by professional certified music *** control group(n=13)received respiratory physical therapy delivered by professional physical *** with the control group,we observed a substantial increase in respiratory function in the intervention group after the 12-week ***,the nerve fiber bundles in the respiratory center in the medulla exhibited a trend towards increased diversification,with an increased number,path length,thickness,and density of nerve fiber *** findings provide strong evidence for the effect of music therapeutic VRT on neural *** study was approved by the Ethics Committee of China Rehabilitation Research Center(approval No.2020-013-1)on April 1,2020,and was registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration *** CTR2000037871)on September 2,2020.

Polar-coded forward error correction for MLC NAND flash memory

With the ever-growing storage density, high-speed, and low-cost data access, flash memory has inevitably become popular. Multi-level cell(MLC) NAND flash memory, which can well balance the data density and memory stability, has occupied the largest market share of flash memory. With the aggressive memory scaling, however, the reliability decays sharply owing to multiple interferences. Therefore, the control system should be embedded with a suitable error correction code(ECC) to guarantee the data integrity and accuracy. We proposed the pre-check scheme which is a multi-strategy polar code scheme to strike a balance between reasonable frame error rate(FER) and decoding latency. Three decoders namely binaryinput, quantized-soft, and pure-soft decoders are embedded in this scheme. Since the calculation of soft loglikelihood ratio(LLR) inputs needs multiple sensing operations and optional quantization boundaries, a 2-bit quantized hard-decision decoder is proposed to outperform the hard-decoded LDPC bit-flipping decoder with fewer sensing operations. We notice that polar codes have much lower computational complexity compared with LDPC codes. The stepwise maximum mutual information(SMMI) scheme is also proposed to obtain overlapped boundaries without exhausting search. The mapping scheme using Gray code is employed and proved to achieve better raw error performance compared with other alternatives. Hardware architectures are also given in this paper.

BACKGROUND Myocardial bridging is a common anatomical malformation,and the milking effect is a characteristic phenomenon of myocardial bridging in coronary ***,the phenomenon is ***,this article reports an inconceivably rare myocardial bridging phenomenon that breaks through our conventional *** milking effect changed obviously in two coronary angiography examinations,which subverted the traditional deep-rooted view of the myocardial bridging phenomenon and revealed the limitations of coronary angiography in diagnosing myocardial bridging and judging the prognosis of *** SUMMARY A 63-year-old man was diagnosed with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and received primary percutaneous coronary intervention on December 26,*** heart rate was 104 beats per minute,and blood pressure was 15.3/10.3 kPa.A severe milking effect was found in the left anterior descending coronary artery during his index coronary angiography on January 14,*** patient was given intensive medical management,including aβ1-adrenergic receptor blocker,during hospitalization and after ***,coronary angiography showed that the previous impressive milking effect was dramatically alleviated(close to normal)at the follow-up on October 13,*** that moment,the patient’s heart rate was 83 beats per minute,and blood pressure was 12.7/8.0 *** The myocardial bridging phenomenon is not invariable and,in certain circumstances,may ***,the autonomic nervous system may be involved in the myocardial bridging phenomenon.

为了解不同盐碱退化状态下土壤理化性质和土壤离子的变化,本研究以松嫩温性草甸草地为研究对象,比较了未退化、轻度、中度和重度盐碱退化草地下土壤离子和土壤理化性质,分析盐碱退化过程中土壤理化性质、离子变化规律及其相互关系。结果表明:土壤K^(+)、Na^(+)、Mg^(2^+)、Ca ^(2+)、Cl^(-)、HCO_(3)^(-)、SO_(4)^(2-)、CO_(3)^( 2-)随盐碱程度加重显著增加,阳离子交换量显著下降(P<0.05)。随着盐碱程度变化,土壤电导率、pH、全钾显著增加,土壤全氮、碱解氮显著下降(P<0.05)。与未退化土壤相比,轻度和中度盐碱草地土壤含水量显著上升(P<0.05),速效磷含量显著降低(P<0.05);重度退化盐碱草地速效磷含量显著上升(P<0.05)。土壤TN、AN、AP、K^(+)与盐碱化程度之间存在显著的相关性。未退化草地土壤AN、TN含量较高,而重度退化草地AP、K^(+)含量较高。本研究为松嫩盐碱退化草地修复措施的合理选择提供依据。

Ionospheric inversion of the Venus Express radio occultation data observed by Shanghai 25m and New Norcia 35m antennas

Electron density profiles of Venus＇ ionosphere are inverted from the Venus Express （VEX） one-way open-loop radio occultation experiments carried out by the Shanghai 25 m antenna from November 2011 to January 2012 at solar maximum conditions and by the New Norcia 35 m antenna from August 2006 to June 2008 at solar intermediate conditions. The electron density profile （from 110 km to 400 km）, retrieved from the X-band egress observation at the Shanghai station, shows a single peak near 147 km with a peak density of about 2 × 10^4 cm-3 at a solar zenith angle of 94° As a comparison, the VEX radio science （VeRa） observations at the New Norcia station were also examined, including S- and X-band and dual-frequency data in the ingress mode. The results show that the electron density profiles retrieved from the S-band data are more analogous to the dual-frequency data in terms of the profile shape, compared with the X-band data. Generally, the S-band results slightly underestimate the magnitude of the peak density, while the X-band results overestimate it. The discrepancy in the X-band profile is probably due to the relatively larger unmod- eled orbital errors. It is also expected that the ionopause height is sensitive to the solar wind dynamical pressure in high and intermediate solar activities, usually in the range of 200-1000 km on the dayside and much higher on the nightside. Structural variations （＂bulges＂ and fluctuations） can be found in the electron density profiles during intermediate solar activity, which may be caused by the interaction of the solar wind with the ionosphere. Considerable ionizations can be observed in Venus＇ nightside ionosphere, which are unexpected for the Martian nightside ionosphere in most cases.

Numerical simulation of humping phenomenon in high speed gas metal arc welding

It is of great significance to obtain a thorough understanding of the physical mechanisms responsible for humping bead phenomenon in high speed gas metal arc welding （GMAW） in order to raise welding efficiency. Experiments were conducted to observe the weld pool behaviors in high speed GMAW, and it was found that both the severely deformed weld pool surface and strong backward flowing play a dominant role in humping bead formation. In this study, a mathematical model is developed to quantitatively analyze the forming mechanism of humping beads for high speed GMAW through considering both the momentum and heat content distribution of the backward flowing molten metal inside the weld pool. The transient development of temperature profiles in the weld pool with severe deformation demonstrates the humping bead forming process under some welding conditions. The predicted and measured humping bead dimensions are in agreement.

研究阿里山潜蝇茧蜂线粒体全基因组密码子的使用偏好性,探讨其偏好性形成的主要因素,为掌握该寄生蜂线粒体基因组的特性和进化方向提供理论依据.提取阿里山潜蝇茧蜂线粒体全基因组中的13个蛋白质基因序列,通过CondonW、CAIcal软件分析蛋白编码基因密码子各位点的GC百分比及有效密码子数(ENC);利用MEGA 11软件计算同义密码子使用频率,并利用中性绘图和ENC绘图揭示密码子使用偏好性形成的原因.结果表明,13条蛋白质基因序列的GC_(1)、GC_(2)和GC_(3)百分比平均值分别为20.65%、22.42%和6.42%,GC总百分比平均值为16.50%.由此可见,阿里山潜蝇茧蜂线粒体基因组蛋白质编码序列的AU百分比远大于GC百分比,且该寄生蜂线粒体基因组偏好使用第3位为A/U的密码子.综合高频与高表达密码子,共选出13个最优密码子,皆以A/U结尾,分别是UUU、UUA、AUU、GUA、UCU、AGA、CCA、ACU、GCU、GCA、AAA、CGA、GGA;ENC平均值为29.50,且中性绘图分析表明,密码子GC_(12)百分比与GC_(3)百分比相关性不显著(P=0.665),表明阿里山潜蝇茧蜂线粒体全基因组密码子偏好性形成主要受自然选择的影响.

A Novel Three-Staged Generative Model for Skeletonizing Chinese Characters with Versatile Styles

Skeletons of characters provide vital information to support a variety of tasks,e.g.,optical character recogni-tion,image restoration,stroke segmentation and extraction,and style learning and ***,automatically skele-tonizing Chinese characters poses a steep computational challenge due to the large volume of Chinese characters and their versatile styles,for which traditional image analysis approaches are error-prone and *** deep learning based approach requires a heavy amount of manual labeling efforts,which imposes serious limitations on the precision,robust-ness,scalability and generalizability of an algorithm to solve a specific *** tackle the above challenge,this paper introduces a novel three-staged deep generative model developed as an image-to-image translation approach,which signifi-cantly reduces the model's demand for labeled training *** new model is built upon an improved G-net,an en-hanced X-net,and a newly proposed *** compellingly demonstrated by comprehensive experimental results,the new model is able to iteratively extract skeletons of Chinese characters in versatile styles with a high quality,which noticeably outperforms two state-of-the-art peer deep learning methods and a classical thinning algorithm in terms of F-measure,Hausdorff distance,and average Hausdorff distance.
