Vγ9Vδ2 T cells are promising candidates for cellular tumor *** to their hLA-independent mode of action,allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells can be considered for clinical *** apply allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in adoptive immunotherapy,the methodology used to obtain adequate cell numbers with optimal effector function in vitro needs to be optimized,and clinical safety and efficacy also need to be ***,we developed a novel formula to improve the expansion of peripheralγδT cells from healthy ***,we used a humanized mouse model to validate the therapeutic efficacy of expandedγδT cells in vivo;furthermore,the expandedγδT cells were adoptively transferred into late-stage liver and lung cancer *** found that the expanded cells possessed significantly improved immune effector functions,including proliferation,differentiation,and cancer cell killing,both in vitro and in the humanized mouse ***,a phase I clinical trial in 132 late-stage cancer patients with a total of 414 cell infusions unequivocally validated the clinical safety of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T *** these 132 patients,8 liver cancer patients and 10 lung cancer patients who received≥5 cell infusions showed greatly prolonged survival,which preliminarily verified the efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell *** clinical studies underscore the safety and efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy,which will inspire further clinical investigations and eventually benefit cancer patients.

An economical and environmental sustainability of bioplastic production is dependent on the use of low cost and waste C-sources as raw materials. OMW （Olive Mill Wastewater） with its high organic load represents a dangerous polluting waste. herein the authors present an integrated process for the simultaneous recovery of polyphenols, high value natural antioxidants, production of PhAs （polyhydroxyalkanotes）, thermoplastic bio-polymers, in particular of PhB （poly-3-hydroxybutyrate） starting from OMW. The combination of membrane filtration and bacterial digestion of OMW resulted in very high yields of polyphenols （3 2.5 g/L） and PhB （31.4 mg/L.h） if compared with the state of the art. These results make the technical approach described here effective for reducing the polluting effect of OMW and maximizing the valuable product yield. Moreover the process is readily suitable for an industrial scale PhB production from OMW.

Does Dust from Arctic Mines Affect Caribou Forage?

This study explores how dust from the Ekati Diamond Mine potentially affects the availability and quality of forage on the seasonal range of the Bathurst caribou herd. Understanding the effects of dust as a source of disturbance is important because the Bathurst caribou population has declined by 93% since the middle 1980s and there are reports that caribou in general may avoid mining projects. There are several challenges for quantifying dust impacts: 1) Natural variations (e.g., topography, natural disturbance, and soil ph) may also impact forage availability and quality for caribou. To minimize their masking effect, we stratified survey sites into seven land cover classes and selected the most populous class (i.e., the dwarf shrub) for assessing the impact. 2) Within class variation (e.g., the proportion of area covered by rocks where vascular plants and lichen do not grow) can further skew the analysis. We eliminated this problem by examining only the area not covered by rocks. 3) Coarse and fine suspended particulates have different spatial coverages, chemical compositions, and ph values. Consequently, their impacts on caribou forage can be different. To distinguish their impacts, we sampled two areas: transects from the Misery haul Road that has been in active use vs. those from a rarely used spur road outside the Misery Camp. We sampled percent vegetation cover, soil ph, and dust on leaves along these transects during the summers of 2015 and 2016. Our results indicated that the amount of dust on leaves in a zone of ~1000 m from the Misery haul Road was 3 - 9 times than that of background sites. The zone of reduced lichen percent cover was also about 1000 m. In contrast, these road dust-induced changes in caribou forage were not observed for the dust-free transect from the spur road.

This study evaluates the performance of shale from Ivory Coast used as substrate in vertical-flow constructed wetlands in removal of phosphates and nitrogen. The pilot-scale artificial wetland has been duplicated: filter planted with Panicum maximun and unplanted. They were set up outdoors, and fed with a municipal wastewater. The wetlands have been fed with three batches per week (intermittent) over a period of 3 months. During the operation period, the hydraulic residence time (hRT) 52 h was used, while wastewater temperatures varied from about ~33°C. The removal performance of the constructed wetland units was very good, since it reached on an average 98%, 89.4%, 89.4%, 84%, 80%, 84.8% and 92% for TSS, DOC, BOD5, , TKN, TP and respectively. In addition, the vegetation did not demonstrate superior performance to unplanted controls. Therefore, this study focuses on the role of shale in the phosphorus and nitrogen removal from wastewater by constructed wetland.

Regeneration Potential of Woody Species at the Side of Secondary Roads Post-Logging of Loundoungou-Toukoulaka Forest Management Unit, Republic of the Congo

Natural regeneration is the basis of a dynamic and demographic balance of plant populations. The objective of this study was to assess the natural regeneration potential of woody species along secondary roads post-logging abandoned since 2008 and 2018. In the two Annual Allowable Cuts (AAC 2008 and AAC 2018), 24 regenerating sub-plots (i.e. 12 sub-plots for AAC 2008 and 12 sub-plots for AAC 2018) with a unit area of 5 m × 5 m were delimited with a total area of 0.06 ha (i.e. 0.03 ha for each AAC). The abundance and diversity of woody species were respectively inventoried and estimated. Two estimators of the specific richness were used to estimate the floristic diversity of each Annual Allowable Cuts (AAC). The results reveal globally 88 woody species in the AAC 2008 and 241 woody species in the AAC 2018, with respective average densities of 2933 stem/ha and 8033 stem/ha. There was a very highly significant difference between the mean densities of the two AAC (Kruskal-Wallis test;h = 2.36, p-value he results also highlight a great diversity and a relatively high abundance of woody species in the 2018 AAC compared to the 2008 AAC. Also, the spatial structuring of the sub-plots on the basis of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) demonstrates that the floristic composition of the two AAC is globally different. The study suggests silvicultural interventions and the long-term assessment of regenerating woody species along abandoned secondary roads in order to guarantee the sustainable management of their population.

【目的】寻找一种有效转送治疗基因到扩张冠状动脉的靶部位的运载工具,用于预防冠状动脉损伤后再狭窄。【方法】治疗组用高分子聚合物phosphorylocholine(PC)包裹不锈钢丝的包裹支架,对照组用非包裹支架。①体外研究:经用复制缺陷的重组腺病毒β-Gal(1x109pfu/ml)处理后,将支架植入刚获得的新鲜猪冠状动脉内,植入了支架的冠状动脉分别用一种液体冲洗,共分成5组,每组5例,1组无冲洗、2组生理盐水、3组造影剂、4组血液、5组培养液。对照组用生理盐水冲洗。然后培养48h后固定,X-Gal染色,进行组织学分析。②在体研究:支架经用复制缺陷的重组腺病毒RvdTIMP3处理后,植入猪的冠状动脉,7d后处死猪,取血标本作血液学检验。心脏、脑、肺、肝、脾组织、部分冠状动脉靶部位置入液氮保存,作PCR分析。【结果】①体外包裹支架传移率分别为:无冲洗组6.9%±3.7%,生理盐水组6.6%±3.6%,培养液组7.2%±2.5%,造影剂组7.4%±1.9%,血液组16.2%±9.3%。对照组1.9%±0.5%,与生理盐水冲洗的治疗组比较差异有显著性,P=0.025。②仅治疗组在治疗部位的冠状动脉及远端血管组织中有TIMP3出现,其他器官组织中均未发现有TIMP3。【结论】经PC包裹的支架可有效地输送含有治疗基因的腺病毒到冠状动脉靶部位,液体的冲洗对传移率无明显影响,这?
