Copper production is an essential component of the Chilean economy. During the extraction process of copper, large quantities of waste materials（tailings） are produced, which are typically stored in large tailing ponds. Thickened Tailings Disposal（TTD） is an alternative to conventional tailings ponds. In TTD, a considerable amount of water is extracted from the tailings before their deposition. Once a thickened tailings layer is deposited, it loses water and it shrinks, forming a relatively regular structure of tailings blocks with vertical cracks in between, which are then filled up with ＂fresh＂ tailings once the new upper layer is deposited. The dynamic response of a representative column of this complex structure made out of tailings blocks with softer material in between was analyzed using a periodic half-space finite element model. The tailings＇ behavior was modeled using an elasto-plastic multi-yielding constitutive model, and Chilean earthquake records were used for the seismic analyses. special attention was given to the liquefaction potential evaluation of TTD.

In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature. Developed by an international Consortium led by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of science, the eXTP mission is expected to be launched in the mid 2020s.

UML 2.X sequence diagrams(sD)are among privileged scenarios-based approaches dealing with the complexity of modeling the behaviors of some current ***,there are several issues related to the standard semantics of UML 2.X sD proposed by the Object Management Group(OMG).They mainly concern ambiguities of the interpretation of sDs,and the computation of causal relations between events which is not specifically laid ***,sD is a semi-formal language,and it does not support the verification of the modeled *** justifies the considerable number of research studies intending to define formal semantics of UML *** proposed in our previous work semantics covering the most popular combined fragments(CF)of control-flow ALT,OPT,LOOP and sEQ,allowing to model alternative,optional,iterative and sequential behaviors *** proposed semantics is based on partial order theory relations that permit the computation of the precedence relations between the events of an sD with nested *** also addressed the issue of the evaluation of the interaction constraint(guard)for guarded CFs,and the related synchronization *** this paper,we first extend our semantics,proposed in our previous work;indeed,we propose new rules for the computation of causal relations for sD with PAR and sTRICT CFs(dedicated to modeling concurrent and strict behaviors respectively)as well as their ***,we propose a transformational semantics in *** modeling approach emphasizes computation of causal relations,guard handling and transformational semantics into *** transformation of UML 2.X sD into the formal method Event-B allows us to perform several kinds of verification including simulation,trace acceptance,verification of properties,and verification of refinement relation between sDs.

We investigate masses of light mesons from a coupled system of Dyson–schwinger （DsE） and Bethe– salpeter equations （BsE）,taking into account dominant non-Abelian,sub-leading Abelian,and dominant pion cloud contributions to the dressed quark-gluon *** axial-vector Ward-Takahashi identity preserving Bethe-salpeter kernel is constructed and the spectrum of light mesons *** model goes significantly beyond the *** find that sub-leading Abelian corrections are further dynamically suppressed,and that our results supersede early qualitative predictions from simple truncation schemes.

Discrete dislocation plasticity(DDP)calculations are carried out to investigate the response of a single crystal contacted by a rigid sinusoidal asperity under sliding loading conditions to look for causes of microstructure change in the dislocation *** mechanistic driver is identified as the development of lattice rotations and stored energy in the subsurface,which can be quantitatively correlated to recent tribological experimental *** of surface slip initiation and substrate permanent deformation obtained from DDP calculations for varying contact size and normal load suggest ways of optimally tailoring the interface and microstructural material properties for various frictional loads.

The Bafoussam-Mamfe Region(BMR)belongs to the Western Cameroon Highland margin,an amalgam of transient landscape that evolved from the interactions between tectonics,lithology and climate *** area is tectonically active and shows differential tectonic uplift,contrasting relief,variations in erosion rates,in river incision,and in channel *** order to appraise the BMR tectono-geomorphic evolution,it is essential to understand relationships between internal and external processes and their geomorphic expression at a river basin *** this purpose,we use drainage texture(Dt),stream frequency(Fs),drainage density(Dd),asymmetry factor(AF),the transverse topographic symmetry factor(TTsF),the mean of mountain front sinuosity per unit(smf),concavity factor(Cf),hypsometry integral(HI)and streamlength gradient index(sL-index)based on 30 m Digital Elevation Models(DEM)and field *** results reveal considerable variations in geology,relief,topography and geomorphic indices values differentiated into three geomorphic units;the Mamfe unit developed on the Mamfe Cretaceous basin,the Nguti and Bafoussam high plateau units build up on the Precambrian granito-gneissic basement overlaid by a volcanic *** stepped(longitudinal and normalized)river profiles and complex hypsometric curves show the lithostructural control of the hydrographic ***(from~1.21 to~4.59),Fs(from~0.26 to~1.91),Dd(from~0.66 to~1.71)geomorphic indice values indicate a part of lithologic control on this morphology while the AF(from~1.16to~24.91),TTsF(from~0.20 to~0.71),smf(U2=1.11 and U3=1.19),Cf(from~-20.91 to~78.93),HI(from~0.12 to~0.52)and sL-index designate the active tectonics as the main factor that had controlled the morphology of this same *** results pinpoint the combined post-Pan-African to Recent tectonic features,lithologic heterogeneities and the differential erosion processes as main factors that have controlled the BMR *** results highlight how

The schrodinger equation of the schwarzschild black hole(BH) has been recently derived by the author and collaborators. The BH is composed of a particle, the 'electron', interacting with a central field, the 'nucleus'. Via de Broglie's hypothesis, one interprets the 'electron' in terms of BH horizon's modes. Quantum gravity effects modify the BH semi-classical structure at the schwarzschild scale rather than at the Planck scale. The analogy between this BH schrodinger equation and the schrodinger equation of the s states of the hydrogen atom permits us to solve the same equation. The quantum gravitational quantities analogous of the fine structure constant and of the Rydberg constant are not constants, but the dynamical quantities have well-defined discrete spectra. The spectrum of the 'gravitational fine structure constant' is the set of non-zero natural numbers. Therefore, BHs are well-defined quantum gravitational systems obeying schrodinger's theory: the 'gravitational hydrogen atoms'. By identifying the potential energy in the BH schrodinger equation as being the gravitational energy of a spherically symmetric shell, a different nature of the quantum BH seems to surface. BHs are self-interacting, highly excited,spherically symmetric, massive quantum shells generated by matter condensing on the apparent horizon, concretely realizing the membrane paradigm. The quantum BH described as a'gravitational hydrogen atom' is a fictitious mathematical representation of the real, quantum BH, a quantum massive shell having a radius equal to the oscillating gravitational *** consequences emerge from this result:(i) BHs have neither horizons nor singularities;(ii) there is neither information loss in BH evaporation, nor BH complementarity, nor firewall paradox.
