Structural stability of single-layered LaNi_4.25Al_0.75 film and its electro-chemical hydrogen-storage properties

AB5-based hydrogen storage thin fdms （LaNi4.25Al0.75）, deposited on Cu substrate by dc magnetron sputtering were investigated in this study. X-ray diffraction （XRD） revealed that the microstructure of the layer was in crystal form. SEM and AFM analyses proved that the film appeared to be rather rough with numerous randomly sized pores of approximately 15-40 in nm diameter. Structural stability of the film was examined by the combined analyses of DSC, XRD, and SEM, which indicated that this film maintained its structural stability below 500 K or so, and a network structure was observed on the film after being heated at 700 K for 30 min. Electrochemical hydrogen-storage properties of the films were investigated by simulated battery tests. It was found that single-layered LaNi4.25A10.75 film exhibited electrochemical hydrogen-storage properties similar to typical AB5 alloys in bulk, and the maximum discharge capacity of the film was about 220 mAh/g. After 20 charge/discharge cycles, small needle-shaped aluminium oxide was formed on some fractions of the film surface.

Recent studies indicated that vitamin A(VA)might be involved in the pathology of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).This cross-sectional study was conducted to explore the association between circulating VA level and T2DM.A total of 1818 subjects aged 50 years old and above were recruited from the *** logistic regression and restricted cubic spline(RCS)were applied to analyze the association of plasma VA level with the risk of *** VA and lipid-adjusted VA levels of T2DM patients were significantly higher than that of non-T2DM subjects(Plipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-c)and VA/low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-c)were positively associated with the risk of T2DM in the aging population(Plipids and VA might affect the relationship between VA and *** middle and aging subjects with higher ratios of plasma VA/TC,VA/HDL-c,and VA/LDL-c displayed increased risk for T2DM,but the moderate ratio of VA/TG might protect against risk of T2DM.

Federated learning has emerged as a distributed learning paradigm by training at each client and aggregat-ing at a parameter *** heterogeneity hinders stragglers from responding to the server in time with huge com-munication *** client grouping in federated learning can solve the straggler problem,the stochastic selection strategy in client grouping neglects the impact of data distribution within each ***,current client grouping ap-proaches make clients suffer unfair participation,leading to biased performances for different *** order to guaran-tee the fairness of client participation and mitigate biased local performances,we propose a federated dynamic client selec-tion method based on data representativity(FedSDR).FedSDR clusters clients into groups correlated with their own lo-cal computational *** estimate the significance of client datasets,we design a novel data representativity evalua-tion scheme based on local data ***,the two most representative clients in each group are selected to optimize the global ***,the DYNAMIC-SELECT algorithm updates local computational efficiency and data representativity states to regroup clients after periodic average *** on real datasets show that FedS-DR improves client participation by 27.4%,37.9%,and 23.3%compared with FedAvg,TiFL,and FedSS,respectively,tak-ing fairness into account in federated *** addition,FedSDR surpasses FedAvg,FedGS,and FedMS by 21.32%,20.4%,and 6.90%,respectively,in local test accuracy variance,balancing the performance bias of the global model across clients.

Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)have been implicated in cancer progression and drug resistance ***,there is evidence that lncRNA HOX transcript antisense intergenic RNA(HOTAIR)is involved in colorectal cancer(CRC)*** present study aimed to examine the functional role of lncRNA HOTAIR in conferring radiotherapy resistance in CRC cells,as well as the underlying *** relative expression levels of HOTAIR were examined in 70 pairs of CRC tumor and para-cancerous tissues,as well as in radiosensitive and radioresistant *** correlations between HOTAIR expression levels and clinical features of patients with CRC were assessed using the chi-square *** assays such as cell proliferation,colony formation and apoptosis assays were conducted to determine the radiosensitivity in CRC cells with HOTAIR silencing after treatment with different doses of *** pull-down assay andﬂuorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)were used to determine the interaction between HOTAIR and DNA damage response mediator ataxia-telangiectasia mutated-and Rad3-related(ATR).HOTAIR was signiﬁcantly upregulated in CRC tumor tissues,especially in radioresistant tumor *** elevated expression of HOTAIR was correlated with more advanced histological grades,distance metastasis and the poor prognosis in patients with *** HOTAIR suppressed the proliferation and promoted apoptosis and radiosensitivity in CRC *** knockdown also inhibited the tumorigenesis of CRC cells and enhanced the sensitivity to radiotherapy in a mouse xenograft ***,the data showed that HOTAIR could interact with ATR to regulate the DNA damage repair signaling *** HOTAIR impaired the ATR-ATR interacting protein(ATRIP)complex and signaling in cell cycle ***,the present results indicate that lncRNA HOTAIR facilitates the DNA damage response pathway and promotes radioresistance in CRC cells by targeting ATR.

Imide-based conjugated molecules have emerged as a highly promising class of building blocks for constructing n-type semiconducting materials with lowlying lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals and exceptional *** imides,such as naphthalene diimides,perylene diimides and their lateral fused analogs,have been synthesized extensively,the design and synthesis of largerπ-extended molecules incorporating more than two imide groups are desirable but still very ***,we report the synthesis of an unprecedented electron-deficient bisanthene tetraimide(ATI)containing a bisantheneconjugated core and four five-membered imide groups,which was successfully achieved via a combined approach of solution and on-surface *** chemical structures,electronic states,formation mechanism and aromaticity of ATI were systematically investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy,noncontact atomic force microscopy,scanning tunneling spectroscopy,and density functional theory calculations.
