Context: Despite the new recommendations “Test and Treat”, the virological and molecular parameters remain important information for Antiretroviral Treatment and adequate for monitoring of patients infected with HIV/AIDS. Objective: the Objective of this study is to present the virological and molecular profile of People living with HIV starting Antiretroviral Therapy in Kinshasa in the era of the Dolutegravir. Methods: This was a transversal study to determine virological and molecular profile of People living with HIV (PlHIV) starting an ARV Treatment. The patient’s inclusion period was from October 04, 2021 to February 15, 2022. A sample of 5 ml of blood was taken in a tube with EDTA anticoagulant for Molecular Biology analyzes (Viral load and Sequencing) in all HIV patients, after reading and signing informed consent. The population was made up of adult patients over the age of 18, infected with HIV and starting ART. Results: 119 patients (56.3% of women) were included in this study, thus a sex-ratio of 1.29. The average age of patients included was 39.87 ± 12.36 years. The most represented age group is that of 36 to 45 with 37 patients (31.9%) followed by that from 26 to 35 years with 24 patients (20.7%). Out of 119 patients, 21 patients had an undetectable Viral load (Vl). The median value of Vl was 4.16 log10 RNA copies/ml. 114 samples were successfully amplified. Subtype A was dominant with 23 cases (20.2%);followed by the subtype C and CRF02_AG each with 14.0%, and D (10.5 %). K65R (1.8%), T69P/N (4.4%), K70R (7.9%) and M184V (7.0%) mutations were listed as existing mutations for Nucleotide Transcriptase Inhibitors. Conclusion: 38 patients (31.93%) started the TARV with a positive virological prognosis. The subtype A remains dominant in Kinshasa with 23 cases (20.2%);followed by the subtype C and CRF02_AG each with 14.0%. A new flavonoid, acacetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-β-D-glucuronopyranoside (1), together with four known flavonoids, apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-β-D-glucuronopyranoside (2), acacetin (3), acacetin-7-O-β-D-glucuronide (4) and genkwanin-5-O-primveroside (5) were isolated from the leaves of Glyphaea brevis. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic techniques. The isolated compounds (1 - 5) were tested for their antioxidant activity using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. The tested compounds showed slight negative antioxidant activities against DPPH radicals.

Uveal melanoma is the most common intraocular cancer in the adult eye.R183 and Q209 were found to be mutational hotspots in exon 4 and exon 5 of GNAQ and GNA11 in ***,only a few studies have reported somaticmutations in GNAQ or GNA11 in uveal melanoma in *** extracted somatic DNA from paraffin-embedded biopsies of 63 Chinese uveal melanoma samples and sequenced the entire coding regions of exons 4 and 5 in GNAQ and *** results showed that 33%of Chinese uveal melanoma samples carried Q209 mutations while none had R183 mutation in GNAQ or *** addition,seven novel missense somatic mutations in GNAQ(Y192C,F194l,P170S,D236N,l232F,V230A,and M227I)and four novel missense somatic mutations in GNA11(R166C,I200T,S225F,and V206M)were found in our *** high mutation frequency of Q209 and the novel missense mutations detected in this study suggest that GNAQ and GNA11 are common targets for somatic mutations in Chinese uveal melanoma.

Background: Perinatal asphyxia is a common cause of mortality and of morbidity including motor and neurodevelopmental abnormalities. The aim of this study was to evaluate the post-hospital outcome of neonates treated for perinatal asphyxia at the Douala Gynaeco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital (DGOPH) in Cameroon. Patients and Methods: We conducted a hospital-based cross-sectional study with both a retrospective and prospective data collection, conducted over a period of 3 months and involving neonates above 34 weeks of gestational age who were managed for perinatal asphyxia at DGOPH from August 2015 to February 2020. Socio-demographic, perinatal, motor, nutritional and neuro-developmental out-of-hospital data were recorded. The assessment of the child’s psychomotor development was evaluated through gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language and social contact. We calculated the development quotient (DQ) by dividing the developmental age (DA) by the actual age (RA) of the patient. The data were entered and analyzed using excel and Stata version 15 software. Results: Among the 58 newborns included in our study, males were the most represented (59%). The mean age was 36.5 ± 14.16 months (Extremes: 12 months and 66 months). The majority of patients were born at term (79%), had a birth weight between 2500 and 4000 grams (69%), were resuscitated (95%), and had an Apgar score th minute of life (67%). SARNAT stages II and III counted for 48%. Neurodevelopmental abnormalities were found in 25.5% of patients with gross motor delay (mainly tetraparesis) representing 23.5%, fine motor delay 27.5%, impairment in social contact 31% language speech delay. The majority of the children had a normal development quotient (78.4%). Conclusion: The short-term and long-term outcome of newborns who experienced perinatal asphyxia in our setting is marked by numerous impairments in developmental milestones leading to disability.

Bambara groundnut [Vigna subterranea (l.) Verdc.], as a legume, can establish relationships with nitrogen-fixing bacteria such as Rhizobium. However, Rhizobium efficacy is not always optimal due to the lack or poor efficient strains in the soil. This study aimed to evaluate symbiotic efficiency of endogenous Rhizobia nodulating Bambara groundnut and their resistance to abiotic conditions. Root nodules were randomly sampled from three agroecological zones across the country, surface sterilized, ground and paste plated on YEMA media. After 24 hours, the bacterial colonies were purified. The pure cultures were further characterized using morphological and biochemical methods and their resistance to antibiotics and heavy metals was evaluated. lastly, the symbiotic efficiency of the isolates was assessed through a greenhouse experiment. A total of eighty-five presumptive strains were isolated from Bambara groundnut roots nodules obtained from the farms. The physiological characterization of the isolated showed a decrease in isolates growth when NaCl concentration was more than 7%. In addition, 47% of the isolates were tolerant to a temperature of 40°C. Most of the isolates were highly resistant to Erythromycin in all its concentration levels and to Kanamycin, Spectinomycin, Neomycin and Ampicillin at 10 μg⋅ml−1. Most of them showed resistance to Cu and Zn at 10 μg⋅ml−1. Results of the effectiveness test on two Bambara groundnut varieties yielded dry shoot matter varying from 3.33 g⋅plant−1 to 7.21 g⋅plant−1 for variety 1 and from 4.38 g⋅plant−1 to 8.38 g⋅plant−1 on variety 2. N uptake ranged between 0.09 g⋅plant−1 and 0.29 g⋅plant−1 for variety 1 and between 0.12 and 0.29 g⋅plant−1 for variety 2.
