Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation(MALDI) mass spectra in matrices DHBs and ferulic acid have been taken and used to determine the molecular weight of one of the variants of human hemoglobin. A single laser operating at 355 nm was used to irradiate the sample droplet spots on a target for both desorption and ionisation. Ions were analyzed and detected by a reflectron time-of-flight mass spectrometer system. The mass values of α-chain and β-chain without heme group for a kind of human hemoglobin molecules were determined, which are 15275 Da and 16060Da respectively, with the accuracy of 0. 03%. The various factors influencing the resolution of mass spectrum were discussed.

The choice of parameters in Morse potential for copper was made by the molecular dynamics modeling. The elastic coefficients C-11, C-44, their temperature coefficients T-C11, T-C44, well as the hydrostatic compression behaviour, i.e. pressure/volume curves have been calculated. The choice of Morse potential parameters can be made by comparing the results with the experimental data. The chosen parameters are greatly different for different simulated properties.

The object of this paper is to establish the relation between stability and convergence of the numerical methods for the evolution equation u(t) - Au - f(u) = g(t) on Banach space V, and to prove the long-time error estimates for the approximation solutions. At first, we give the definition of long-time stability, and then prove the fact that stability and compatibility imply the uniform convergence on the infinite time region. Thus, we establish a general frame in order to prove the long-time convergence. This frame includes finite element methods and finite difference methods of the evolution equations, especially the semilinear parabolic and hyperbolic partial differential equations. As applications of these results we prove the estimates obtained by Larsson [5] and Sanz-serna and Stuart [6].

By means of four different kinds of two-center expansions of the free-space Green function, the generalized scattered-wave molecular-orbital theory proposed by Johnson is resolved to approach the overlapping atomic-sphere MSW-X_α method. The improved result for the overlapping atomic-sphere is obtained to keep the computational advantages of the well-known nonoverlapping atomlc-sphere model without involving multicenter molecular integrals.

We establish the existence of continuous solutions of the first boundary value prob- lem for nonlinar diffusion equations of the form θu/ t=div(α（u）|▽u|m-1▽u)+ （u）▽u, under the conditions that A（s）=integral from n=o to s(a1/m（σ）dσis strictly increasing and m>n-1,where n is the space ***,the uniqueness is proved for solutions with some regularities.
