Cubic Mn_(2)Ru_(x)Ga Heusler compound is a typical example of compensated ferrimagnet with attractive potential for high-density,ultrafast,and low-power spintronic *** the form of epitaxial thin films,Mn_(2)Ru_(x)Ga exhibits high spin polarization and high tunability of compensation temperature by freely changing the Ru content x in a broad range(0.3ycrystalline bulk buttons prepared by arc melting are systematically studied and it is found that in equilibrium bulk form,the cubic structure is unstable when xyed with a fourth element *** adjusting the content of V in the By adjusting the content of V in the Mn_(2)Ru_(0.75)V_(y)Ga and Mn_(2.25-y)Ru_(0.75)V_(y)Ga quaternary systems the magnetic compensation temperature is *** is achieved near 300 K which is confirmed by both the magnetic measurement and anomalous Hall effect *** analyses of the anomalous Hall effect scaling in quaternary Mn-Ru-V-Ga alloy reveal the dominant role of skew scattering,notably that contributed caused by the thermally excited phonons,in contrast to the dominant intrinsic mechanism found in many other 3d ferromagnets and Heusler *** is further shown that the Ga antisites and V content can simultaneously control the residual resistivity ratio(RRR)as well as the relative contribution of phonon and defect to the anomalous Hall effect a"/a0'in Mn-Ru-V-Ga,resulting in a scaling relation a"/a0'∝RRR^(1.8).

The electron stimulated desorption was used to measure the surface diffusivity of atomic deuterium on clean and boron modified Ni 3(Al, Ti)(110) surfaces. Boron dosing was performed using a solid state boron ion source. Earlier studies showed that boron dissociates water readily at temperatures as low as 130?K and that the resulting atomic hydrogen is bound to the surface strongly. The surface diffusion coefficient of atomic D on 0.05 monolayer boron modified surface was measured to be about 10 times smaller than that on the clean surface. This slower diffusion of atomic hydrogen may explain why boron improves the ductility of polycrystalline Ni 3Al in moist environments.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the anti-embolic effect of Taorenchengqi Tang(TRCQT), a formulas from Traditional Chinese Medicine, plus aspirin in rats with embolic stroke induced by selective occlusion of the middle cerebral artery(MCA). Possible side effects of hemorrhagic incident and other bleeding events and anti-platelet effect were also ***: Ninety rats were randomly separatedinto 9 groups(n = 10): group 1 a sham-operated group(n = 10); groups 2 and 3 orally treated with an isovolumetric solvent(distilled water) for 1 and3 months, followed by thromboembolic occlusion(n = 10); groups 4 and 5 orally treated with aspirin(5 mg/kg) alone for 1 and 3 months, followed by thromboembolic occlusion(n = 10); groups 6 and 7orally treated with TRCQT(0.5 g/kg) alone for 1 and3 months, followed by thromboembolic occlusion(n = 10); groups 8 and 9 orally treated with TRCQT plus aspirin for 1 and 3 months, respectively followed by thromboembolic occlusion(n = 10). The ischemic stroke in rats was induced by selective MCA occlusion. One was orally administered. After the treatments, rats' brains were removed, sectioned and stained with triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) for infarct volume measurement. The incidence of subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH) and intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) were observed. A potential gastric bleeding side effect was assessed by measuring hemoglobin(Hb), and prothrombin time(PT). Coronary vasospasm of the left main coronary artery （LMCA） is a rare condition with potentially devastating consequences. We present 2 patients with LMCA vasospasm-related angina, the first being a 46-year-old woman and the second a 51-year-old woman. Both of them developed ST-segment ischemic changes on treadmill exercise tests. Coronary angiography showed spontaneous LMCA vasospasm in one patient and methylergonovine-induced LMCA vasospasm in the other patient. Follow-up treadmill exercise tests revealed no exercise-induced ischemia after calcium antagonist monotherapy. These cases demonstrate the importance of identifying LMCA vasospasm, as the treatment of choice varies in patients with angina pectoris. Reversible myocardial ischemia caused by LMCA vasospastic angina can be controlled by calcium antagonist monotherapy and detected by repeat non-invasive stress testing.

Landscape structure and bird's diversity in the rural areas of Taiwan

This study tries to discuss the relationship between landscape structure and organisms in the perspective of landscape architecture. The research hypotheses were then proposed as (1) there are relationships between landscape structure indexes and birds' diversity in the rural areas of Taiwan; (2) the relationships between landscape structure and birds' diversity will be different in different hierarchical levels. In order to increase the bird species, landscape planners could tries to increase the density of water bodies, but decrease the farms and human planted woods. Decrease the density of constructed and human planted grasslands. Increase the area of un-worked acres, natural grasslands, and the area of water bodies and circular the water bodies and natural forest. In order to increase birds' diversity, landscape planners could decrease the concentration of paved areas. Concentrate the human planted trees to increase the core areas of woodlands. Increase the area of natural grassland circular. In order to increase the total number of birds in the planning areas, landscape planners could scattered the paved areas and lengthen the constructed areas. Decreases the core region of the constructed areas. Increase the area of un-worked acres and water bodies. Decrease the disturbance of both the interior area of natural and human planted woodlands and try to increase the density of water bodies.;The analysis results showed that the small grain size indexes are more suitable for the rural areas of Taiwan to capture the influential factors of bird communities. The high fragmentation of land usages in Taiwan lessens the influences of the regional landscape pattern.

In recent years, e-learning system has been adopted as a training tool in many firms, as it can help employees to complete training in a short time and at a low cost. Within this context, since 2003 the Industrial Development Bureau （IDB） of the Ministry of Economic Affairs （MOEA） in Taiwan sponsored more than 50 enterprises each year to help them implement customized e-learning systems. Past research on e-learning mostly focused on one criterion and adopted regression approach, such as examining the relationships between satisfaction or continued usage intentions and various antecedent factors. Although the regression method could uncover the significant factors of e-learning adoption, they can not show the can （weighting） of each factor, and thus firms cannot allocate the optimal levels of resources. To overcome this problem, this study collected factors related to finns implementing customized e-learning systems from a review of the literature and expert opinions, and then constructed a hierarchical factor table. Based on the appropriateness and independence of factors, and as assessed by experts in the project promotion office of the IDB, e-learning solution providers and project leaders of the IDB sponsored enterprises, this paper then designed an Analytical Hierarchy Process （AHP） format questionnaire and sent it to these same experts to gather their responses. The factor weightings were derived based on the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process （FAHP） method. Finally, analysis of key factors was performed and recommendations provided. Based on the results for this work, service industry firms with limited resources can achieve proper resource allocation and more quickly and successfully adopt customized e-Learning systems.

Rapid Synthesis of Piezoelectric ZnO-Nanostructures for Micro Power-Generators

In this paper, we report a rapid synthesis of piezoelectric ZnO-nanostructures and fabrication of the nanostructures- based power-generators demonstrating an energy conversion from an environmental mechanical/ultrasonic energy to an electrical energy. The ZnO nanostructures are grown on a silicon wafer by a modified chemical solution method （CSD, chemical-solution-deposition） with a two-step thermal-oxidation approach. The synthesis process can be completed within 1 h. By varying the mixture-ratio of Zn micro-particles in an oxalic acid solution with 0.75 mol/l concentration in the CSD process, the growth mechanism is well-controlled to synthesize three different types of ZnO-nanostructures （i.e., dandelion-like nanostructures, columnar nanostructures, and nanowires）. Furthermore, through oxidizing at different temperatures in the thermal-oxidation process, the featured geometry of the nanostructures （e.g., the length and diameter of a nanowire） is modified. The geometry, size, morphology, crystallization, and material phase of the modified nanostructures are characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Finally, the nanostructures are used to fabricate several micro power-generators. Through the piezoelectric effect, a maximum current density output of 0.28 μA cm-2 generated by a power-generator under an ultrasonic wave is observed.

Viscoelastic（VE） dampers, with their stiffness and energy dissipation capabilities, have been widely used in civil engineering for mitigating wind-induced vibration and seismic responses of structures, thus enhancing the comfort of residents and serviceability of equipment inside. In past relevant research, most analytical models for characterizing the mechanical behavior of VE dampers were verified by comparing their predictions with performance test results from small-scale specimens, which might not adequately or conservatively represent the actual behavior of full-scale dampers, especially with regard to the ambient temperature, temperature rise, and heat convection effects. Thus, in this study, by using a high-performance testing facility with a temperature control system, full-scale VE dampers were dynamically tested with different displacement amplitudes, excitation frequencies, and ambient temperatures. By comparing the analytical predictions with the experimental results, it is demonstrated that adopting the fractional derivative method together with considering the effects of excitation frequencies, ambient temperatures, temperature rises, softening, and hardening, can reproduce the design performance of full-scale VE dampers very well.
