This study is the first to report the radiocarbon ages, mineralogical, morphological, geochemical and stable isotope compositions of calcretes from Neogene sediments around lakes Eymir and Mogan in the G？lba？？ Basin of central Anatolia. Morphologically different forms of calcretes in the G？lba？？ Basin include powdery, nodular, fracture infill, laminar and hardpan types. calcite is the dominant mineral of calcrete compositions; the diagnostic features of dessication cracks, random fractures, Mn O linings and dense sparitic infillings are observed. chemical analyses show arid conditions with mean annual precipitation of 〈50 mm. δ13c compositions of the calcretes range from-6.77‰ to-9.32‰ PDB, typical for most pedogenic calcretes, reflecting the development under seasonally arid climates and c3-dominated vegetation cover. δ18O values are between-5.57‰ and-7.80‰ PDB, indicating the formation from meteoric water in a vadose zone environment. The results suggest that the Middle Pleistocene was arider and warmer, favouring the formation of palygorskite in association with the different forms of calcrete occurrences, whereas the Late Pleistocene was dryer and cooler, supporting the development of calcretes.

In this article,we consider a new family of exponential type estimators for estimating the unknown population mean of the study *** propose estimators taking advantage of the auxiliary variable information under the first and second non-response cases *** required theoretical comparisons are obtained and the numerical studies are *** conclusion,the results show that the proposed family of estimators is the most efficient estimator with respect to the estimators in literature under the obtained conditions for both cases.

AIM:To evaluate and compare the peripapillary and retinal vasculature changes in primary open angle glaucoma(POAG),pseudoexfoliation glaucoma(PXG),ocular hypertension(OHT)and normal eyes using optical coherence tomography angiography(OcTA).METHODS:A total of 114 POAG,PXG and OHT eyes of 60 patients and 46 eyes of 23 healthy control participants with good quality OcTA images were *** PXG,POAG,OHT,and control groups(aged 68.17±6.30 y,61.11±10.26 y,58.1±8.9 y,and 56.9±4.6 y,respectively)contained of 46,36,32,and 46 eyes,*** of vessel density(VD)in the peripapillary region and macula,average retinal inner thickness,and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness(RNFLT)were compared among *** order to test the accuracy of differentiation between eyes with and without glaucoma,the area was calculated under the receiver operating characteristic(ROc)***:The VD in glaucomatous eyes was significantly lower than the control group in all peripapillary sectors(44.35%±6.78%vs 50.47%±1.83%,Pcial(44.08%±5.46%vs 51.28%±2.85%,Pcular *** was a significant difference in peripapillary VD between glaucomatous and OHT eyes(44.35%±6.78%vs 49.86%±2.45%,Pcial(48.06%±4.32%vs 51.28%±2.85%,P=0.027)and deep plexus(48.70%±5.99%vs 54.20%±5.44%,P=0.013)whole image vessel density(wiVD)than did the control *** average macular superficial plexus wiVD was significantly lower in eyes with PXG than in eyes with POAG(42.22%±5.36%vs 46.54%±5.56%,P=0.046).cONcLUSION:OcTA can measure reduced peripapillary and macular VD in eyes with glaucoma and OHT,and these results are correlated to functional and structural glaucomatous *** and macular superficial plexus VD is lower in eyes with PXG than in eyes with ***,the OHT eyes demonstrate impaired macular vasculature in both superficial and deep plexus.

Objective:To examine the effect of the cOVID-19 virus,especially the Omicron variant,on hematological parameters of hospitalized pediatric patients during the cOVID-19 ***:Medical records of pediatric cOVID-19 patients hospitalized at kartal Dr.Lütfi k?rdar city Hospital in Istanbul,Turkey,between March 2020 and May 2022 were retrospectively reviewed to analyze data regarding demographics,SARS-co V-2 infection polymerase chain reaction(PcR)test results,reversetranscriptase(RT)-PcR for other respiratory agents,duration of hospital stay,and hematological and biochemical laboratory ***:Out of 467 children with a confirmed diagnosis of SARSco V-2 infection,94(20.1%)had Omicron infection and 373(79.9%)were infected with other variants;the Omicron group had younger patients than the remaining samples(Pclinical symptoms in all children were cough(53.5%)and fever(32.3%),followed by vomiting(20.8%).Lung involvement in the Omicron group(10.6%)was significantly lower than in the remaining samples(29.8%)(Pcyte levels were lower in the Omicron-infected group(both Pctivated partial thromboplastin time,international normalized ratio,and D-dimer levels were significantly higher in this group(Pctively).In terms of lung involvement,those with lung involvement were significantly older(Pconclusions:Although lung involvement was less common with Omicron infection,this group had greater hematological system involvement,such as anemia,lymphopenia,D-dimer elevation,and coagulation disorders.

It is one of the topics that have been studied extensively on maximum power point tracking(MPPT)*** or soft computing methods are used for *** soft computing approaches are more effective than traditional approaches,studies on MPPT have shifted in this *** study aims comparison of performance of seven meta-heuristic training algorithms in the neuro-fuzzy training for *** meta-heuristic training algorithms used are particle swarm optimization(PSO),harmony search(HS),cuckoo search(cS),artificial bee colony(ABc)algorithm,bee algorithm(BA),differential evolution(DE)and flower pollination algorithm(FPA).The antecedent and conclusion parameters of neuro-fuzzy are determined by these *** data of a 250 W photovoltaic(PV)is used in the *** effective MPPT,different neuro-fuzzy structures,different membership functions and different control parameter values are evaluated in *** training algorithms are compared in terms of solution quality and convergence *** strengths and weaknesses of these algorithms are *** is seen that the type and number of membership function,colony size,number of generations affect the solution quality and convergence speed of the training *** a result,it has been observed that cS and ABc algorithm are more effective than other algorithms in terms of solution quality and convergence in solving the related problem.

Background Functional constipation is a clinical problem with an incompletely understood etiology. Functional bowel diseases have been shown to be related to inflammation in many studies in adults. In this study, we aimed to evaluate leuko-cytes, c-reactive protein, proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, and neopterin levels in children with functional constipation. Methods Seventy-six children with constipation and 71 healthy controls (mean age 7.12 ± 3.46 years and 7.32 ± 4.33 years, respectively, P = 0.991) were included in the study. Leukocytes, c-reactive protein, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and neopterin levels were assessed in patients and healthy controls. Parameters were measured in the serum using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay methods. Results Mean IL-6 (20.31 ± 12.05 vs. 16.2 ± 10.25 pg/mL, respectively, P = 0.003), IL-12 (181.42 ± 133.45 vs. 135.6 ± 83.67 pg/mL, respectively, P = 0.018) and neopterin levels (2.08 ± 1.12 vs. 1.52 ± 1.02 pg/mL, respectively, P = 0.001) were significantly higher in constipated children than healthy controls. Leukocyte and thrombocyte counts, c-reactive protein, and IL-1β, IL-10 and TNF-α levels did not show any difference between the two groups. conclusions In this study, IL-6, IL-12 and neopterin levels of constipated patients were found to be higher than those of controls. These results indicate the presence of subclinical inflammation in children with functional constipation.

Effect of intracorneal ring segment implantation on corneal asphericity

AIM： To evaluate the visual, refractive and corneal asphericity changes after intrastromal corneal ring segment（IcRS） implantation for visual rehabilitation of ***： A total of 42 eyes of 32 patients were included. After creation of intrastromal tunnels of 5.01±0.03 mm inner diameter, 5.71±0.03 mm outer diameter and at 384.21±34.12 μm depth, 1 or 2 IcRS of 150-300 μm thickness and 90°-210° arc length were implanted. changes in uncorrected distance visual acuity（UDVA）, corrected distance visual acuity（cDVA）, refractive errors, mean simulated keratometry readings Simk_（avg）, anterior and posterior corneal asphericity values（Q_（ant） and Q_（post）, respectively） measured with Scheimpflug topography were evaluated retrospectively. RESULTS： There was a significant improvement in UDVA and cDVA, along with a significant decrease in refractive spherical equivalent（SE）, cylinder and Simk_（avg） postoperatively（P〈0.001 for all）. Mean Qant increased from-1.06±0.48 to-0.57±0.58 postoperatively（P〈0.001）. change in mean Qpost was insignificant（P=0.92）. Postoperative changes in UDVA and cDVA were not correlated with the postoperative changes in SE and cylinder（P〉0.05 for all）; but were correlated with the preoperative Simk_（avg） and Q_（ant） values（P〈0.001 for all）. cONcLUSION： IcRS implantation seems to approximate the anterior corneal asphericity of ＂advanced prolate＂ shape to ＂optimal prolate＂ shape and an ＂ideal Q value＂ of-0.46; which may have a role in improved UDVA and cDVA postoperatively, besides decreased refractive cylinder values.

Objective:To examine the effects of human bocavirus type 1(HBoV1)on the course of lower respiratory tract infections in cases of monoinfection and coinfection,and the effects of HBoV1 viral load on the disease in children under six years old hospitalized with a diagnosis of HBoV1-associated lower respiratory tract ***:children under six years of age,who were hospitalized with the diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection due to HBoV1 between 1 January 2021 and 1 January 2022 were included in the *** confirmation of the respiratory pathogens was performed using polymerase chain reaction(PcR).Results:Fifty-four(16.4%)children with HBoV1 among 329 children whose PcR was positive with bacterial/viral agent in nasopharyngeal swab samples were included in the *** were 28(51.9%)males and 26(48.1%)females with a median age 23.4 months[interquartile range(IQR):13.2,30.0 months](min-max:1 month-68 months).HBoV1 was detected as a monoinfecton in 26(48.1%)children,and as a coinfection with other respiratory agents in 28 children(51.9%).In multiple regression analysis,coinfection(P=0.032)was associated with the length of hospitalization(Pcorrelation(r=−0.281,P=0.040)between cough and cycle *** was found to be positively correlated with c-reactive protein(r=0.568,Pcalcitonin(r=0.472;P=0.001).conclusions:Although we found a higher HBoV1 viral load in children with more cough symptoms in our study,it had no effect on the severity of the disease,such as length of hospital stay and need for intensive *** was found to affect the length of hospitalization.
