Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis is a commensal bacterium that predominates in the infant gut， playing a critical role in both preventing foreign infections and facilitating immune development. This study aimed to explore the effects of B. longum subsp. infantis supplementation on interferon-beta (IFN-β) secretion and intestinal barrier improvement in growing mice. Female and male mice were orally administered either saline or B. longum subsp. infantis CCFM1269 or I5TI (1 × 109CFU/mice per day， n = 8) from 1-week-age until 3-， 4-， and 5-week-age. RNA sequencing analysis revealed that CCFM1269 exhibited potential antiviral capacity through increasing 2’-5’ oligoadenylate synthetase (OAS). Additionally， CCFM1269 supplementation significantly increased colonic IFN-β levels which combined with OAS in 3-week-old female and male mice by activating the TLR4-TRIF-dependent signaling pathway. However， this effect was not observed in 4- and 5-week-old mice. Furthermore， both CCFM1269 were found to modulate the gut microbiota composition and enhance the intestinal barrier function in 3-， 4-， and 5-week-old mice. In summary， the results of this study suggested that B. longum subsp. infantis CCFM1269 promoting intestinal barrier and releasing IFN-β in growing mice was in a strain-specific and time-dependent manner.

This study endeavors to investigate the effects of Bifidobacterium breve CCFM1078 on bone formation and resorption balance in growing BALB/c mice. Newborn BALB/c mice were assigned to the control group (administration saline) and the CCFM1078 group (administration B. breve CCFM1078， 3 × 109CFU/day) in 3-， 4-， and 5-week tests. All the groups have male and female distinctions. Our findings demonstrate that B. breve CCFM1078 exerts on the dynamic equilibrium between bone formation and resorption during the critical period of growth in mice by modulating the composition of gut microbiota and metabolites (hexadecanamide， linoleoyl ethanolamide， and palmitoyl ethanolamide)， the genes and proteins expression related to the GH/IGF-1 axis and Gs/PKA/CREB signaling pathways， as well as downstream osteogenic and osteoclastic differentiation factors. The effects of B. breve CCFM1078 were different with age and gender dependent. This finding suggests B. breve CCFM1078 may have potential applications in regulating bone metabolism in the growth period population.

The development of reliable catalysts with both excellent activity and recyclability for carbon dioxide(co_(2))hydrogenation is ***,a ternary hybrid heterogeneous catalyst,involving mononuclear Ru complex,N,P-containing porous organic polymers(POPs),and mesoporous hollow carbon spheres(Ru^(3+)-POPs@MHCS)is reported for co_(2)hydrogenation to *** on comprehensive structural analyses,we demonstrated that Ru^(3+)-POPs were successfully immobilized within *** optimized Ru^(3+)-0.5POPs@MHCS catalyst,which was obtained with about 5 wt.%Ru^(3+)and 0.5 mmol POPs polymers confined into 0.3 g MHCS,exhibited high catalytic activity for co_(2)hydrogenation to formate(turnover number(TON)>1,200 for 24 h under mild reaction conditions(4.0 MPa,120℃))and improved durability.compared to Ru^(3+)catalysts without POPs polymers(Ru^(3+)-MHCS)and unencapsulated MHCS(Ru^(3+)-0.5POPs)*** improved catalytic performance is attributed to the high surface area and large pore volume of MHCS which favors dispersion and stabilization of Ru^(3+)-***,the MHCS and POPs showed high co_(2)adsorption ***^(3+)-POPs encapsulated into MHCS reduces the activation energy barrier for co_(2)hydrogenation to formate.

Background and Objective: HIV, hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are very widespread in the world, however, less than 20% of the people affected are diagnosed and treated. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of HIV, HCV and HBV co-infections in pregnant women at Bangui community University Hospital and the cost of screening. Methods: A cross-sectional study involving consenting pregnant women who came for antenatal care was performed. HIV, HCV antibodies and HBV antigens were detected using Exacto Triplex? HIV/HCV/HBsAg rapid test, cross-validated by ELISA tests. Sociodemographic and professional data, the modes of transmission and prevention of HIV and both hepatitis viruses were collected in a standard sheet and analyzed using the Epi-Info software version 7. Results: Pregnant women aged 15 to 24 were the most affected (45.3%);high school girls (46.0%), and pregnant women living in cohabitation (65.3%) were the most represented. Twenty-five (16.7%) worked in the formal sector, 12.7% were unemployed housewives and the remainder in the informal sector. The prevalence of HIV, HBV, and HCV viruses was 11.8%, 21.9% and 22.2%, respectively. The prevalence of co-infections was 8.6% for HIV-HBV, 10.2% for HIV-HCV, 14.7% for HBV-HCV and 6.5% for HIV-HBV-HCV. All positive results and 10% of negative results by the rapid test were confirmed by ELISA tests. The serology of the three viruses costs 39,000 FCFA (60 Euros) by ELISA compared to 10,000 FCFA (15.00 Euros) with Exacto Triplex? HIV/HCV/AgHBs (BioSynex, Strasbourg, France). conclusion: The low level of education and awareness of hepatitis are barriers to development and indicate the importance of improving the literacy rate of women in the Central African Republic (CAR). Likewise, the high prevalence of the three viruses shows the need for the urgent establishment of a national program to combat viral hepatitis in the CAR.

Habitat suitability models have been used to predict the present and future potential distribution of a variety of spe- cies. Eurasian tree sparrows Passer montanus, native to Eurasia, have established populations in other parts of the world. In North America, their current distribution is limited to a relatively small region around its original introduction to St. Louis, Missouri. We combined data from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility with current and future climate data to create habitat suitability models using Maxent for this species. Under projected climate change scenarios, our models show that the distribution and range of the Eurasian tree sparrow could increase as far as the Pacific Northwest and Newfoundland. This is potentially important in-formation for prioritizing the management and control of this non-native species [Current Zoology 57 （5）： 648--654, 2011].

In this paper, the application of molecular catalysis for steam reforming of ethanol （SRE） is reviewed. Eight metals （Ni, co, Cu Pt, Rh, Pd, Ir and Ru） have shown high catalytic activity for SRE. Among them Ni and Rh are very promising because of high d character in the metal bond and low metal-oxygen bonding （vs. metal-carbon）. They can effectively promote C-C bond cleavage in the rate-determining process during SRE. However, Rh is weak in water-gas-shift so that CH4 and co become the main by-products at low reaction temperatures, while Ni catalysts suffer from rapid deactivation due to coking and sintering. Two low-temperature co-free catalysts have been developed in our lab, namely Rh-Fe/Ca-Al2O3 and carbonyl-derived Rh-co/CeO2, in which the presence of iron oxide or co can promote water-gas-shift reaction and significantly improve the SRE performance. On the other hand, adding 3 wt% CaO to Ni/Al2O3 can greatly improve the catalyst stability because the Ca modification not only increases Ni concentration on the Ni/Ca-Al2O3 surface and 3d valence electron density, but also facilitates the water adsorption and coke gasification via water-gas-shift. The availability of abundant surface OH groups helps the formation and conversion of adsorbed formate intermediate. Hence, ethanol reaction on Ca-Al2O3-supported Ni, Pt, Pd and Rh catalysts are found to follow the formate-intermediated pathway, a new reaction pathway alternative to the traditional acetate-interrnediated pathway.

Carbon dioxide(co2) is the largest anthropogenic greenhouse gas(GHG) on the planet contributing to the global warming. Currently, there are three capture technologies of trapping co2 from the flue gas and they are pre-combustion, post-combustion and oxy-fuel combustion. Among these, the post-combustion is widely popular as it can be retrofitted for a short to medium term without encountering any significant technology risks or *** carbon is widely used as a universal separation medium with series of advantages compared to the first generation capture processes based on amine-based scrubbing which are inherently energy intensive. The goal of this review is to elucidate the three co2 capture technologies with a focus on the use of activated carbon(AC) as an adsorbent for post-combustion anthropogenic co2 flue gas capture prior to emission to atmosphere. Furthermore, this coherent review summarizes the recent ongoing research on the preparation of activated carbon from various sources to provide a profound understanding on the current progress to highlight the challenges of the co2 mitigation efforts along with the mathematical modeling of co2 capture. AC is widely seen as a universal adsorbent due to its unique properties such as high surface area and porous texture. Other applications of AC in the removal of contaminants from flue gas, heavy metal and organic compounds, as a catalyst and catalyst support and in the electronics and electroplating industry are also discussed in this study.
