Comparison between Classical and Intelligent Identification Systems for Classification of Gait Events

Gait event detection is important for diagnosis and evaluation. This is a challenging endeavor due to subjectivity, high amount of data, among other problems. ANFIS （Artificial Neural Fuzzy Inference Systems）, ARX （Autoregressive Models with Exogenous Variables）, OE （Output Error models）, NARX （Nonlinear Autoregressive Models with Exogenous Variables） and models based on NN （neural networks） were developed in order to detect gait events without the problems mentioned. The objective was to compare developed models＇ performance and determinate the most suitable model for gait events detection. Knee joint angle, heel foot switch and toe foot switch during normal walking in a treadmill were collected from a healthy volunteer. Gait events were classified by three experts in human motion. Experts＇ mean classification was obtained and all models were trained and tested with the collected data and experts＇ mean classification. Fit percentage was obtained to evaluate models performance. Fit percentages were： ANFIS： 79.49%, ARX： 68.8%, OE： 71.39%, NARX： 88.59%, NNARX： 67.66%, NNRARX： 68.25% and NNARMAX： 54.71%. NARX had the best performance for gait events classification. For ARX and OE, previous filtering is needed. NN＇s models showed the best performance for high frequency components, ANFIS and NARX were able to integrate criteria from three experts for gait analysis. NARX and ANFIS are suitable for gait event identification. Test with additional subjects is needed.

High pressure responsive luminescence of flexible Eu^(3+) doped PVDF fibrous mats

Exploring lanthanide doped materials and their high-pressure optical properties is important from the perspective of designing pressure sensors, piezoelectric materials, scintillators, and optoelectronic devices, just to mention a few. Understanding the high-pressure optical properties of polymeric fibrous mats provides significant advantages in terms of flexibility, tunability, facile processability, and malleability. In this work, we have developed flexible polyvinylidene difluoride(PVDF) fibrous mats doped with an Eu^(3+) source of Eu(NO_(3))_(3)·5H_(2)O(EN-PF) or Eu_(2)(SO_(4))_(3)(ES-PF) by a Forcespinning■ method. Microstructural analysis of these two systems indicates that Eu(NO_(3))_(3)·5H_(2)O and Eu_(2)(SO_(4))_(3) are homogeneously distributed and dispersed into the PVDF matrix. Fiber formation promotes a β-phase PVDF. Eu^(3+) doping increases the β-phase. Its fraction is larger for the ES-PF mats. To understand their high-pressure optical properties, their photoluminescence spectra have been taken at various pressures up to 58 GPa in a diamond anvil cell. High-pressure luminescence illustrates a clear change in asymmetry ratio, peak intensity, peak breadth, color coordinate, and color temperature of Eu^(3+) ions from both EN-PF and ES-PF with a different extent of changes. Specifically, Eu^(3+) ions in the ES-PF mats switch from asymmetric to symmetric environment as pressure increases. Those in the EN-PF mats present symmetric environment for all tested pressures. Both of the Eu^(3+) doped PVDF systems present irreversible changes. Therefore,the EN-PF fibrous mats present an opportunity to make pressure induced red-orange-yellow tunable phosphors for multifunctional applications.

一般观点讲，洗钱被认为是一个独立的犯罪并且它属于有组织犯罪的分类，因为要施行洗钱活动必须存在一个有组织的结构。洗钱活动一般有两个目的：第一个目的是管理以前犯罪所产生的收益-也称为前犯罪或者上游犯罪。第二个目的是保护那一些非法获得收益-洗钱犯罪即是把这些非法收益表现为一般合法活动生产的收益，即使它们最初的真实资金来源是之前犯罪得到的。洗钱活动是一个庞大的组织犯罪系统中的一个犯罪部分，因为其有不同执行层次以及其再实施未来的犯罪的特点。这是一个重要课题，因为我们处理并且防止它的方式是打击拥有巨大资源的犯罪黑手党及其他非法组织。这些黑手党及其他非法组织本质上是以通过赚取非法利润。特别是为打击恐怖主义集团，恐怖主义集团通过洗钱活动找到了完美的资金来源实施其犯罪活动。因此，这项研究的主要目标正是指向分析两个不同的法律制度。哥伦比亚和中国的立法，关于控制和打击洗钱活动和其收益，是一种控诉洗钱犯罪方式，并作为一种预防机制。这项研究也表明一个国家反洗钱立法的重要性，通过哥伦比亚和中国两个国家不同法律系统的比较来规避创造这种犯罪活动的因素。建立一个未来的社会发展项目来改进两个国家的社会和经济水平，也帮助大家看清楚洗钱活动的真实面目。对我们现代社会具有这重要的作用。

Understanding the factors shaping species＇ distributions is a key longstanding topic in ecology with unresolved issues. The aims were to test whether the relative contribution of abiotic factors that set the geographical range of freshwater fish species may vary spatially and/or may depend on the geographical extent that is being considered. The relative contribution of factors, to discriminate between the conditions prevailing in the area where the species is present and those existing in the considered extent, was estimated with the instability index included in the R pack- age SPEDInstabR. We used 3 different extent sizes： 1） each river basin where the species is present （local）; 2） all river basins where the species is present （regional）; and 3） the whole Earth （global）. We used a data set of 16,543 freshwater fish species with a total of 845,764 geographical records, together with bioclimatic and topographic variables. Factors associated with tempera- ture and altitude show the highest relative contribution to explain the distribution of freshwater fishes at the smaller considered extent. Altitude and a mix of factors associated with temperature and precipitation were more important when using the regional extent. Factors associated with precipitation show the highest contribution when using the global extent. There was also spatial variability in the importance of factors, both between species and within species and from region to region. Factors associated with precipitation show a clear latitudinal trend of decreasing in importance toward the equator.

Completion thyroidectomy:is timing important for transcervical and remote access approaches?

Completion thyroidectomy(CT)is employed after lobectomy when histopathological results mandates total removal of the gland as in case of well differentiated thyroid carcinoma(DTC).It is also employed as a second stage thyroid surgery when unfavorable events occur as in recurrent laryngeal nerve injury or when the surgeon finds out the case is beyond his/her expertise in an attempt to protect the contralateral side and allowing time for recovery or for an expert surgeon to help.

Aims Understanding the factors that control biodiversity distributions at different spatial scales has been a key challenge for conservation *** biodiversity,reflected in differences in species compositions among sites(beta diversity),can be derived from species replacement(turnover)and is driven by multiple ***,we sought to tackle this issue through two questions related to threatened Brazilian seasonally dry forests:(i)what is the contribution of species turnover to beta diversity?and(ii)which factors drive variations in species compositions among forest patches?Methods We sampled tree species and environmental variables(soils and climate)in 17 dry forest patches spaced almost 300 km *** used the beta diversity partitioning framework to determine the contribution of *** used redundancy analysis,with properly controlled spatial structure,to assess the contributions of the environmental and spatial factors to the variations of the species *** Findings Beta diversity among the patches was mainly represented by the turnover component(98.2%),with Simpson dissimilarity superior to other regions of the country(means of 0.89 and 0.71 in multiple site and pairwise measures,respectively).The environmental factors measured explained more than space,representing 30.3%of the variation of the species composition,of which 28.1%was nonspatially *** suggest that 300 km represents a threshold at which edaphic and climatic predictors have similar effects in determining community turnover(14.9%and 12.6%,respectively,without spatial structure).Thus,conservation strategies should be considered across landscapes to effectively protect tropical forest diversity,as even considering the different climatic aspects covered by the scale,landscaped edaphic varieties are important drivers of species turnover.

Background:Even though the use of nerve monitoring during parotid gland surgery is not the gold standard to prevent damage to the nerve,it surely offers some advantages over the traditional *** from thyroid surgery,where a series of steps in intraoperative nerve monitoring have been described to confirm not only the integrity but—most importantly—the function of the recurrent laryngeal nerve,in parotid gland surgery,a formal guideline to follow while dissecting the facial nerve has yet to be ***:A five‐year retrospective study was done reviewing the intraoperative records of patients who underwent parotid gland surgery under neural *** operative findings regarding the neuromonitoring process,particularly in regard to the amplitude of two main branches,were revised.A literature search was done to search for guidelines to follow when a facial nerve loss of signal is ***:Fifty‐five patients were operated on using the Nim 3 Nerve Monitoring System(Medtronic);31 were female patients,and 47 patients had benign *** changes were observed in the amplitude records after a comparison was made between the first and the last *** were only three articles discussing the term loss of signal during parotid gland ***:Today,no sufficient attention has been given to the facial nerve monitoring process during *** study proposes a formal guideline to follow during this procedure as well as an instruction to consider when a loss of signal is observed to develop a uniform technique of facial nerve stimulation.

主要研究轨枕间距对钢轨波磨发展的影响。研究小半径曲线内轨的小矢跨比波磨。这些出现问题的曲线段属于西班牙毕尔巴鄂区域的地铁轨道,铺设着混凝土道床和两层STEDEF型支承垫层。当初始轨枕间距为1000mm时,仅有92万组轮对通过后所测得的波磨深度峰-峰值已经达到0.42mm。随后更换产生波磨的钢轨,比较列车通过时轨枕上方和轨间中部的内轨垂向、横向加速度。当轨枕间距为1000mm时,轨间中部出现频率为204和244Hz的强烈响应,在轨枕上方却未出现。在相邻轨枕中间铺设一个轨枕,使轨枕间距变为500mm,钢轨波磨停止发展。该结论是根据2年的观测结果得到的。

Sarcomas constitute a rare heterogeneous group of tumors,including a wide variety of histological *** advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease,first-line sarcoma treatment options are still limited and new treatment approaches are *** H2AX phosphorylation is a sensitive marker for double strand breaks and has recently emerged as biomarker of DNA damage for new drug *** this study,we explored the role of H2AX phosphorylation at Ser139 alone or in combination with MAP17 protein,an inducer of DNA damage through ROS increase,as prognostic biomarkers in sarcoma ***,we proposed doxorubicin and olaparib combination as potential therapeutic strategies against sarcomas displaying high level of both *** evaluate retrospectively the levels of pH2AX(Ser139)and MAP17 in a cohort of 69 patients with different sarcoma types and its relationship with clinical and pathological *** found that the levels of pH2AX and MAP17 were related to clinical features and poor ***,we pursued PARP1 inhibition with olaparib to potentiate the antitumor effect of DNA damaging effect of the DNA damaging agent doxorubicin to achieve an optimal synergy in *** demonstrated that the combination of olaparib and doxorubicin was synergistic in vitro,inhibiting cell proliferation and enhancing pH2AX intranuclear accumulation,as a result of DNA *** synergism was corroborated in patient-derived xenografts(PDX)where the combination was effective in tumors with high levels of pH2AX and MAP17,suggesting that both biomarkers might potentially identify patients who better benefit from this combined therapy.
