The bopyrid isopod species Rhopalione sinensis Markham, 1990, is recorded for only the second time, from a new locality in china outside Hong Kong, the type-locality. This is also the first finding of the male R. sinensis, which is herein described. Its host, Arcotheres sinensis （Shen, 1932） is a new record. A review of the four known species of Rhopalione perez, 1920, an updated diagnosis of the genus and a key to species are provided.

We demonstrate edge-emitting exciton-polariton(polariton)laser operation from 5 to 300 K and polariton amplifiers based on polariton modes within ZnO *** guided mode dispersion below and above the lasing threshold is directly measured using gratings placed on top of the sample,fully demonstrating the polaritonic nature of the lasing *** threshold is found to be smaller than that expected for radiative polaritons in planar ZnO microcavities below 150 K and comparable *** results open up broad perspectives for guided polaritonics by enabling easier and more straightforward implementation of polariton integrated circuits that exploit fast propagating polaritons,and,possibly,topological protection.

coronavirus disease 2019(cOVID-19)is a disease produced by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-coV-2)and it is currently causing a catastrophic pandemic affecting humans *** disease has been lethal for approximately 3.12 million people around the world since January ***,among the most affected countries,Mexico ranks third in deaths after the United States of America and *** the high number of deceased people might also be explained by social aspects and lifestyle customs in Mexico,there is a relationship between this high proportion of deaths and comorbidities such as high blood pressure(HBP),type 2 diabetes,obesity,and metabolic *** official epidemiological figures reported by the Mexican government have indicated that 18.4%of the population suffers from HBP,close to 10.3%of adults suffer from type 2 diabetes,and approximately 36.1%of the population suffers from *** in the gut microbiota(GM)have been associated with these diseases and with cOVID-19 severity,presumably due to inflammatory *** data about the association between GM dysbiosis and metabolic diseases could suggest that the high levels of susceptibility to SARScoV-2 infection and cOVID-19 morbidity in the Mexican population are primarily due to the prevalence of type 2 diabetes,obesity,and metabolic syndrome.

complement deficiencies are uncommon types of primary immunodeficiency. Necrotizing fasciitis is a rare complication in pregnancy characterized by soft tissue invasion and necrosis of the subcutaneous and other adjacent tissues, leading to high mortality rates. We report a case of a 29-year-old pregnant woman with functional deficiency of the c4 complement component and short uterine cervix. Admitted at the hospital with preterm labor, she received multiple doses of immunoglobulin. After 8 weeks, she had a premature membrane rupture, and due to pelvic presentation she had a cesarean. The patient presented multiple obstetric complications, such as operative wound infection, endometritis, sepsis, necrotizing fasciitis and pelvic septic thrombophlebitis. She underwent multiple antimicrobial schemes, a hysterectomy and 4 extensive debridements of the abdominal wall because of significant necrosis. She stayed at the hospital for 101 days (32 of those in IcU in immediate postpartum). 41 days after cesarean, patient was discharged in good conditions. Our case emphasizes individual handling and high multiple doses of immunoglobulin for favorable outcome of the case.

The goal of our work was to locate and quantify changes that occurred in 66% of the Mexican coastline, based on four land cover maps generated by the Mexican Mangrove Monitoring System(SMMM) of the National commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity(cONABIO) for the years 1970/81, 2005, 2010, and 2015. Our results showed overall dominance of erosion over accretion processes, beaches being the most affected coastal land cover. Emphasis was placed on identification and description of coastline sites in which land was either continuously lost(erosion) or gained(accretion) during the studied time periods. These sites were defined as continuous unidirectional dynamic sites and were compared with previous knowledge about the geodynamics of Mexican coasts. continuous unidirectional dynamic sites were distributed throughout the study area and within all land cover types, but predominantly corresponded to areas covered by mangroves in the states of campeche and Nayarit. Finally, we found an intensification of coastal erosion-accretion processes over time;coastline change rates having duplicated between the earliest(1970/81–2005) and the two more recent(2005–2010, and 2010–2015) analysed time periods, with erosion rates for each corresponding period of –3 m/yr,–7.5 m/yr, and –7.3 m/yr,and accretion rates of 2.8 m/yr, 7.3 m/yr, and 6.9 m/yr, respectively.
