Objective:To evaluate symptom experience and quality of life(QoL)and to identify the predictors of QoL among colorectal cancer patients undergoing ***:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 107 colorectal cancer patients at a university-affiliated hospital between June 1 and July 30,*** Assessment of cancer Therapy-colorectal(FAcT-c)and Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale-Short Form(MSAS-SF)were used to assess symptom experience and QoL of these *** were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation,t-test,ANOVA,and hierarchical multiple ***:The mean QoL score for colorectal cancer patients was 88.78±*** most frequently experienced physical and psychological symptoms were numbness/tingling and *** and psychological symptoms have a significant negative association with *** economic status was significantly associated with QoL in patients’general *** regression analyses showed that high psychological symptoms(β=-0.63,Pceived economic status(β=-0.22,P=0.009),and low perceived economic status(β=-0.36,Pcally significant in predicting patients’low ***:Symptom experience and QoL are essential variables that should be acknowledged when delivering health care to colorectal cancer *** attention to the reduction and comprehensive symptom management of psychological distress could improve QoL among colorectal cancer patients.

Recently,the importance of vehicle safety supporting system has been highlighted as autonomous driving and platooning has attracted the *** ensure driving safety,each vehicle must broadcast a basic safety message(BSM)every 100 ***,stable BSM exchange is difficult because of the changing environment and limited bandwidth of vehicular wireless *** increasing number of vehicles on the road increases the competition to access wireless networks for BSM exchange;this increases the packet collision *** increased packet collision rate impairs the transmission and reception of BSM information,which can easily cause a traffic *** propose a solution,the vehicular safety support system(V3S),which exchanges BSMs reliably even when many vehicles are on the *** V3S uses a clustering scheme to decrease network traffic by reducing the amount of data exchanged between a vehicle and the roadside unit(RSU).In addition,the V3S reduces the collision rate of wireless network packets by broadcasting the vehicle’s BSM in an allocated timeslot using the time division multiple access(TDMA)MAc *** V3S also deals with insufficient bandwidth for dedicated short-range communications(DSRc)by changing DSRc channels according to traffic *** evaluating the packet error rate for stable BSM packet delivery,the V3S demonstrates an excellent packet error rate of less than 1%,compared to the 802.11p with its packet error rate of 82%.

SnO_(2)/graphene nanocomposites have been fabricated by a simple chemical *** the fabrication process,the control of surface charge causes echinoid-like SnO_(2)nanoparticles to be formed and uniformly decorated on the *** electrostatic attraction between a graphene nanosheet(GNS)and the echinoid-like SnO_(2)particles under controlled pH creates a unique nanostructure in which extremely small SnO_(2)particles are uniformly dispersed on the *** SnO_(2)/graphene nanocomposite has been shown to perform as a high capacity anode with good cycling behavior in lithium rechargeable *** anode retained a reversible capacity of 634 mA·h·g^(–1)with a coulombic efficiency of 98%after 50 *** high reversibility can be attributed to the mechanical buffering by the GNS against the large volume change of SnO_(2)during delithiation/lithiation ***,the power capability is significantly enhanced due to the nanostructure,which enables facile electron transport through the GNS and fast delithiation/lithiation reactions within the echinoid-like nano-SnO_(2).The route suggested here for the fabrication of SnO_(2)/graphene hybrid materials is a simple economical route for the preparation of other graphene-based hybrid materials which can be employed in many different fields.

Microstructural evolution and grain growth mechanism of pre-twinned magnesium alloy during annealing

The microstructural evolution and underlying grain growth mechanism of a{1012}-twin-containing Mg alloy during annealing are investigated through quasi in situ electron backscatter diffraction measurements of a rolled AZ31 alloy subjected to precompression along the rolling direction(RD).The precompressed material shows a partially twinned structure consisting of a twinned region and a residual matrix region,and this structure changes to an almost twin-free structure consisting of grown grains with serrated grain boundaries in twinand matrix-originated regions after annealing at 250℃ for 1 *** addition,the average grain size almost doubles and the internal strain energy decreases significantly after *** microstructural variations are induced mainly by grain growth through the strain-induced migration of high-angle grain boundaries without the movement of twin *** twinned region of the precompressed material has higher stored strain energy than the residual matrix region because the crystallographic orientation of the former region is favorable for basal slip and because of the occurrence of the dislocation transmutation reaction in the *** reducing the total strain energy accumulated in the precompressed material,the residual matrix region—having lower stored strain energy—preferentially grows while consuming the twinned regions formed in the surrounding grains during *** a result,the area fraction of grains with a matrix texture increases whereas that of grains with a twin texture decreases after *** twin texture intensity increases significantly and this texture becomes more concentrated along the RD because the highly RD oriented twins tend to grow during annealing on acc.unt of their fairly low stored strain energy.

This study demonstrates that the precipitation behavior of 13-Mg17Al12 phase during aging and the resultant variation in hardness and mechanical properties of cast Mg-Al-Zn alloy are strongly dependent on initial grain size. Grain size reduction accelerates discontinuous precipitation at the early stage of aging treatment by increasing the area fraction of grain boundaries that can act as nucleation sites for discontinuous precipitates （DP）, but it does not influence DP growth rate. Grain refinement also prematurely terminates continuous precipitation because the formation of a large number of DP reduces the amount of AI dissolved in the matrix, which is required for the formation of continuous precipitates （cP）. This promotion of DP formation and early termination of cP formation significantly decrease the peak-aging time to one-third. The enhanced precipitation behavior also leads to an additional hardness improvement in the aged alloy, along with an increase in hardness owing to grain boundary strengthening by grain refinement. The amount of increase in hardness changes with aging time, which is determined by the variation of three variables with aging time： DP fraction difference between refined and nonrefined alloys, hardness difference between DP and matrix, and matrix hardness difference between the two alloys. Grain refinement improves both tensile strength and ductility of the homogenized alloy owing to grain boundary strengthening and suppression of twinning activation, respectively. However, the loss of ductility after peak-aging treatment is greater in the refined alloy because of the larger amount of DP acting as a crack source in this alloy.

Alkaline hydrazine liquid fuel cells(AHFc) have been highlighted in terms of high power performance with non-precious metal *** Fe-N-c is a promising non-Pt electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),the surface density of the active site is very low and the catalyst layer should be thick to acquire the necessary number of catalytic active *** this thick catalyst layer,it is important to have an optimum pore structure for effective reactant conveyance to active sites and an interface structure for faster charge ***,we prepare a Fe-N-c catalyst with magnetite particles and hierarchical pore structure by steam *** steam activation process significantly improves the power performance of the AHFc as indicated by the lower IR and activation voltage *** on a systematic characterization,we found that hierarchical pore structures improve the catalyst utilization efficiency of the AHFcs,and magnetite nanoparticles act as surface modifiers to reduce the interracial resistance between the electrode and the ion-exchange membrane.

High-speed rolling （HSR） is known to improve the workability of Mg alloys significantly, which makes it possible to impose a large reduction in a single pass without fracture. In the present study, dynamic recrystallization （DRX） behavior and microstructural and textural variations of Mg alloy AZ31 dur-ing a HSR process were investigated by conducting rolling with different imposed reductions in the range of 20%-80% at a high rolling speed of 470 m/min and 400℃. High-strain-rate deformation during HSR suppresses dislocation slips but promotes twinning, which results in the formation of numer-ous twins of several types, i.e., {10-12} extension twins, {10-11} and {10-13} contraction twins, and {10-11}-{10-12} double twins. After twinning, high strain energy is accumulated in twin bands because their crystallographic orientations are favorable for basal slips, leading to subsequent DRX at the twin bands. Accordingly, twinning activation and twinning-induced DRX behavior play crucial roles in accommodating plastic deformation during HSR and in varying microstructure and texture of the high- speed-rolled （HSRed） sheets. Area fraction of fine DRXed grains formed at the twin bands increases with increasing rolling reduction, which is attributed to the combined effects of increased strain, strain rate, and deformation temperature and a decreased critical strain for DRX. Size, internal strain, and texture intensity of the DRXed grains are smaller than those of unDRXed grains. Therefore, as rolling reduction increases, average grain size, stored internal energy, microstructural inhomogeneity, and basal texture intensity of the HSRed sheets gradually decrease owing to an increase in the area fraction of the DRXed grains.

Semiconductor microdisk lasers have great potential as low-threshold,high-speed,and small-form-factor light sources required for photonic integrated circuits because of their high-Q factors associated with long-lived whispering gallery modes(WGMs).Despite these advantages,the rotational symmetry of the disk shape restricts practical applications of the photonic devices because of their isotropic emission,which lacks directionality in far-field emission and difficulty in free-space out *** overcome this problem,deformation of the disk cavity has been mainly ***,the approach cannot avoid significant Q degradation owing to the broken rotational ***,we first report a deformed shape microcavity laser based on transformation optics,which exploits WGMs free from Q *** deformed cavity laser was realized by a spatially varying distribution of deep-sub-wavelength-scale(60 nm diameter)nanoholes in an InGaAsP-based multi-quantum-well *** lasing threshold of our laser is one-third of that of the same shaped homogeneous laser and quite similar to that of a homogeneous microdisk *** results mean that Q spoiling caused by the boundary shape deformation is recovered by spatially varying nanohole density distribution designed by transformation optics and effective medium approximation.
