Treatment of Rucl2(PPh3)3 with 6-dimethylaminopentafulvene in THF in the presence of water produced(η5-c5H4cHO) Rucl(PPh3)2, which was reduced by NaBH4 to give the Ru–H···HO dihydrogen bonded complex(η5-c5H4cH2OH) RuH(PPh3)2. The dihydrogen bonded complex(η5-c5H4cH2OH)RuH(PPh3)2 could also be synthesized by the reduction of complex(η5-c5H4cHO)RuH(PPh3)2, which was obtained by the reaction of RuHcl(PPh3)3 with 6-dimethylaminopentafulvene in the presence of water. The analogous dihydrogen bonded osmium complex(η5-c5H4cH2OH)OsH(PPh3)2 was similarly prepared. Single crystal structures and DFT calculations support the presence of intra-molecular H···H interaction, with separations of around 1.9 to 2.0 .

Today we live in a world of Hydrocarbon Energy carriers, where carbon is always used as a carrier for Hydrogen 1) Biomass (cH1.44O0.66 or c6H12O6);2) Natural Gas [NG] (cH4);3) Water Gas [c+H2O];4) Gasoline (c6H12, c7H18, c8H18, etc.);5) Kerosene (c17H36, c18H38, c19H40, c20H42, c21H44, c22H46, etc.) and;6) crude Oil. The carbon aggregates are all storable and have worthwhile, logistically manageable energy densities. But whenever recovering Energy from the carbon molarities, cO2 gets emitted into the atmosphere, while separate use of Hydrogen Energy contents carried by the carbon moieties would just generate water vapor. Hydrogen is also the most important intermediary in Refineries, hydrogenating lower grade Hydrocarbons into higher potencies, or for removing Sulfur by the formation of Hydrogen Sulfur, that can be dissociated after its segregation from the Hydrocarbon products. But most of the internal Hydrogen yields in Refineries today is used for onsite production of Ammonia as a basis for Energy fertilizers in high performance agriculture. Because Hydrogen is awkward to store and transport, most of it is currently used captive within large size centralized plants as a reactant for producing Hydrocarbon energy carriers, using the carbon as a carrier for the Hydrogen moieties, to then be distributed over big enough areas for consumption of the such large scale plants’ volumes. With recently proven achievements of Hydrogen production from excess Wind & Solar Power by electrolysis, Hydrogen could become available in abundant quantities, to be distributed locally within the coverage area of the transmission grid such Wind & Solar installations are feeding into. In combination with carbon as a reactant such abundant Hydrogen could also be synthesized into Hydrocarbon Energy carriers and substitute fossil commodities.

In his previous book, AncestrMMemory in Early china （2011）, K. E. Brashier, a religious studies professor at Reed college, illuminated our understanding of early chinese ancestral cults and established himself as an indisputable authority on the topic. To do so, he delineated how deceased ancestors were transformed into living memory in early china, covering roughly the early Zhou to the end of the Later Han dynasty. Brashier examined a wide variety of textual records relevant to rituals and customs surrounding ancestral worship and also analyzed their cognitive aspects. Adopting the performance theory framework, he showed the interactions between the living and the dead via the practice of rituals and the psychological manipulation of the ritual performers before and during ceremonies of ancestral sacrifice. This effort also advanced discussions of the concepts of afterworld and afterlife in early china.

Surface Microstructure characterization of Sol-gel Derived Porous TiO_2 Thin Films

Porous TiO2 thin films were prepared from alkoxide solutions with and without polyethylene glycol (PEG) by sol-get route on soda lime glass, and were characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that TiO2 film prepared from precursor solution without PEG is composed of spherical particles of about 100 nm and several nanometer mesoporous pores. With the increase of the amount of PEG added to the precursor solution, the diameter and the depth of the pores in the resultant films increas on the decomposition of PEG during heat-treatment, which lead to them increase of the surface roughness of the films. XRD and TEM results show that the single anatase phase is precipitated and there are some orientation effects in (101) direction.

Superior safety of direct oral anticoagulants compared to Warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation and underlying cancer: a national veterans affairs database study

Background Studies evaluating safety of warfarin and direct oral anticoagulants(DOAcs) for prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF) are lacking. Methods & Results All patients(n = 196,521) receiving care at veteran’s affairs with active cancer and AF from 2010–2015 were included. One-year mortality was significantly higher in unadjusted analysis with warfarin(44.9%) compared to dabigatran(25%, P cancer mortality(OR = 2.66, 95% cI: 2.52–2.82, P chemic stroke(13.5% vs. 11.1%, 12.0%, 14.0%) was similar, however risk of hemorrhagic stroke was significantly higher among patients receiving warfarin(1.2%) compared to patients receiving dabigatran(0.5%), rivaroxaban(0.7%) and apixaban(0.8%) respectively, P = 0.04. conclusions We demonstrated the superior safety profile of DOAcs compared to warfarin among patients with underlying cancer and AF. Warfarin was associated with higher mortality, similar ischemic stroke risk but higher risk of hemorrhagic stroke.

A Tree-Based Data collecting Network Structure for Wireless Sensor Networks

In a sensor network with a large number of densely populated sensor nodes, a single target of interest may be detected by multiple sensor nodes simultaneously. Data collected from the sensor nodes are usually highly correlated, and hence energy saving using in-network data fusion becomes possible. A traditional data fusion scheme starts with dividing the network into clusters, followed by electing a sensor node as cluster head in each cluster. A cluster head is responsible for collecting data from all its cluster members, performing data fusion on these data and transmitting the fused data to the base station. Assuming that a sensor node is only capable of handling a single node-to-node transmission at a time and each transmission takes T time-slots, a cluster head with n cluster members will take at least nT time-slots to collect data from all its cluster members. In this paper, a tree-based network structure and its formation algorithms are proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed network structure can greatly reduce the delay in data collection.
