Genetic Algorithm Neural Network(GANN)for multi-class was used to predict the ripeness grades of oil palm fresh fruit using Near Infrared(NIR)spectral *** spectral data provide sufficient information about compound structure of samples from the near infrared light that passes *** variables used in the GANN modeling process were the new variables obtained as a result of dimensional reduction from original NIR spectral data using Principal component Analysis(PcA).Three statistical measures such asMean Absolute Error(MAE),root Mean Squared Error(RMSE)and the percentage(%)of good classification were used to assess adequacy of the GANN *** on the results,the GANN model created was precise enough to be used as the model calibration for this multi-class problem.

Estimation of tunnel diameter convergence is a very important issue for tunneling construction,especially when the new Austrian tunneling method（NATM） is *** this purpose,a systematic convergence measurement is usually implemented to adjust the design during the whole construction,and consequently deadly hazards can be *** this study,a new fuzzy model capable of predicting the diameter convergences of a high-speed railway tunnel was developed on the basis of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system（ANFIS） *** proposed model used more than 1 000 datasets collected from two different tunnels,*** tunnel No.2 and Yaojia tunnel No.1,which are part of a tunnel located in Hunan Province,*** Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy inference systems were constructed by using subtractive clustering *** data obtained from Daguan tunnel No.2 were used for model training,while the data from Yaojia tunnel No.1 were employed to evaluate the performance of the *** input parameters include surrounding rock masses（SRM） rating index,ground engineering conditions（GEc） rating index,tunnel overburden（H）,rock density（？）,distance between monitoring station and working face（D）,and elapsed time（T）.The model’s performance was assessed by the variance account for（VAF）,root mean square error（RMSE）,mean absolute percentage error（MAPE） as well as the coefficient of determination（R2） between measured and predicted data as recommended by many *** results showed excellent prediction accuracy and it was suggested that the proposed model can be used to estimate the tunnel convergence and convergence velocity.

crossing certain aridity thresholds in global drylands can lead to abrupt decays of ecosystem attributes such as plant productivity, potentially causing land degradation and desertification. It is largely unknown,however, whether these thresholds can be altered by other key global change drivers known to affect the water-use efficiency and productivity of vegetation, such as elevated cO2and nitrogen(N). Using >5000 empirical measurements of plant biomass, we showed that crossing an aridity(1–precipitation/potential evapotranspiration) threshold of ～0.50, which marks the transition from dry sub-humid to semi-arid climates, led to abrupt declines in aboveground biomass(AGB) and progressive increases in root:shoot ratios, thus importantly affecting carbon stocks and their distribution. N addition significantly increased AGB and delayed the emergence of its aridity threshold from 0.49 to 0.55(P coupling remote sensing estimates of leaf area index with simulations from multiple models, we found that cO2enrichment did not alter the observed aridity threshold. By 2100, and under the RcP 8.5 scenario, we forecast a 0.3% net increase in the global land area exceeding the aridity threshold detected under a scenario that includes N deposition, in comparison to a 2.9% net increase if the N effect is not considered. Our study thus indicates that N addition could mitigate to a great extent the negative impact of increasing aridity on plant biomass in drylands. These findings are critical for improving forecasts of abrupt vegetation changes in response to ongoing global environmental change.

In recent years,there has been a significant surge in demand for electric vehicles(EVs),necessitating accurate prediction of EV charging *** prediction plays a crucial role in evaluating its impact on the power grid,encompassing power management and peak demand *** this paper,a novel deep neural network based onα^(2)-LSTM is proposed to predict the demand for charging from electric vehicles at a 15-minute time ***,we employ AES-128 for station quantization and secure communication with *** proposed algorithm achieves a 9.2%reduction in both the root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and the mean absolute error compared to LSTM,along with a 13.01%increase in demand *** present a 12-month prediction of EV charging demand at charging stations,accompanied by an effective comparative analysis of Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE)and Mean Percentage Error(MPE)over the last five years using our proposed *** prediction analysis has been conducted using Python programming.

Both matrix biochemistry and neurotrophic factors are known to modulate neurite outgrowth and pathifnding; however, the interplay between these two factors is less studied. While previous work has shown that the biochemical identity of the matrix can alter the outgrowth of neurites in response to neurotrophins, the importance of the concentration of cell-adhesive ligands is unknown. Using engineered elastin-like protein matrices, we recently demonstrated a synergistic effect between matrix-bound cell-adhesive ligand density and soluble nerve growth factor treat-ment on neurite outgrowth from dorsal root ganglia. This synergism was mediated by Schwann cell-neurite contact through L1cAM. cell-adhesive ligand density was also shown to alter the pathifnding behavior of dorsal root ganglion neurites in response to a gradient of nerve growth factor. While more cell-adhesive matrices promoted neurite outgrowth, less cell-adhesive ma-trices promoted more faithful neurite pathifnding. These studies emphasize the importance of considering both matrix biochemistry and neurotrophic factors when designing biomaterials for peripheral nerve regeneration.

In non-cyanogenic species, the main source of cyanide derives from ethylene and camalexin biosyntheses. In mitochondria, cyanide is a potent inhibitor of the cytochrome c oxidase and is metabolized by the β-cyanoalanine synthase cYS-c1, catalyzing the conversion of cysteine and cyanide to hydrogen sulfide and β-cyanoalanine. The hydrogen sulfide released also inhibits the cytochrome c oxidase and needs to be detoxified by the O-acetylserine（thiol）lyase mitochondrial isoform, OAS-c, which catalyzes the incorporation of sulfide to O-acetylserine to produce cysteine, thus generating a cyclic pathway in the mitochondria. The loss of functional OAS-c isoforms causes phenotypic characteristics very similar to the loss of the cYS-c1 enzyme, showing defects in root hair formation. Genetic complementation with the OAS-cgene rescues the impairment of root hair elongation, restoring the wild-type phenotype. The mitochondria compromise their capacity to properly detoxify cyanide and the resulting sulfide because the latter cannot re-assimilate into cysteine in the oas-c null mutant. consequently, we observe an accumulation of sulfide and cyanide and of the alternative oxidase, which is unable to prevent the production of reactive oxygen species probably due to the accumulation of both toxic molecules. Our results allow us to suggest that the significance of OAS-c is related to its role in the proper sulfide and cyanide detoxification in mitochondria.

Sap mixtures of the xylem, phloem, and vacuoles from low and high cd accumulator varieties of Brassica parachinensis L. H. Bailey were analyzed under cd stress to understand the biochemical mechanisms of cd accumulation in plants. Low cd accumulator ('Teqing-60') and high cd accumulator ('chixin-2') plants were grown in cd-treated soil in pots in a greenhouse. Percentage of cell wall-bound cd was estimated. pH level and the concentrations of amino acids, organic acids, anions, and cations in both stem and root saps were determined for the calculation of cd speciations using the computer program GEOcHEM. The results showed that 'Teqing-60' had a significantly higher (P≤0.05) percentage of cd bound to cell walls in roots and a significantly higher (P≤0.05) pH in the root sap. 'Teqing-60' also contained a higher concentration of total amino acids in both roots and stems compared with the high cd accumulator variety 'chixin-2'. However, between the two accumulators, for stems and for roots, there were no significant differences in non-amino organic acids. GEOcHEM calculations showed that cd in the root sap of 'Teqing-60' mainly combined with amino acids, especially alanine. compared with 'chixin-2', in the root sap of 'Teqing-60', much lower levels of cd as free ions or bound to simple ligands were found, indicating that less 'Teqing-60' is transferred to stems and leaves. cadmium activity in the shoot sap of 'Teqing-60' was much lower than that in 'chixin-2'; therefore, 'Teqing-60' exhibited higher cd resistance. However, direct determination of the cd complexes from xylem and phloem sap is needed to verify these results.

In light of the growing integration of renewable energy sources in power systems,the adoption of Dc microgrids has become increasingly popular,due to its simple structure,having no frequency,power factor ***,the dependence of Dc microgrids on cyber-networks also makes them susceptible to *** cyberattacks can disrupt power system facilities and result in significant economic and loss of *** address this concern,this paper presents an attack-resilient control strategy for microgrids to ensure voltage regulation and power sharing with stable operation under cyber-attack on the *** paper first formulates the cyber-security problem considering a distributed generation based microgrid using the converter model,after which an attack-resilient control is proposed to eliminate the actuator attack impact on the *** state analysis and root locus validation illustrate the feasibility of the proposed *** effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated through simulation results.

Nutrients are distributed unevenly in the *** plasticity in root growth and proliferation may enable plants to cope with this variation and effectively forage for essential nutrients. However, how micronutrients shape root architecture of plants in their natural environments is poorly understood. We used a combination of field and laboratory-based assays to determine the capacity of Nicotiana attenuata to direct root growth towards localized nutrient patches in its native environment. Plants growing in nature displayed a particular root phenotype consisting of a single primary root and a few long, shallow lateral roots. Analysis of bulk soil surrounding the lateral roots revealed a strong positive correlation between lateral root placement and micronutrient gradients, including copper, iron and zinc. In laboratory assays, the application of localized micronutrient salts close to lateral root tips led to roots bending in the direction of copper and iron. This form of chemotropism was absent in ethylene and jasmonic acid deficient lines,suggesting that it is controlled in part by these two hormones. This work demonstrates that directed root growth underlies foraging behavior, and suggests that chemotropism and micronutrient-guided root placement are important factors that shape root architecture in nature.
