Since its inception,the Internet has been rapidly *** the advancement of science and technology and the explosive growth of the population,the demand for the Internet has been on the *** applications in education,healthcare,entertainment,science,and more are being increasingly deployed based on the ***,malicious threats on the internet are on the rise as *** Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks are among the most common and dangerous threats on the internet *** scale and complexity of DDoS attacks are constantly *** Detection Systems(IDS)have been deployed and have demonstrated their effectiveness in defense against those *** addition,the research of Mac.ine Learning(ML)and Deep Learning(DL)in IDS has gained effective results and significant ***,one of the challenges when applying ML and DL techniques in intrusion detection is the identification of unknown *** attacks,which are not encountered during the system’s training,can lead to misclassification with significant *** this research,we focused on addressing the issue of Unknown Attack Detection,combining two methods:Spatial Location constraint Prototype Loss(SLcPL)and Fuzzy c-Means(FcM).With the proposed method,we achieved promising results compared to traditional *** proposed method demonstrates a very high accuracy of up to 99.8%with a low false positive rate for known attacks on the Intrusion Detection Evaluation Dataset(cIcIDS2017)***,the accuracy is also very high,reac.ing 99.7%,and the precision goes up to 99.9%for unknown DDoS attacks on the DDoS Evaluation Dataset(cIcDDoS2019)*** success of the proposed method is due to the combination of SLcPL,an advanced Open-Set Recognition(OSR)technique,and FcM,a traditional yet highly applicable clustering *** has yielded a novel method in the field of unknown attack *** further expands the trend of applying DL and M

Effects of lactic acid bacteria isolated from fermented mustard on lowering cholesterol

Objective:To evaluate the ability of lactic acid bacteria(LAB)strains isolated from fermented mustard to lower the cholesterol in ***:The ability of 50 LAB strains isolated from fermented mustard on lowering cholesterol in vitro was determined by modified o-phtshalaldehyde *** LAB isolates were analyzed for their resistance to acid and bile *** with lowering cholesterol activity,were determined adherence to caco-2 ***:Strain B0007,B0006 and B0022 assimilated more cholesterol than BcRc10474 and *** isolated strains showed tolerance to pH 3.0 for 3h despite variations in the degree of viability and bile-tolerant strains,with more than 10~s cFU/mL after incubation for 24 h at 1%oxigall in *** addition,strain B0007 and B0022 identified as Lactobacillus plantarum with 16S rDNA sequences were able to adhere to the caco-2 cell ***:These strains B0007 and B0022 may be potential functional sources for cholesterollowering activities as well as adhering to caco-2 cell lines.

Variability in rainfall threshold for debris flow after the chi-chi earthquake in central Taiwan,c.ina

The purpose of this study is to analyze variability in rainfall threshold for debris flow(critical rainfall for debris flow triggering) after the ML 7.3 chi-chi earthquake in central Taiwan in 1999. Two study sites with different geological conditions were surveyed in the earthquake area. Streambed surveys were conducted to continuously monitor debris flows between 1999 and 2006. During the 7-year study period,every debris flow event was identified,and the streambed characterized. Results show that the rainfall threshold for debris flow was remarkably lower just after the chi-chi Earthquake,but gradually recovered. To date,this rainfall threshold is still lower than the original level prior to the earthquake. This variability in rainfall threshold is closely related to the amount of sediment material in the initiation area of debris flow,which increased rapidly due to landslides resulting from the earthquake. With the increase in sediment material,the rainfall threshold was lowered severely during the first year following the chi-chi earthquake. However,heavy rainfalls mobilized the sediment material,causing debris flows and transporting sediment downstream. With the decrease in sediment material,the rainfall threshold recovered gradually over time. Furthermore,debris flows occurred only in the subbasins that had sufficient sediment material to cause significant movement. Hence,these results confirm that the sediment material in the initiation area of debris flow is a crucial component of the rainfall threshold for debris flow.

PREMIXED FLAME AND DISTORTION OF HOMOGENEOUS ISOTROPIc TURBULENcE

A new concept of the length scale characterizing the thickness of a chemical reaction zone is introduced. A new formula of propagation velocity for the turbulent flame is obtained. Then the relation of the thickness of flame zone increasingw ith the ratio τ of the heat release to the initial heat content is derived. Besides, a new velocity-pressure correlation is presented, and the mechanism of the increase in the turbulence energy in the zone of premixed turbulent flame is clarified. This draws an interest conclusion on the distortion of homogeneous isotropic turbulence.

Hydro-mechanical response with respect to the air ventilation for water filtration in homogeneous soil

When water penetrates into soil,interstitial air can become trapped by the infiltrating *** the effect of air ventilation could cause deviations in the predicted pore water pressure and the associated effective *** study aims at the effect of air ventilation on the coupled hydro-mechanical responses in homogeneous soil during infiltration.A schematic concept of infiltration conditions(open-and closed-valve)in homogeneous soil is proposed for investigating their impacts on the pore water pressure and effective *** of vertical soil column filled with Ottawa sand(ASTM c77820/30)were designed for two types of air ventilation(namely,open and closed infiltration).The evolution of pore water pressure at the cylinder bottom was recorded,and served as a benchmark problem for evaluating the coupled hydro-mechanical *** with the commercial software,GeoStudio,was employed for the dynamic behaviors of pore-water and-air pressures as well as the evolving effective *** was found in both the experiments and numerical investigations that the infiltration condition plays a crucial role for the ascending rate of pore water pressure as well as the associated effective *** results illustrate the inevitable impacts of the air ventilation conditions on the mechanical properties of the soil during infiltration.

An analytic closed-form based loop compensator for direct current-direct current （Dc-Dc） buckboost converter in discontinuous conduction with peak current-mode control is proposed to increase efficiency of the desired process through systemization. As a result, the process saves a lot of computation time that can be translated into design cost savings. Finally, the output voltage regulation in the presence of audio susceptibility and output impedance is shown for verifying.

Why total knees fail-A modern perspective review

Historically, the most common mechanism of total kneearthroplasty(TKA) failures included aseptic loosening, instability and malalignment. As polyethylene production improved, modes of failure from polyethylene wear and subsequent osteolysis became less prevalent. Newer longitudinal studies report that infection has become the primary acute cause of failure with loosening and instability remaining as the overall greatest reasons for revision. c.inical database and worldwide national registries confirm these reports. With an increasing amount of TKA operations performed in the United States, and with focus on value-based healthcare, it is imperative to understand why total knees fail.

Effects of ethanol on antioxidant capacity in isolated rat hepatocytes

AIM： To investigate dose-response and time-course of the effects of ethanol on the cell viability and antioxidant capacity in isolated rat hepatocytes. METHODS： Hepatocytes were isolated from male adult Wistar rats and seeded into 100-mm dishes. Hepatocytes were treated with ethanol at concentrations between 0 （c）, 10 （E10）, 50 （E50）, and 100 （E100） mmol/L （dose response） for 12, 24, and 36 h （time course）. Then, lactate dehydrogenase （LDH） leakage, malondialdehyde （IDA） concentration, glutathione （GSH） level, and activities of glutathione peroxidase （GPX）, glutathione reductase （GRD）, superoxide dismutase （SOD）, and catalase （cAT） were measured. RESULTS： Our data revealed that LDH leakage was significantly increased by about 30% in group E100 over those in groups c and E10 at 24 and 36 h, The HDA concentration in groups c, E10 and E50 were significantly lower than that in group E100 at 36 h. Furthermore, the concentration of IDA in group E100 at 36 h was significantly higher by 4.5- and 1.7-fold, respectively, than that at 12 and 24 h. On the other hand, the GSH level in group E100 at 24 and 36 h was significantly decreased, by 32% and 28%, respectively, compared to that at 12 h. The activities of GRD and cAT in group E100 at 36 h were significantly less than those in groups c and E10. However, The GPX and SOD activities showed no significant change in each group. cONcLUSION： These results suggest that longtime incubation with higher concentration of ethanol （100 mmol/L） decreased the cell viability by means of reducing GRD and cAT activities and increasing lipid peroxidation.
