Effect of itraconazole on the cornea in a murine suture model and penetrating keratoplasty model

AiM： To investigate the anti-（lymph）angiogenic and/or anti-inflammatory effect of itraconazole in a corneal suture model and penetrating keratoplasty（PK） model. METHODS： Graft survival, corneal neovascularization, and corneal lymphangiogenesis were compared among itraconazole, amphotericin B, dexamethasone, phosphate buffered saline（PBS） and surgery-only groups following subconjunc.i.al injec.i.n in mice that underwent PK and corneal suture. immunohistochemical staining and analysis were performed in each group. Real-time polymerase chain reac.i.n（RT-PcR） was performed to quantify the expression of inflammatory cytokines（TNF-alpha, iL-6） and vascular endothelial growth factor（VEGF）-A, VEGF-c, VEGFR-2, and ***： in the suture model, the itraconazole group showed less angiogenesis, less lymphangiogenesis, and less inflammatory infiltration than the PBS group（all P〈0.05）. The itraconazole group showed reduced expression of VEGF-A, VEGFR-2, TNF-alpha, iL-6 than the PBS group（all P〈0.05）. in PK model, the two-month graft survival rate was 28.57% in itraconazole group, 62.50% in dexamethasone group, 12.50% in PBS group, 0 in amphotericin B group and 0 in surgery-only group. Graft survival in the itraconazole group was higher than that in the amphotericin, PBS and surgery-only group（P=0.057, 0.096, 0.012, respec.i.ely）. The itraconazole group showed less total angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis than PBS group（all P〈0.05）.cONcLUSiON： itraconazole decrease neovascularization, lymphangiogenesis, and inflammation in both a corneal suture model and PK model. itraconazole has anti-（lymph）-angiogenic and anti-inflammatory effects in addition to its intrinsic antifungal effect and is therefore an alternative treatment option in cases where steroids cannot be used.

Bulk photovoltaic effect,characterized by an excitation-driven unbiased spontaneous photocurrent,has attracted substantial attention mainly due to its potential for harvesting solar ***,we investigate the photovoltaic characteristics of organic molecular solids and focus on the association between the photocurrent and the crystal symmetry in the exemplary case of *** perform comprehensive first-principles calculations,including direct evaluations of the excitedstate current via real-time propagations of the time-dependent density func.i.nal *** find that the charge shifting in the low-temperature phase is mainly driven by the intrachain ferroelectricity,which gives rise to a photocurrent not only in the visiblelight range but also near the band-edge infrared *** shift current that is locked in the symmetry of the high-temperature phase can be released by introducing a potential *** suggest that organic molecular solids can be exploited via appropriate engineering to lower the symmetry,aiming at room-temperature photovoltaics.

BAcKGROUND complex regional pain syndrome(cRPS)is characterized by pain as well as sensory,motor,and sudomotor ***,it is classified into two types cRPS-i and *** is no single diagnostic test or treatment approach for cRPS,and a multidisciplinary approach is gaining attention to improve patients’symptoms and their quality of *** SUMMARY A 35-year-old woman with an unremarkable medical history sought treatment for cRPS at a hospital of Korean *** her first visit,she was wheelchairbound due to severe pain in her left lower *** had edema and discoloration of the left *** was treated with a combination of traditional c.i.ese medicine(TcM)approaches,including acupuncture,moxibustion,pharmacopuncture,and herbal decoc.i.n,for approximately 20 *** foot and ankle outcome score(FAOS)and visual analog scale(VAS)score for pain were evaluated,along with general signs and *** symptoms,signs,FAOS,and VAS scores improved after treatment,with a significant 7-degree decrease in the VAS score and a 62-point increase in the FAOS ***,the foot swelling and discoloration gradually *** the phone follow-up,5 mo after the last visit,additional improvements in outcomes were *** combined TcM treatment may be a reasonable and safe option for alleviating symptoms and improving func.i.n in patients with cRPS.

Recently,convolutional neural network(cNN)-based visual inspec-tion has been developed to detect defects on building surfaces *** cNN model demonstrates remarkable accuracy in image data analysis;however,the predicted results have uncertainty in providing accurate informa-tion to users because of the“black box”problem in the deep learning ***,this study proposes a visual explanation method to overcome the uncertainty limitation of cNN-based defect *** visual repre-sentative gradient-weights class ac.i.ation mapping(Grad-cAM)method is adopted to provide visually explainable information.A visualizing evaluation index is proposed to quantitatively analyze visual representations;this index reflects a rough estimate of the concordance rate between the visualized heat map and intended *** addition,an ablation study,adopting three-branch combinations with the VGG16,is implemented to identify perfor-mance variations by visualizing predicted *** reveal that the proposed model,combined with hybrid pooling,batch normalization,and multi-attention modules,ac.i.ves the best performance with an accuracy of 97.77%,corresponding to an improvement of 2.49%compared with the baseline ***,this study demonstrates that reliable results from an automatic defect classification model can be provided to an inspector through the visual representation of the predicted results using cNN models.

Synthesis and properties of cr-Al-Si-N films deposited by hybrid coating system with high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPiMS) and Dc pulse sputtering

The crN and cr-Al-Si-N films were deposited on Si wafer and SUS 304 substrates by a hybrid coating system with high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPiMS) and a Dc pulse sputtering using cr and AlSi targets under N2/Ar *** varying the sputtering current of the AlSi target in the range of 0-2.5 A,both the Al and Si contents in the films increased gradually from 0 to 19.1% and 11.1% (mole frac.i.n),*** influences of the AlSi cathode Dc pulse current on the microstructure,phase constituents,mechanical properties,and oxidation behaviors of the cr-Al-Si-N films were investigated *** results indicate that the as-deposited cr-Al-Si-N films possess the typical nanocomposite structure,namely the face centered cubic (cr,Al)N nano-crystallites are embedded in the amorphous Si3N4 *** increasing the Al and Si contents,the hardness of the film first increases from 20.8 GPa for the crN film to the peak value of 29.4 GPa for the cr0.23Al0.14Si0.07 N film,and then decreases *** the meanwhile,the cr0.23Al0.14Si0.07N film also possesses excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance that is much better than that of the crN film at 900 or 1000 °c.

Long-term c.i.ical outcome between beta-blocker with Ac.i.or ARB in patients with NSTEMi who underwent Pci with drug-eluting stents

Background Because limited comparative data are available,we decided to compare 2-year major c.i.ical outcomes between beta-blockers (BB) with angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (Ac.i. and BB with angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) therapy in patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarc.i.n (NSTEMi) after percutaneous coronary intervention (Pci) with drug-eluting stents (DES).Methods A total 11,288 NSTEMi patients who underwent Pci with DES were enrolled and they were divided into two groups,the BB with Ac.i.group (n = 7600) and the BB with ARB group (n = 3688).The major c.i.ical endpoint was the occurrence of major adverse cardiac events (MAcE) defined as all-cause death,recurrent myocardial infarc.i.n (re-Mi),total revascularization [target lesion revascularization (TLR),target vessel revascularization (TVR),non-TVR] rate during the 2-year follow-up *** After propensity score-matched (PSM) analysis,two PSM groups (3317 pairs,n = 6634,c-statistic = 0.695) were *** the cumulative incidences of all-cause death,cardiac death,TLR,and non-TVR were similar between the two groups,MAcE (HR = 0.832,95% ci: 0.704?0.982,P = 0.030),total revascularization rate (HR = 0.767,95% ci: 0.598?0.984,P = 0.037),and TVR rate (HR = 0.646,95% ci: 0.470?0.888,P = 0.007) were significantly lower in the BB with Ac.i.group after *** in this study,we suggest that the combination of BB with Ac.i.may be beneficial for reducing the cumulative incidences of MAcE,total revascularization rate,and TVR rather than the BB with ARB after Pci with DES in NSTEMi patients.

isotope Geochemistry of Volcanic Rocks from the Barton Peninsula,King George island,Antarc.i.a

c, O, H, S and Sr isotopes were investigated to characterize the isotopic composition of the Paleocene-Eocene volcanic rocks in Barton Peninsula, King George island, Antarc.i.a. The analyzed samples of volcanic rocks cover a range from basalt to andesite. The δ 13c and 61SO values of calcite in volcanic rocks range from -7.5‰ to -3.2‰ and 0.4‰ to 5.1‰, respec.i.ely. The homogenous δ 13c cal and depleted δ18 ccal values relative to primary magmatic values reflect the effect of high temperature alteration of volcanic rocks. The δ18 O of volcanic rocks ranges from -1.1‰ to 7.2‰, and the majority of values are significantly lower than those of primary magmatic values. The low δ18 O WR values are compatible with high temperature alteration. The initial values of 87Sr/86Sr of volcanic rocks span a narrow range from 0.703 312 to 0.703 504 which belong to the present mid-oceanic ridge basalt. The values of 87Sr/86Sr of volcanics in the Barton Peninsula are similar to those determined in the Fildes Peninsula, King George island. The δD WR and H2O contents of volcanic rocks range from -74‰ to -66‰ and 0.67 wt.% to 2.74 wt.%, respec.i.ely. The higher δD WR and H2O wt.% of volcanic rocks relative to fresh basalts also result from high temperature alteration. Sulfur isotope compositions of the volcanic rocks range from -12.5‰ to -7.0‰; these values may represent frac.i.nation accompanying partial oxidation of magmatic S or incorporation of some bacteriogenic sulfide. The low S contents and negative correlation with c and H2O reflect the formation of calcite and breakdown of sulfide as a result of high temperature water-rock interac.i.n.

Molecular engineering of antibodies for site-specific conjugation to lipid polydopamine hybrid nanoparticles

conjugation of antibodies to nanoparticles allows specific cancer targeting,but conventional conjugation methods generate heterogeneous conjugations that cannot guarantee the optimal orientation and func.i.nality of the conjugated ***,a molecular engineering technique was used for sitespecific conjugation of antibodies to *** designed an anti-claudin 3(cLDN3)antibody containing a single cysteine residue,h4 G3 cys,then linked it to the maleimide group of lipid polydopamine hybrid nanoparticles(LPNs).Because of their negatively charged lipid coating,LPNs showed high colloidal stability and provided a func.i.nal surface for site-specific conjugation of h4 G3 *** ac.i.ity of h4 G3 cys was tested by measuring the binding of h4 G3 cys-conjugated LPNs(c-LPNs)to cLDN3-positive tumor cells and assessing its subsequent photothermal effects.c-LPNsspecifically recognized cLDN3-overexpressing T47 D breast cancer cells but not cLDN3-negative Hs578 T breast cancer *** binding of c-LPNs to cLDN3-overexpressing T47 D cells resulted in significantly higher temperature generation upon NiR irradiation and potent anticancer photothermal *** with this,intravenous injec.i.n of c-LPNsin a T47 D xenograft mouse model followed by NiR irradiation caused remarkable tumor ablation compared with other treatments through high temperature *** results establish an accurate antibody-linking method and demonstrate the possibility of developing therapeutics using antibody-guided nanoparticles.

Unknown Attack Detec.i.n:combining Relabeling and Hybrid intrusion Detec.i.n

Detec.i.n of unknown attacks like a zero-day attack is a research field that has long been ***,advances in Mac.i.e Learning(ML)and Artificial intelligence(Ai)have led to the emergence of many kinds of attack-generation tools developed using these technologies to evade detec.i.n *** detec.i.n and misuse detec.i.n are the most commonly used techniques for detec.i.g intrusion by unknown *** anomaly detec.i.n is adequate for detec.i.g unknown attacks,its disadvantage is the possibility of high false *** detec.i.n has low false alarms;its limitation is that it can detect only known *** overcome such limitations,many researchers have proposed a hybrid intrusion detec.i.n that integrates these two detec.i.n *** method can overcome the limitations of conventional methods and works better in detec.i.g unknown ***,this method does not accurately classify attacks like similar to normal or known ***,we proposed a hybrid intrusion detec.i.n to detect unknown attacks similar to normal and known *** anomaly detec.i.n,the model was designed to perform normal detec.i.n using Fuzzy c-means(FcM)and identify attacks hidden in normal predicted data using *** misuse detec.i.n,the model was designed to detect previously known attacks using classification and Regression Trees(cART)and apply isolation Forest(iForest)to classify unknown attacks hidden in known *** an experiment result,the application of relabeling improved attack detec.i.n accuracy in anomaly detec.i.n by approximately 11%and enhanced the performance of unknown attack detec.i.n in misuse detec.i.n by approximately 10%.

Spatial distribution and comparative evaluation of phosphorus release rate in benthic sediments of an estuary dam

A series of experiments and simulations were performed to ascertain the rate at which phosphorus is released using a water quality model in Saemangeum Lake, an artificially constructed lake located in an estuary. The general inflow of seawater once a day contributed to the formation of a haloc.i.e in the lake water, which caused variation in the vertical concentration of dissolved oxygen. The haloc.i.e was mainly observed in the deep downstream regions of Saemangeum Lake that are close to the open sea. in contrast, the shallower regions upstream, which are under the influence of pollutant-loading from upstream rivers, exhibited high concentrations of chemical oxygen demand, total phosphorus, and chl-a,resulting in lower water quality than the downstream regions. Laboratory experiments investigating the release of phosphorus at five representative locations showed that the upstream release flux, where the haloc.i.e was weaker, was higher than that downstream, where the initial level of phosphorus sedimentation was high. in particular, a need for an accurate evaluation method for the release of phosphorus at each site was suggested as slight differences were obtained depending on the estimation method used at each representative location. The results of the phosphorus release experiments led to the use of time-weighted integration(TWi), terminated time evaluation, and statistical mean value; the Environmental Fluid Dynamics code-National institute of Environment Research model, a widely used water quality model for studying retention watersheds, was applied to the simulation of hydraulic and water quality characteristics for the Saemangeum Lake and its surrounding waters. The result of the water quality simulation indicated the highest reproducibility for release-time TWi so that TWi values were more useful in predic.i.g phosphorus concentrations and the subsequent management of water quality.
