The development of biotechnology-based active pharmaceutical ingredients, such as GLP-1 analogs, brought changes in type 2 diabetes treatment options. For better therapeutic efficiency, these active pharmaceutical ingredients require appropriate administration, without the development of adverse effects or toxicity. Therefore, it is required to develop several quantification methods for GLP-1 analogs products, in order to achieve the therapeutic goals, among which ELISA and HPLc arise. These methods are developed, optimized and validated in order to determine GLP-1 analogs, not only in final formulation of the active pharmaceutical ingredient, but also during preclinical and clinical trials assessment. This review highlights the role of ELISA and HPLc methods that have been used during the assessment for GLP-1 analogs, especially for exenatide.

Hack's law of debris-flow basins

Hack’s law was originally derived from basin statistics for varied spatial scales and regions. The exponent value of the law has been shown to vary between 0.47 and 0.70,causing uncertainty in its application. This paper focuses on the emergence of Hack’s law from debris-flow basins in china. Over 5,000 debris-flow basins in different regions of china with drainage areas less than 100km2 are included in this study. Basins in the different regions are found to present similar distributions. Hack’s law is derived from maximum probability and conditional distributions,suggesting that the law should describe some critical state of basin evolution. results suggest the exponent value is approximately 0.5. Further analysis indicates that Hack’s law is related to other scaling laws underlying the evolution of a basin and that the exponent is not dependent on basin shape but rather on the evolutionary stage. A case study of a well known debris-flow basin further confirms Hack’s law and its implications in basin evolution.

L-asparaginase production by mangrove derived Bacillus cereus MAB5:optimization by response surface methodology

Objective:To isolate marine bacteria,statistically optimize them for maximum asparaginase ***:In the present study,statistically based experimental designs were applied to maximize the production of L-asparaginase from bacterial strain of Bacillus cereus（***） MAB5（HQ675025） isolated and identified by 16S rDNA sequencing from mangroves rhizosphere ***:Plackett-Barman design was used to identify the interactive effect of the eight variables *** extract,soyabean meal,glucose,magnesium sulphate,KH2PO4,wood chips,aspargine and sodium *** the variables are denoted as numerical factors and investigated at two widely spaced intervals designated as -1（low level） and +1（high level）. The effect of individual parameters on L-asparaginase production was *** meal,aspargine,wood chips and sodium chloride were found to be the significant among eight *** maximum amount of L-asparaginase produced（51.54 IU/mL） from the optimized medium containing soyabean meal（6.282 8 g/L）,aspargine（5.5 g/L）,wood chips（1.383 8 g/L） and Nacl（4.535 4 g/L）.conclusions:The study revealed that,it is useful to produce the maximum amount of L-asparaginase from *** MAB5 for the treatment of various infections and diseases.

Wave propagation at interface of heat conducting micropolar solid and fluid media

The present investigation is concerned with the wave propagation at an interface of a micropolar generalized thermoelastic solid half space and a heat conducting micropolar fluid half space. reflection and transmission phenomena of plane waves are investigated, which impinge obliquely at the plane interface between a micropolar generalized thermoelastic solid half space and a heat conducting micropolar fluid half space. The incident wave is assumed to be striking at the interface after propagating through the micropolar generalized thermoelastic solid. The amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are obtained in a closed form. It is found that they are a function of the angle of incidence and frequency and are affected by the elastic properties of the media. Micropolarity and thermal relaxation effects are shown on the amplitude ratios for a specific model. The results of some earlier literatures are also deduced from the present investigation.

Laboratory tests to study the influence of rock stress confinement on the performances of TBM discs in tunnels

To clarify some aspects of rock destruction with a disc acting on a high confined tunnel face, a series of tests were carried out to examine fracture mechanisms under an indenter that simulates the tunnel boring machine （TBM） tool action, in the presence of an adjacent groove, when a state of stress （lateral confinement） is imposed on a rock sample. These tests proved the importance of carefully establishing the optimal distance of grooves produced by discs acting on a confined surface, and the value （as a mere order of magnitude） of the increase of the thrust to produce the initiation of chip formation, as long as the confinement pressure becomes greater.
