We propose and demonstrate a passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL)based on zinc-oxide/polydimethylsiloxane(ZnO/PDMs)saturable absorber(sA)that evanescently interacts with the light on a tapered *** ZnO/PDMs composite is coated on the whole surface of the tapered fiber to guarantee the maximum efficiency of the sA device,with a measured insertion loss of 0.87 dB and a modulation depth of 6.4%.The proposed laser can generate soliton mode-locking operation at a threshold power of 33.07 *** generated output pulse yields a repetition rate and pulse width of 9.77 MHz and 1.03 ps,*** results indicate that the proposed ZnO/PDMs-clad tapered fiber could be useful as an efficient,compatible,and low-cost sA device for ultrafast laser applications.

An one-year of sampling aerosol program was carried out during the period of April 1995 to April 1996 at coastal region, cape D′Aguilar, in Hong Kong. The trace element composition of aerosol particles(TsP and PM 10 ) were measured and analyzed by using the Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis(INAA) and Inductive couple Plasma-Mass spectrometry(IcP-Ms) techniques. The results showed that the polluted elements such as: V, Zn, As, Pb, cd, sb, I, se, Bi, with high enrichment factor(E.F) values, are derived from anthropogenic sources, while sc, Al, Fe, Mn, sm, La, sr are less than 10 in E.F, these elements are related the crust and soil. The concentration of the trace elements are present seasonal variation i.e. summer low and winter high, whereas the V or noncrustal V(V *) present summer high and winter low, this phenomenon might be explained by local or regional oil combustion sources. Use three type of elemental ratio, e.g. La/sm, Mn */V * and Bi/Al indicate that both TsP and PM 10 of La/sm ratios are mainly related to soil and dust, Mn */V * are probably represent fossil combustion and Bi/Al are possibly associated with refuse incineration, ferromanganese alloys and aluminum production. The varimax rotation factor analysis for trace elements was performed. By means of the absolute principal component analysis(APcA) and multiple regression, the contribution of trace elements to possible sources and overall means of trace elements were estimated. The results showed that the present station is impacted by the anthropogenic species, although the quantities are different during the summertime and wintertime.

A case of retained intralenticular iron piece with signs of mild anterior uveitis at the time of presentation is reported in a 45 year-old man. His vision improved with topical cycloplegics and corticosteroids. After six months, his vision deteriorated grossly due to cataract formation. He regained good vision following removal of foreign body, extracapsular extraction with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation. This case highlights the conservative management of the condition till the patient develops cataract resulting in visual disability; and good visual recovery following cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation.

The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) graphene-polydimethylsiloxane (PDMs) nanofluid flow between two squeezing parallel plates in the presence of thermal radiation effects is investigated. The energy efficiency of the system via the Bejan number is studied extensively. The governing partial differential equations are converted by using the similarity transformations into a set of coupled ordinary differential equations. The set of these converted equations is solved by using the differential transform method (DTM). The entropy generation in terms of the Bejan number, the coefficient of skin-friction, and the heat transfer rate is furthermore investigated under the effects of various physical parameters of interest. The present study shows that the Bejan number, the velocity and thermal profiles, and the rate of heat transfer decrease with a rise in the Deborah number De while the skin-friction coefficient increases. It is also observed that the entropy generation due to frictional forces is higher than that due to thermal effects. Thus, the study bears the potential application in powder technology as well as in biomedical engineering.

Microstructure and phase transformation behaviors of the film annealed at different temperatures were studied by X-ray diffractometry （XRD）, transmission electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimeter （Dsc）. Also tensile tests were examined. For increasing annealed temperature, multiple phase transformations, transformations via a B19-phase or direct martensite/austenite transformtion are observed. The TiNiPd thin film annealed at 750℃ had relatively uniform martensite/austenite transformtion and shape memory effect. Martensite/austenite transformtion was also found in strain-temperature curves. subsequent annealing at 450℃ had minor effect on transformation temperatures of Ti-Ni-Pd thin films but resulted in more uniform transformation and improved shape memory effect.

Tomato(solanum lycopersicum L.)is called‘the poor man’s orange’due to its low price and improved nutritional *** experiment was conducted to study the breeding potential of some exotic tomato lines by assessing various qualitative and quantitative traits conferring yield and quality *** the qualitative traits,greater variability was observed for growth type,stem hairiness,and fruit shape and size.A determinate growth habit was observed in the genotype AVTO9802 while the genotype AVTO0102 produced yellow color fruits.A significant(p≤0.01)variation was also observed for the studied quantitative *** on yield and traits attributed to yield,the genotypes AVTO0314,GPB0107,GPB0120 and AVTO9802 were selected as promising *** differences between the genotypic and phenotypic coefficients of variation(GcV and PcV)of the studied quantitative traits were very *** suggests that the apparent variation was mainly due to the *** higher GcVand PcV values were observed for the number of primary branches plant^(−1)(NPB),number of fruits cluster^(−1)(NFc),individual fruit weight(IFW)and total soluble solids(Tss).High heritability was recorded for all quantitative traits in a broad ***,the individual fruit diameter showed the highest heritability(99.56).The highest(102.75)genetic advance(GA)was observed for the number of fruits plant^(−1)(NFP).High heritability coupled with high GA as percentage of mean were recorded for the traits NFP,NFc,fruit yield plant^(−1)(FYP)and *** showed a significant positive correlation with NFc(0.714^(***))and a negative correlation with days to the first harvest(−0.539^(***))and plant height(−0.492**).Principal component analysis revealed that the first four components explained 78.5%of the total variation among the ***,the promising genotypes(AVTO0314,GPB0107,GPB0120,AVTO9802 and AVTO0102)isolated from this study can be used for developing high-yielding and high-quality tomato va

This paper presents an adaptive human-machine interface(HMI)that can provide appropriate sets of digital maintenanceinformation and guidance to an operator during *** takes into consideration the expertise level of the operator and the maintenance context and *** proposed human-centric methodology considers the heart rate,intention,and expertise level of the operator,which can be captured using sensors during maintenance.A set of rules is formulated based on the sensor data to infer the state of the operator during a maintenance *** on the operator state,the adaptive HMI can augment the operator's senses using a scheme that combines visual,audio,and haptic guidance cues during maintenance to enhance the operator's ability to perceive information and perform maintenance *** schemes of visual,audio,and haptic cues are developed based on a comparison of the best practices obtained from experienced operators.
